Pureology Pure Volume Conditioner 266ml

I will start by saying that I do die my hair a fair bit so it does have damage but it’s also fairly thick. The last time I died my hair I actually had died a darker red color over a faded orange color and prior to use of the shampoo my hair was showing more darker red and after use of the shampoo my hair has changed to a definite orange color. I’m not really sure if that’s a pro or con but figured it was worth mentioning. After using the shampoo a few times I realize that it does make my hair feel better though usually the effects are best felt the day after the hair was washed. To me the smell resembles shaving cream so that’s the closest thing I can compare it to. If that is not a deal breaker for you though I would definitely recommend this shampoo overall.

Your hair is without a doubt clean, unlike other vegan products I’ve tried that didn’t lather at all or clean my hair. I have fine naturally curly hair that I usually straighten and it’s always silky soft. My daughter (10 years old) loves when I use Pureology on her since her hair is very oily, straight and thick, it cleans her hair the best. My favorite is this Pureology volume in the pink bottle. My hair has never felt cleaner, lightweight and fluffy but not frizzy. It still keeps the moisture in your scalp, without weighing it down.

My hair feels nice and I do notice nice volume for a couple of days. It’s not a miracle worker, obviously, it’s just a shampoo. You’re not going to get 80s hair from just a shampoo.I only wash my hair every two weeks, and this shampoo/conditioner line didn’t cause excess oil production that would make me need to wash more often, so that is a plus in my book.All this being said, I will likely keep this in rotation with my Olaplex, Oribe, Ouai, and Briogeo products.

I've been using my Pureology Pure Volume line for a few weeks now. I've used two other Pureology lines and I felt that the Pureology Pure Volume Shampoo fell short compared to them. The shampoo made my hair feel heavier than before. I didn't see any extra volume added, it just didn't work for me. I'm still recovering from postpartum hair loss, so I have a thinner hairline. The shampoo emphasized my thinning hair but luckily I don't go out often. I think if you have a lush thick head of hair, this formula might work. For the price, I wouldn't buy it again unless they reformulated. However, I can appreciate the vegan ingredients andI the floral scent of the product. I love that it’s vegan and that’s it’s designed for color treated hair. I don’t have to worry about my color fading. It’s very nourishing and cleans hair very well. Such a luxurious lather and it leaves hair looking alive and bouncy. Smell is amazing! I have super straight, fine, oily and flat hair that is long and lacking volume. I have to wash my hair every day or every other day, so I’m always on the quest for a product that will help me to achieve as much volume as possible but also will be suitable for an everyday wash. Makes hair washing a luxurious experience!

I waited a while to write this review as I wanted to ensure that my first impressions of this shampoo were accurate. The formula is a thick, creamy light pink with what appears to be iridescent. The bottle is quite small but the product is highly concentrated meaning you only need to use a dollop or two depending on the length of your hair to wash. The scent is nostalgic for me. It transformed my usually uneventful hair washing experience to that were which I am taken aback to that luxurious high-end salon. This scent is definitely what I’d describe l as therapeutic in an aromatherapy type standpoint. A lot of shampoo products out there seem to strip the hair and dry it out. At first I thought I needed to do a second wash but then I quickly realized it was simply preserving the integrity of my hair. This shampoo trumps my must-have favorite shampoos from bumble and bumble. I can tell this formula was meticulously made. The volume it creates is perfect in the sense that it lifts the hair at the root yet manages to avoid making the hair frizzy and dry like most other shampoos claiming to provide full and voluminous results. I will be purchasing this after I finish this bottle. I like my hair full, shiny, smoothed and richly pigmented. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t wash my hair color out compared to the other shampoos I’ve using. Can’t wait til my next wash so I can enjoy this wonderful product. I find I don’t need to put as much effort in styling or applying as many products following my washes with this shampoo! I’m thoroughly impressed.

Not at all what I was hoping for...

I usually buy redken's volume conditioner because it smells wonderful and actually works. I bought the pureology volume conditioner because there was a points special going on and I thought I'd try it. At nearly double the price point the stuff's gotta work really well, no? Turns out, actually no. My hair turns greasy halfway through the day after I use this conditioner which is really odd. I only use like a quarter size amount (my hair is really long) because the stuff is so expensive, ensuring that I work it through the whole length of my strands. I should've returned it after the first week but decided because of the price to keep trying it - maybe it took a few washes to work? Three weeks in and I can't wait till the bottle runs out so I can go back to my redken.

Pink and perfumey.

At first I'm always skeptical of shampoo since most don't work for me and this is one of them. HOWEVER, the shampoo itself is lovely and I definitely think it would work for others. I always want to use one that doesn't have harsh chemicals and the works but it never works for my hair type. This shampoo cleans well without it feeling like you stripped every remnant of moisture out and doesn't leave a film on your hair. The lather is not intense but still there to be comfortable of moving your hands around to massage your scalp. My hair didn't receive any volume but more of the opposite, it was limp and pretty flat to my head and got greasy the next day. The color of it was a surprise since most shampoos I use are white but this one is a pretty pink. This conditioner definitely lacks a lot of the great qualities of its counterpart the shampoo. The consistency is a light gel/cream and is a little bit sheer in the delivery of moisture to the hair. This is usually a good thing when it comes to volumizing products because otherwise it will weigh the hair down if it has too much moisture. I feel that the formula could be improved by adding richer moisture that can be rinsed out easily and perhaps be able to be modified in a sense for those who happen to need extra moisture. I found myself having to use quite a large amount in order to feel that my shoulder length hair was completely saturated with conditioner. I felt texture to my hair after rinsing and I usually like to feel my hair is smooth and slick after conditioning. I will continue to purchase this conditioner and use my hair masks in even intervals. It should be noted that I always pair my shampoos directly with my conditioners. Being conflicted with my feelings about this conditioner allows me to reflect upon the fact that my hair after air drying was left incredibly soft, full and voluminous. To sum it up, it did the job and ultimately impressed me with the results. I genuinely feel I just need to get used to the way the product works because the results are so incredibly worth it..
