Don't need to be a DIT to invest in these. Make your life easier, save the time and money in the long run - buy once.

I love the reader works like a charm. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't want to work with my other usb-v cables that i have and the one it came with is quite short so as soon as I realized it I started wondering what would happen if I loose the only one working... :D Need to verify which kind of cable does it work with. I guess it requires usb 3.2 gen 2 compatible cable to work.

Cards go in very smooth, magnet makes it nice to stick to the side of something. Know the effects of magnets on various things because it is a strong magnet. Writes and reads very quickly and efficiently.Jus that darn heat thing is my only complaint, but it's hot enough for me to dock it one star. Sorry. Fix that, and perfect.

When I attempted to use the CFexpress download mode it did not show up on my iMac Image Capture, but the SD card downloads did. When I contacted your customer support, no one knew why. I later learned from Apple that downloads from your device show up as a separate icon on my desktop screen. You should let your customer support people know this because I returned my original purchase and purchased another one on the theory that there was something wrong with the first one.
Love this card reader. It has a magnet at the bottom. I connected to my editing desk mounted sideways. Magnet is powerful enough not to move when I push in and push out cards. Great add here. Some will say it could damage your drive. Don't put it next to it.I ran a 6' 10Gbps 3.1 cable and I am getting excellent results. I mean instant results. Type A comes up quickly and downloads very fast. SD UHSII is like lighting. The second it does it I can access data. I highly recommend this card reader to anyone who needs a new card reader. I also like that I can instantly take it with me when I travel with my laptop. Small and portable.
It the current time, I believe Sony is the only other manufacturer of Type A readers. So not many choices.The ProGrade works just fine and reads UHS-II SDXC.I also own the ProGrade UHS-II SDXC Dual Slot reader, which also works well. Even with USB-C, from memory card to storage drive to editing app, the process is only as fast as the slowest component.
I use this reader at home. It reads Type A and SD cards, so use it both for my Sony A1 and A9II. Very fast and reliable. The only thing is that it has a magnet on the bottom, which works great attached to my desk, but don't trust it for traveling. Worried it would cause damage/erase a hard drive. I travel with the Sony version as it's smaller and non magnetic. Definitely worth getting.
I bought this card reader in anticipation of the Sony a1 and it's CFexpress cards. The camera is not in my hands yet, so I cannot speak to the speed or performance of the reader with CFexpress type A cards. But, so far, it has worked as expected with UHS-II SDXC cards. I am impressed by the build quality. It has a solid feel and good weight to it, even though it appears to be made of plastic. It also has a non-slip pad on the bottom that keeps it planted on your desk. One difference I see from the Sony XQD/SDXC0-II reader is that the slots are not spring loaded and the cards do not lock in place. It's a simple push in and pull out setup.
i shoot mostly birds, which involves LOTS of photos during a shoot with my Sony a1 (30 fps). so that said, when it comes to downloading to my computer, the card reader (and the cards) get quite HOT. I'm sure that degrades the reader and cards' useful lifetimes, but for me, i've never had a card or reader of any brand fail, so all that's theoretical. as far as i can see, the reader and cards work great, and at a significantly lower price than the Sony equivalents, so they're a deal. I also note that even when not in use, like for days, the reader remains ever slightly warmer than room temp. that makes no sense to me. its apparently doing something internally all the time, and that seems like its using unnecessary energy. if someone wants to send me the Sony versions, i'll do a comparison (hint hint B&H).
I have three different brands of cfexpress A card readers and like this one the best (though Lexar is good too; Sony is a bit heavy and bulky and gets hot while these don't). Yes, it has a magnetic bottom intentionally so it can be fixed to the back of your laptop to keep it from falling or getting forgotten and left behind. It does not appear strong enough to damage any hard drives and I've never had an issue.
