Had the unit just over a year, always kept under cover/garage/inside house and oiled when required (SAE 30). Used about 10 times to frame a small wall inside the house and to attach trim around doors, windows etc.Never used in a commercial sense, just home DIY. Suddenly stopped 2 days ago. Checked manual for trouble shooting, still nothing. Can't find receipt so I can't return it. Never again.

I bought the Airwave 50L as i was more than happy with the other Ryobi products I own. Unfortunately, this product does not deliver the quality I have come to expect. The first unit I bought on Jan 2020 was only used a handful of times before it refused to start. Powering off and on and pushing the reset did not have any effect. And no, it wasn't running on an extension lead and suffering a voltage loss. This was returned to Bunnings, who happily supplied a replacement.The replacement unit worked fine when I set it up but the first time I actually used it to pump up motorcycle tyres, it leaked virtually all its oil onto my workshop floor. Close inspection revealed the casing that houses the oil level window does not fit snugly to the body of the pump. Bad ... The compressor comes with a paint sprayer which is supposed to run at 5 bar (~70psi), however the compressor itself is unable to maintain that pressure continuously during painting. So for every minute you spend painting, you spend another 3 minutes waiting for the compressor to refill.All the parts are cheap and nasty. The fake nitto fittings blow off easily, the thing leaks air and oil, and god forbid it would come assembled. Oh yeah, the cheap tin that holds the wheels on strip their threads immediately.AVOID

I bought this compressor 4 years ago and it is still going strong. As a retired cabinetmaker I have had many more expensive and larger units. When I retired I set up a home workshop and bought this little beauty. I think a lot of the issues are caused by inexperience users.I use all Ryco fittings and had to change the original ones and because of the cast body if you tighten them too much you would split the casing. I have nothing but praise for this unit but look after it and it will look after you. Still going strong after 4 years and I think it will outlast me :-)

The problem was the one I had was a special set which came with a bunch of accessories. So could not be replaced as Ryobi needed the exact same model exchanged . As the same model was no longer available the tool shop offered to replace the valve, thought fine, okay with me. Big mistake, replacement valve started leaking a few months later.My solution though not ideal was to seal the drain valve shut, which stopped the air leaking. I used to have the same compressor and had to buy a new one. Overall there were a few newer modifications. It is different when emptying the air from the cylinder when finished with a job. The oil provided with my compressor was almost empty when it arrived as the lid was not tight and much of the fluid had leaked out. I also found oil spots on ground and found the bottom drain plug was not tight. Once I purchased some more oil and rectified the leak, it is now all good.

Upon asking a friendly staff member for advice he directed my attention to the promo deal on offer, which had the ryobi model I was looking at, with 5 additional air tools all included for cheaper than the same compressor by itself! Bargain. Now I am yet to give it a good work out, but so far the airwave has performs wonderfully, easy to set up, robust enough yet not too heavy, great all round. Really happy.
