Hypoallergenic Veterinary Diet Indications when an allergy or food intolerance is suspected, the cat's diet should be changed without any gradation. The hypoallergenic diet should be maintained throughout the life of the animal. Features the soy protein isolate hydrolyzate, consisting of chains of low-molecular amino acids, is highly digestible and scarcely allergic. High doses of divitamins and of pantothenic acid associated with zinc reduce water losses and improve the barrier effect of the skin. Edicosehexicoic eicosapentaenoic acids, long chain fatty acids of the Omega 3 series, regulate skin inflammatory reactions. The association of fermentable fibers (beet pulp, FOS) and zeolite promotes the good balance of the bacterial flora and the protection of the intestinal mucosa. It is a gluten-free and dilatose-free food.

My fussy 16 year-old cat with multiple food allergies loves Royal Canin Hypoallergenic dry food. She has it for breakfast every morning at whatever time she wakes up, and doesn't bother to wake me for breakfast. Royal Canin Hypoallergenic dry food and Royal Canin Sensitivity Control pouches have solved my cat's allergy problems which started five years ago with her licking her tummy bald with itching.

The vet recommended this food as my cat is over grooming and may be allergic to her food (apparently this is quite common). I've to give it a 6-8 week trial. I went into the store, but it wasn't on the shelf and the assistant said to order on line. This went very smoothly ( the price is similar on other sites) and I collected it a few days after ordering. So far it's good. My cat likes it. She's a very fussy eater - so I'm relieved that it's money not wasted and hoping that it helps with her over grooming over the coming weeks.

We have been exclusively using the hypoallergenic dry food for many years following a kittenhood with several allergy issues. Butters is a happy healthy boy with no symptoms of allergies. As Butters still enjoys his food we continue to use this formula for piece of mind that he's getting all the nutrition he needs.

My cat was diagnosed with IBD earlier in the year and we tried two other diets before this one. The first one he refused to eat (Pro Plan HA), the second one made him physically itchy (Royal Canin PR), but this third one seems the charm. After eating only this food his diarrhea stopped and his ultrasound (around 2 months after starting this diet) showed a significant decrease in inflammation compared to the ultrasound he had 3 months before that. He still throws up often enough to make me worried for him. And he seems to not chew this food a lot so half the time his vomit is whole kibble. I wish there was a wet food version. But I’m so glad I found something to help him. He’s a young happy guy and I hope he can live a long life.
I had tried everything prior to finding the Royal Canin Hypoallergenic range for my cat. At one stage I nearly lost her and she had to be operated on for stomach ulcers due to her allergies. Then worse still she completed turned her nose up and refused to eat other similar brands. I was really getting desperate. Now there is peace and she has not vomited since she started on both wet and dry Hypoallergenic range 4 months ago. She is even putting on weight again!
My cat has been suffering with skin allergies for the last few years, constant scratching, grooming, scabs on his back near his tail and around his neck. When it's got really bad, scabs on his face and around his eyes too. He's been to the vets numerous times and had steroids which helped, then once the meds finished, back to square one. We've tried all sorts to get to the bottom of it and finally I was recommended this by my vet. Being a very fussy eater I was not expecting this to go down well at all but he loves it! Eats it like he has never been fed!!! His stools are now firmer and randomly don't smell. Only on week 3 but so far so good. The only thing I will add is he is always hungry, I am giving more than the recommended 60g a day for this reason. Still trying to wean my 16 year old cat off biscuits and onto good quality wet food but whilst she still eats them, the Hypoallergenic Royal Canin is better than most. Seems not to cause itching like the rest. More importantly she still likes them!
My cats have had to have this diet for years and they’ve never gone off it. They eat it all straight up as soon as I put it down. No problems with allergies or upset tummies. Worth the price. Photo is them waiting by the cupboard to be fed!
My cat has to have hypoallergenic food, which is not cheap. PetDrugsOnline gives an amazing discount. The food itself is clearly appetizing as well as controlling Smokey's gastric problem. He has been used to Sheba & Thrives for years, but doesn't seem to miss them.....He is actually greedy for this food now! What's more, our other cat loves it too....not that she needs it medically.
My cat was coughing up hair balls and biscuit at least twice a week (even though she was on a good quality hairball formula). Blood tests showed she had IBS, so I switched to this biscuit. Within a few weeks the vomiting had stopped. Now she may only cough up a hairball once every 6 or so weeks and no biscuit comes with it. After about 4 months of being on this biscuit, I tried to slowly introduce a grain-free biscuit (mixed a dozen biscuits in with this biscuit)...she vomited it up. Tried again the next day incase it was just a coincidence, and she vomited again. So, it looks like she'll be eating this biscuit long term...
