I bought this, along with a USB-A Fit 256BG and I love it. This one I specifically bought to use as a backup for my phone and it worked very well for that task.My phone is 256GB so I bought this USB-C 256 GB flash drive just to use as a backup wheras the other I use to move large files between my phone and older computer lol.Using Smart Switch (which I absolutely ADORE) I was able to transfer about 80GB of files and the Smart Switch estimate was 1½ hours.On my computer that would take about that long and it's old so that kinda bummed me out.I take my eyes off of it for about 5 minutes and that estimate went down to like 12 minutes lol so the total time was way less than 20 minutes lol.Backup is it's only purpose but since I have a case on my phone that I don't ... I bought the samsung pocket drive about two years ago from micro center in columbus, ohio. What makes this flash drive stand out? Above them all is the fact that not only can you plug it into your computer? But you can plug it directly you to your phone. And it eliminates double sticking the drive just to transfer to files. When it works it's great. If you're buying this for a Note8 don't waste your money as it will continually tell you it is "charging" and if you're lucky it may actually let you transfer files, which typically it won't let you. After 21-minutes of charging and 8% of my battery power I finally gave up and disconnected it for the third time. There no instructions in my Note8 user manual, in the Flash Drive package, or on Samsung's website to give you any answers to this issue and Samsung Chat has no idea what to tell you either. I know it's only a small expense but they all add up to wasted money if you don't do something about it. Next stop: call tech support and MAYBE they'll have a solution . . however; I'm not counting on it.

I purchased a few months back because I work from my phone needed the space yet didn't wanna lose all my content. It's easy use able easy instructions and doesn't take long. Definitely would recommend I purchased this product a few months ago to increase my phone storage capacity. As a remote worker, my phone is essential for daily tasks. This product allowed me to gain valuable storage space. At the same time, I did not have to delete important files. I am very happy with this purchase.
I wish I had known about these sooner. Or, at least done more research! I assumed only devices without expandable memory (microSD slots) would benefit. Totally wrong was I and so gratefully when my SD card got stuck in my phone for a while!!! Faced with a PLETHORA of options ... an endless sea of gadgets looming before me... it was definitely my past experience with Samsung combined with the size, the reviews (and the customer support with issues expressed there) that made my decision an easy one. Great way to have a backups of all my pictures and videos from my old phones to current one in one or two places instead of paying for some cloud service. It plugsvinto nearly everything you would have nowadays; your phone, your laptop, your computer, even your tv.
