Pyrex 8-Piece Smart Essentials Mixing Bowl Set

Love these bowls! The different sizes are great. I decided to buy a 2nd set.They are dishwasher, freezer, and microwave safe.The lids fit snug and secure. Perfect for taking salads/food to a party or dinner.I've had my first set for 5 years. No chips, no cracks...I would highly recommend these Pyrex bowls.

A must have

I absolutely love this set. Stacking convenient and glass. It’s rare to find quality pieces these days, everything is plastic or thin metal. There’s so much you can’t use metals or plastics for in cooking or storage. I’m overjoyed to have found this set. The largest bowl is about 1 gallon and they stagger down in size. No confusing lids as each one fits its unique bowl. Great for keeping a salad fresh or keeping pasta sauces from separating. Micro and dishwasher safe How easy!

Arrived in perfect condition

I read a few reviews on here about how it arrived cracked, crushed, shattered, and otherwise broken. And I read reviews about it arriving chipped. Thankfully none of that applies to me! All the glass bowls arrived in perfect condition. It was well packed in many layers of paper and cardboard that kept it safe. I think highly of Pyrex brand and I prefer glass to plastic for storing food. The only thing I might change is the shape of the bowls, making them less shallow/low. But overall a great product and price.

Chipped on edge

These bowls should come in a protected box but they dont. They're just wrapped in plastic. If you stack the bowls for storage (as they're supoosed to be) you'll likely end up witj small slivers of the glass splitting off the edges. Pyrex DEFINITELY isn't what it used to be, unfortunately. Otherwise, the sizes are good and the lids fit well. HIGHLY recommend felt pieces between each bowl for storage to avoid chipping the edges!

Do not purchase not safe

Not the bowls of yester year. These new Pyrex bowl are made with tempered glass and will shatter into shards over time. The pyrex we grew up with was made with Borsonate which is shatter proof glass. My son got injured when he lifted a bowl out the cabinet and the rim separated from the bowl . He had to get stitches. The bowl splintered into shards everywhere when it separated from the rim. Pyrex is not safe to safe to use anymore. They have class action suits against them. They were bought out by instant pot brand.

Glass Chips

I was so excited to use these bowls. I got them home and made sure that it was safe to put in my dishwasher. I washed them and put them away. A couple of days later I got the big one out because I was going to make something. I noticed something in the bottom and used my finger to wipe it out and see what it was. It was little slivers of glass. I am so thankful to God that I found it before using it. Now I have this 25-dollar glass bowl set and I am so afraid to use them. Now they just sit in my cabinet.

Great set of bowls

This set of Pyrex bowls is really versatile. They stack inside of each other, making them take up less room to store. They can be used as mixing bowls, serving bowls, or food storage. The lids are easy to take on and off and are bright fun colors. They do not stain like plastic and you don’t have to worry about plastic chemicals exposure. They are better than metal for storing things in the fridge because you can see what is inside of them without taking the lid off. I use these bowls all the time and would definitely recommend them and buy them again. The only negative is that these are not leak proof when turned sideways or upside down. The lids do not lock in place so they would not be great to transport food in.

Heavy Metal and Toxin Free!

I ONLY use Pyrex glass products for food storage and preparation. This product has been tested for the presence of heavy metals, such as lead, cadmium, mercury and others as well as toxic chemicals and it comes back clean and safe. For this reason I only buy Pyrex and Corelle branded kitchen/food items. The safety only applies to their newer items (the old style dishes with the designs and colors and containers DO have lead and toxins in them that are released into your food). I also would never purchase or use any of their new stuff that has any kind of colored design on it because the paint used almost always has toxins in it.

Love the included lids and perfect for dog food

First of all, Pyrex have changed their recipe. So if you wanted the old Pyrex that won't break at all, you will not be satisfied with this product. But the pros is that it is still pretty durable (it is breakable) and it is much lighter than the older versions. And on top of that, it comes with lids! No more trying to fit cling wraps on these bowls. It makes it so much more environmental friendly especially if you plan to use this for marinading meats, proofing doughs, and meal prepping. It is also wonderful for party and potluck use. Any leftovers, just pop on the lid and stick it in the fridge or freezer.Aside from that, I bought this with the intention of using them as dog bowls. Basically I used the biggest size for his food bowl and the next biggest two sizes as his drinking bowl (bigger one downstairs and smaller one upstairs). He loves them and no longer splashes food everywhere. And I'm happy I don't have to constantly clean up the floor. The lids kinda served as trays to catch food crumbles and water splashes. So I highly recommend this to anyone looking for affordable doggie bowls. One thing to keep in mind, my dog is very gentle and careful. But if you have a hyper pooch that likes to throw bowls around or knock them over, this may not be your best choice as it still can break and the shards can hurt your baby.

On sale at the time so the price was cheap! Color coordinated tight seal fitting lids on all four bowls. The biggest size works great as fresh fruit bowls for the dining table, and all work wonderfully for a multitude of kitchen tasks or needs. DURABLE, dishwasher SAFE. Id still advise washing the lids by hand so they aren't damaged by potential extreme hot water.
