We transitioned our Cavi on this from day 1 of bringing him home. He really loves it. The best thing I find with this brand of dry food, is that the coating on the food feels moist you can really smell it. The size of the food is ideal for that little mouth.

Used to use this brand when Milo was around 2-3 years old. Thought I'd change him back to it since it did give Milo a shiny coat when he was younger. He's 6 years old now and it caused scabs and dry skin throughout his body, $100s of vet medications and bills. Switched back to store-bought kibble and he's back to normal. Could 100% be the dog rather than the food, take as you will.

The title looks inviting to the lucky owners of a Cavalier. We know that they are vulnerable to particular diseases and the title suggests that feeding this type of food helps avoiding them. Maybe right in theory, but there is no guarantee. Anyway, this is healthy food for any breed so give it to your Cavalier and just hope that it is true what the manufacturer tells.
I have two 5-1/2 year old puppies. Returned to Royal Canin for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels on veterinarian recommendation. Keeps my two Fast CAT, CAT, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, walk two miles three times a week, race around the pasture multiple times a day Cavaliers in great shape, a good weight with beautiful coats.Happy faces with waggy tails describes the breed. Royal Canin’s breed specific feed helps to keep them that way.Just wish available in larger bags.
For a product that you expect to use for the first year, at a time while the puppy is growing, and eating more than an adult, why does it only come in a 3 lb bag (~12 cups)?You'll be feeding your pup ~1.5 cups a day, so this bag will last just over a week. With shipping times what they are, remember to buy 2 or 3, and re-order early.Would be nice if there was a 10 lb option.
I, too, have had a hard time finding Royal Canin in the US for my CKCS. I’ve finally solved the issue for now by importing it from the UK. It’s a few more steps but I order two large bags at a time and they last about 5 months. Order from any UK-based pet store that ships overseas.
Our puppy's not picky. She ate the puppy food from royal canin with her breeder, and had no problem transitioning to the ckc puppy kibble. She's been eating this for 5 months now, and she's of a healthy weight, size and health! Pet circle also has the best prices most of the time, so don't bother looking elsewhere!
Please don’t permanently discontinue Royal Canin Cavalier King Charles Spaniel diets; my dog has done so well on this food and I really appreciate the added taurine and fish oils! My dog has been on this food for three years and I really appreciate this diet and would be very sad to see it go, and so would my dog.
