Although this reads medium hot, we didn’t feel the heat. But.....it really enhances the flavor. This package contains two packets. A normal size family needs just one but if your having family over, use both. This is the best curry mix you can buy. It’s authentic and full of flavor. If you’ve never used it before, let me help you put. Cut some carrots up and start cooking them in a pan. Add cut up onions, and then your meat (I use steak cut up in small pieces), and then add green beans (I use canned). Add a cup of water and cook, then add the curry mix, add a half cup of water. Mix the curry in the pan and simmer. Make rice, add a generous amount of spice curry to the water before boiling. ( You can take a piece of this curry mix and put it in the pot). Add rice, ... When I lived in a Germany, we ordered this meal at a Restaurant. This tastes just like what they served.

The box says it’s a medium hot. I know this is pulling hairs, but I’d probably said it’s a mild hot. There’s barely any spice. If you’re looking for spicy , like I was, I’d go with atleast their hot. Otherwise, it’s classic Golden Curry flavor.

I'm from the north east in Pennsylvania, and it's a bit too spicy for the uninitiated locals that don't eat any spicy food, but to those that do it's plenty mild. It is more mild than most mild kimchi's in my opinion. It mixes well into other sauces, I recommend using chicken broth, vegetable broth or a mushroom broth to mix into it with for richer more unique flavor. Bonito broth is not as good a mix ingredient in this.Serve with veggies and rice, as a paste for sandwiches, once we strained and sprayed popcorn with good success. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination
Loved it! The mild spiciness and heat on label was perfect, and accurate. The instructions on the side panel were very helpful, even though you can easily improvise on it. Just be aware that the curry paste becomes quite thick when mixed with hot boiling water. So if you need a watery curry sauce, make that separately and then mix it with the main ingredients. Best for chicken and turkey. May need a bit more spiciness if you are using it for beef.
this is my first time trying this and i must say this is delicious. you do not need to added additional seasoning. this curry has so much flavor and it's very tasty. i made curry chicken with string beans with peppers and onions with basmati rice. a nice quick a d easy meal that is satisfying. i will definitely buy some more to keep in my pantry. if u want spicy just add a little hot pepper. this is great
I love this curry! It's very simple but nice and flavorful. Expect it to be a bit salty, but it's so simple to make and delicious. If you find it too salty, just add a little extra water. It's flavorful enough that you won't notice it being diluted much! I simmer mine with chicken and potatoes! It's not really spicy at all- and I say this as somebody who does NOT like spicy food. I really love it! I'll be buying this frequently :-) !

For beef-eaters, the gravy it produces is out-of-this-world. It's intended to be poured over hot Japanese rice, but not necessary. Sops well with bread, as the gravy is thick and rich. It's not limited to beef either, it's also used with chicken, pork and shrimp. This brand my household has been using for over 30 years, and it's the only curry we use for seasoning traditional beef stew, as it doesn't take away from it, but adds the richest gravy e-v-e-r.FYI: Mild version is the typical heat ratio (black pepper heat level) for this dish for Japanese (get the black and red label if you like chili hot).3.5oz is the 2 to 4 person fry pan sized meal version. Get the family size packs if you're cooking for the firehouse or with a 5qt crock pot.
This sauce mix will turn just about any selection of veggies and meat into a Japanese stew perfect for serving over rice, with enough spice to warm your body but not enough to burn your tongue. Kare raisu is a staple Japanese comfort food, and this makes it super easy.EXPERIMENT with this. Use different meats and vegetables based on what's cheap or what you like. The classic uses carrots, potatoes and onion- onion is important, never skip it. Everything else is up to you. I've been making it with jicama instead of potato, stewing can't defeat its crunch which adds a very nice texture to the finished product. I've also tried sweet corn, chickpeas, peppers, snap peas, oranges, and lots of other things. It's hard to find a loser. Pork seems to be the best meat to use ... Pork seems to be the best meat to use for it, but again, try anything that can be stir-fried.I'll admit, I tried it because I'd seen it in anime... but having tasted it, I'm going to be making it for the rest of my life!
SOOO DELICIOUS. i made katsu curry. you can also get beef cubes or pork cubes (any protein) and cook it in the curry to marinate the meat but katsu was delicious with this. when paired with rice it reminds me of spanish beans and rice (the flavor). it’s the best curry i’ve ever had made so easy.
