I've thought hundreds of times about writing this review, and now I'm here I'm a little disappointed there isn't an option with less than 1 star.When I got this sandwich "press", I never for once dreamed that someone would make something like this without a lever to adjust how much the sandwich gets pressed.But it doesn't. Seriously. This is the single most important piece of a sandwich press, and this one doesn't have it.So that means for the last couple of years, whenever I use this sandwich "press", I have to decide how much I want it cooked vs how flat I want it pressed. If you take your sandwich out before it gets too flat, it won't be cooked. If you let it cook, your "sandwich" will be very, very flat.It's a difficult decision to make, and one I highly recommend you avoid by buying a different product.And if you do get one of these, don't ever leave your sandwich for any length of time as you could well return to a paper thin (but only just cooked) sandwich.I have contemplated writing this, every single time I have used the "press" and every time I have unbelievingly seen that these are still being sold in shops.You might think that is enough, but there is also the 'catch' to keep the sandwich press closed. It is very finicky and seems to magically hold the press closed when you want to open it, but doesn't hold it closed if you need it to be.

Purchased one for us then one for family as it's super quick and so perfect for flat breads, toasties and even thin burger patties, fish and thin sliced veges. Small enough for the bench top and light weight. Hope it lasts for that price because it's exce

Love the red colour, the sandwich press heats and cooks quickly. A lid clasp would be great tho. I have seen other comments to that effect too, surprised Russell Hobbs hasn't taken it on board.Great sale price.

Best friend

On a cold night, when you don't want to cook this Sandwich Press steps up to help. Takes sandwiches with lots of filling, warms it well- no cold parts and doesn't burn the cheese that's oozed out. In comparison with my previous press, this one is very easy to clean as well. What more do you need

Does the job

Works really well. Heats up quickly and toasts perfectly. The only negative is that when you open it the top doesn't want to stay up. It often closes which makes it difficult to put in and take out whatever it is you're toasting. It means you have to hold open the top with one hand in order to put in and take out whatever it is you are toasting.

Functional, simple and good looking

Sturdy, easy to use sandwich press. Flat plates, auto thermostat. Good price on sale. Would be nice to have settings on the hinge to keep it open at various heights and adjustable temperature but if you want a basic sandwich press that does the business and can fit 4 sandwiches this one looks good and works.

Bought it to replace my aging sandwich toaster after using my daughter's flatmate's one while visiting. Never regretted the purchase. Heats quickly, can do four sandwiches or one very large panini. Have also cooked boneless chicken breasts and meat patties in it to perfection

Versatile

I have used Russel Hobs products, toaster kettle and was very pleased with them. When kids finally got home from London they loved my sandwich press, so a press was the perfect gift for their house warming, the same as ours but red! So mine cant disappear on me!
