For craft projects or something more heavy duty go with Ryobi for your gluing needs. Their P305 is a durable and powerful twist on the traditional hot glue gun. Not only is this a cordless power tool but it has the other ergonomic features you would expect from Ryobis high quality drill drivers reciprocating saws and more. It has the rubber hex texture youd expect from Ryobis grips so you can keep a firm grip even in slippery conditions. Additionally this is compatible with Ryobis One+ battery lineup letting you run this for over 3 hours straight assuming youre using a 4 amp hour battery (P108 in Ryobi terms). With 3 sticks of multipurpose glue included all you need to do is slap a battery (not included) into this unit and youre ready to get to work! With Ryobi you can be sure that the job is done right.

Adequate, but not exceptional.

This product is not "better than expected". I have Ryobi tools and am satisfied with them. They are adequate for the tasks that I use them for. They are not better than expected. They meet expectations. There is a difference. It is slow to heat up, but does eventually heat up. It does the job I needed it for.

Awesome Product!! Love It So Much I Ordered A 2nd!!

This thing works great!! Heats up just as fast a plug in version! You can take it Anywhere! Have never had the battery die on me while using it. Also a very nice distinctive feature is the Metal Tip to the main unit is "Rubber". With almost all other (AC/DC) manufacturer's, the entire tip in Metal. This being made of a heat resistant rubber, you don't get as much of the "Stringiness" when you pull away from gluing your project. Very highly recommended for being as good as a AC (plug in) model.

Best Cordless Gluegun.

If you want a cordless glue gun, this is the one. I already had Ryobi 18+ tools so I had batteries. My wife wanted to try this so we purchased one. She LOVES it. We have tried other cordless and they do not have enough power to work or last. This uses a lot of power, but I have batteries so that is no problem. Since they are rechargeable, I see no problem going thru batteries.

Best Glue Gun I've used
28 December 2020

Great glue gun. Doesn't make a mess at all, the glue only comes out when you squeeze the trigger. Huge improvement over my other glue gun that had glue coming out of it all the time once turned on. Love it. And it's done that heavy to use with the extra weight of the battery. Great for my crafts. Very happy I purchased this.

Fast heating, less dripping, less cord mess
17 May 2020

I got this when it is on sale for $19.98.Here are some information that may be helpful and give you perspective if you are on the fence. The glue gun point downwards slightly. It is a lot less dripping that the cordless ones. It doesnt drip on my table much.It heats up quickly, like within 1 minute. It uses the big glue sticks, not the small one.Once you go cordless, you will not go back to corded glue gun.

Favorite tool ever with the most uses around the house
27 October 2020

This is a serious hot glue gun, definitely not for unsupervised children! With that said, this might end up being your favorite tool ever. I bought it to tack down loose pieces of trim on my siding and with Gorilla glue sticks it does the job fantastic. I've repaired the oven door handle, kitchen cabinet, couch upholstery, a chair, mailbox, desk, bed frame, and more and I've only had it a couple of weeks. You'll find yourself looking for things that need fixing after buying this. Another great aspect is that it uses Ryobi One batteries that I already have and can buy more cheaply. It's also lightweight, easy to use, and no drips.

Great purchase!
7 August 2020

I was a little sceptical about a battery glue gun but decided to give it a try. I have found it so handy and going cordless is awesome. I’ve used it on many little repairs I probably wouldn’t have dragged out a corded gun and extension cord. I do get an occasional drip but always did with corded ones. Heats fast and battery life so far has been satisfactory with a 2ah battery. Everything I’ve hoped for so far.

Not for people with arthritic hands
22 February 2020

This is NOT for people with arthritic hands. First of all, my fault, I didn't realize I was going to have to track down a battery and charger separately, which made this quite expensive. I charged the battery and couldn't get it off the charger. I thought I had done something wrong, but I took it to church and one of the men took it off with ease. Turns out, my hands aren't strong enough. When I am using it, it keeps turning itself off and I have to wait, again, for it to heat up. I see it being used on Home and Family all of the time, which is why I bought it. I thought it would be great not to have a cord to work around, but am disappointed in it over all. They recommend using 2 fingers on the trigger, which again, is not for those with arthritis in their hands.

Very Good gun, but It needs a 4AH lithium battery
11 March 2022

I make cardboard boxes for a living and there are times I need to glue 20 or so boxes. The recommended battery is the 4 AH Lithium, which I used and it worked GREAT!The Glue Gun warmed up in around 5 minutes and it does use a fair amount of juice to warm it up. The reason being that it is a two Temperature Gun. One for heating the glue and it then lowers its' Temperature to maintain the glue. The small amount of glue that leaks out is not even an issue for me (For Crafters it might be).I liked this product so much I recommended this glue gun to my company and they bought three of them today. The only sad thing is that they bought a package deal with the 1.5 AH battery. I am starting to cringe already with that decision. There is a possibility that the Company might switch over to Ryobi, for the interchangeable batteries and the wide selection of tools available that they can and SHOULD use.Over all, after one day use, I am very impressed with this glue gun, just as I am impressed with the Ryobi package deal I bought for about $400.00 CDN. Just as I hope my company will move over to Ryobi from the Brand Name they are using now.Just one small safety feature that makes me smile. The "Rubber" cover for the tip!One other thought, can I get a smaller diameter tip for this glue gun?As for recommending Home Depot to a friend? Yes, and to my Company.

Very handy, but very hot.
14 January 2023

I have used this glue gun for about 2 years now. The convenience of it being cordless is the best feature of this item. Being able to have it beside you while you work on different projects is awesome. It takes a few minutes to heat up, but that is to be expected. I would warn though, that this gun gets the glue very hot. I find myself toggling the power switch of and on if I am using it for extended times, in an effort to keep the glue soft, but not scalding hot. When the glue is at full temperature, it takes a while to set, and you have to hold the piece in place while it cools. Also, at full temperature, you can get a pretty nasty burn if you're not careful. All things considered, for the price and the convenience, I recommend this tool to any hobbyist who ... MoreI have used this glue gun for about 2 years now. If you respect the heat, and pay attention to your glue viscosity, it is a wonderful tool.
