Rode DCS-1 Dual Cold Shoe Mount

RØDE are awesome, and this is a simple, durable piece of kit that unobtrusively does EXACTLY what you need it to do. I use it on the shoe mount of a DSLR to hold both the Rode Videomic Pro and the receiver of the RODELink wireless filmmaker kit (both simultaneously plugged into the camera via a stereo breakout adaptor, to record one mic on the left channel and the other mic on the right channel so I can have two synched mono audio recordings). This piece fits them both perfectly and sturdily and allows uninterrupted operation of the camera. Totally recommend!

A dual cold-shoe, nothing more, nothing less

There are of course cheaper versions from China and Taiwan out there, and they cost 1/5th of the DCS-1 price; but then you wouldn't have the iconic Røde displayed front and center on your shoots, and who doesn't want that?

I purchased this product to mount the wireless Rode Microphone receiver. The item is made of aluminum and well constructed. I have other cold shoe mounts but this was the right size that did not interfere with other accessories. I would purchase this item and recommend this item.

Does the job

Does exactly what it is suppose to do. Our organization's marketing and outreach department had a RODE shotgun mic and then recently added the Rode Wireless GO II Microphone System to our kit. The mount allows us to use both.

Genius

Pure genius! DCS -1 Cold shoe mount is perfect size for mounting wireless go 2 receivers on DSLRs or cameras that have an equivalent mount. Not to big, lightweight and the receivers just clip right into the slots. A must have.

Provided the Solution I needed

I bought the Rode Vlogger kit and tried to use it immediately and tried to use it with the case on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, the mic lightening connector would not extend far enough to go into the port at the bottom of the phone with the case on it. I preferred using the phone with the case on it for added protection. So I bought the Rode DCS-1 Dual Cold Shoe Mount to use the light and the mic at the same time with the case on my phone. I had to purchase a shock mount for the mic and a short cable to make that work but I got what I wanted.

Really poor construction.

The unit is metal. Very good but it's cheaply designed to save money. The bottom piece that attaches to a hot shoe screw into the two shoe top. Hence the screwed in piece may not he square with the top. They should align the bottom piece and weld it or pin it from moving. The least they could do is super glue it from moving.

Simple piece of gear but very useful

Not a lot to say about this other than its rugged machined from aluminum so its lightweight yet sturdy. I use it to mount both a shotgun and a wireless receiver which has come in very handy. also allows me to place a small light if needed (I use an extension mounted to the cold shoe to give vertical distance from the other shoe when using a large accessory. Likely will last forever, there isn't a lot that can break on it.

Small, but nice

Well made, compact, dual cold shoe mount. If each mount were a little further apart, you could mount both a mic and a small light.I have a mic in one and a Small Rig handle in the other. The handle elevates the light and make it work.
