Best conditioner ever! I have long thin hair, and this is amazing to detangle, smells wonderful, love the menthol-minty smell/sensation! So I've repurchased this conditioner again and again for the simple fact that it makes my hair the softest and most hydrated it has ever been, however, recently I've considered switching to a different conditioner. Honestly it breaks my heart. I'm not someone who is sensitive to smells at all but this conditioner is crazy on the scent. It's straight up menthol peppermint. I first used this product on a trip. It was meant to be used as for convenience, use and toss. Only I didn't toss...I purchased. I have been using a specific conditioner for over 10 years, not because I don't life trying different products, but because the product I am currently using has been the best product for my hair, hands down. I've never written a review before, positive or negative. But this I HAD to write so I can save anybody wanting to try this conditioner because of the good ratings it seemingly has. I started using this conditioner towards the end of November until now. I have very thick balayage-bleached 2C hair. This conditioner was very hydrating, and did make my hair feel soft...that is until I noticed that my hair was getting shorter and looking thinner over time. I have used nothing new except this, meaning it can only be this. It caused extreme breakage, an issue that never used to happen, and a lot more hair loss than normal. I'm so upset this happened and I'm still trying to look for anything that can help reverse this damage. I know this for definite as I used the shampoo with a different conditioner that doesn't cause any issues, yet my scalp itched, and then I alternated and used my regular shampoo with this conditioner and still my scalp itched. So it's both products. And it's a shame, as I was really happy with the conditioning effect as my hair was completely tangle-free and manageable for a change, without any knotting throughout the day. I couldn't tell you exactly where on the ingredients list it should be, but 7th place from the top indicates a fair amount of it is in here. Covid, age, and baby fine hair, has left me feeling very dissatisfied about my hair. I never believed it as necessary to spend a lot of money on hair care products and tried all kinds of shampoos and conditioners. The results varied from dry, limp, or dull looking hair and lacking shine, body, and texture. My hairdresser suggested that I try using Pureology Hydrate Sheer. I ordered online and accidentally got the Hydrate formula. I’ve been using it with excellent results. Body, shine, text, soft and clean!! I’m in love with the minty smell and the results. I’m now convinced that shampoo and conditioner matter very much in achieving the best results for great looking hair. Never going back!!!
I've been using Pureology Hydrate Conditioner for almost 25 years, before it was bought by L'Oreal. The minty fragrance is invigorating and I only have to use a small amount of conditioner (about a dime size) to cover all of my shoulder length hair. The one thing I don't like is that the lid on the bottle is really hard to open. I feel like I'm going to break my nails off trying to flip it up. The old lid that toggled up and down was better. Also, I wish Pureology still sold the old pump dispenser for the large bottles. It's awkward having to pour out of the big bottles and squeezing the sides causes suction inside the bottle, which is annoying to release. Pureology, please sell a pump dispenser for the large bottles.

I usually add some “light” honey blonde highlights once a year to my brunette maine, so it’s important for me to use products that are nourishing and healing to any damaged strands due to chemical processing my hair may go through. I only wash my hair every 3-4 days and it still feels and looks good. The aromatherapy smells of this product are “mild” but not in a bad way, only in a natural earthy sort of way. Overall I’m very impressed and satisfied with the results of using this “Hydrate” shampoo and conditioner! Aka I did “Not” receive any samples, loyalty points, coupons, or contest entry for this review!! I bought the product to try from Ulta beauty supply store.
I decided to buy this shampoo after reading all the good reviews. However, I wish I never purchased this shampoo along with the conditioner. For reference, I have long, wavy, low porosity hair. I struggle with an oily scalp, frizziness, dry ends because of my hair type.I used this shampoo ONCE and my hair was ruined. My beautiful waves ended up looking like crumpled paper and ran over. My hair was extremely dry and frizzy, which is upsetting because this shampoo is supposed to be hydrating. I guess not. It also left a thick, sticky residue on my hair.
