I've got this projector paired with a Vividstorm S Pro 120, along with Klipsch Reference Premier with a Denon receiver. Even with full daylight coming through a side window, you still get a pretty good picture, but at night (or a dark room) it really shines. I really enjoy how easy it is to use as a television (with Samsung TV), and how awesome it makes movie nights with good surround. The projector itself stays quiet, and isn't noticable while watching a movie. I haven't connected my Switch to it yet, but it won't break my enjoyment if it ends up being a little laggy. It's spendy, and if you want a crisp picture during all hours you can certainly save with a TV (and not having to purchase a separate screen), but you don't get the same experience as a giant 120" ... MoreI've got this projector paired with a Vividstorm S Pro 120, along with Klipsch Reference Premier with a Denon receiver. Plus, if your screen is retractable, you can put it in front of a window, block daylight, and retract your screen and still be able to see out of your window. The screen is a must though, and finding furniture to fit a 107" width screen if you don't plan on hanging it can be a bother.

I wanted to love this so much!

Samsung is a totally manual adjustment process.I have a £2k premium ALR screen which produces amazing 4k pictures with the Optoma, however this is where it all started to go wrong with the LS9PT. Because the projector needs to sit much closer to the screen I had unbearable laser speckle. 4k & Full HD videos looked appalling. It looked likeIi was watching SDR content rather than 4k video. I tried everything over a couple of days to sort this issue as I was desperate for the projector to work. I read hours of forum post where the LS9PT is discussed as well as watching lots of youtube videos. It does seem that the LS9PT suffers from laser speckle or glittering in quite a big way according to other independent reviewers. I spent hours adjusting the image trying to tone down the speckling but to no avail. I did speak with Samsung tech support, but to be totally honest based on my previous experiences with Samsung support and their customer service I did not hold out much hope. Every time I had had to deal with Samsung customer care team they have proved to be abysmal - they never understand what you are saying to them and you just go round and round in circles. My experience this week was no different. I love Samsung products, they definitely make the nicest looking tech, but they seriously let their customers down with there customer care. I feel this massively damages their brand. I found the whole process of dealing with Samsung Customer Services extremely stressful and even distressing!I was left with little choice but to very regretfully return the LS9PT. It was actually devastated as i loved the projector, but there was no way i could cope with the extremely poor video output. I did consider just accepting the laser speckle as i really did love the projector, but at over £3k i just couldn't justify it. I am not sure if this is a problem with how the triple laser works or if it is just due to the fact the projector has to be so much closer to my screen, causing huge light reflection and hotspots. Bizarrely there are absolutely no settings to turn down the brightness on this projector!! On my Optoma everything is fully adjustable including the brightness. I honestly think that if Samsung introduced a firmware update to reduce the brightness then this may have solved the appalling laser speckle/glittering effect.Positives from this projector are, looks amazing, fantastic Tizen UI - much much better than Optoma. All the VOD apps you could ever want in the UK. Built in DVB tuner (amazing!). Fantastic eye popping colour.Negatives are, no brightness control, no USB DVR facilities for recording live tv. Massive amount of Laser Speckle/Glittering which makes the image look like 30yr old SD content!I truly am so upset that i am forced to return the LS9PT. I wanted to love it so much. I don't want to put anyone off of purchasing this device, however if they don't sort out the laser speckle then you may find yourself in the same situation that i was in. Gutted isn't the word!Final word - Samsung PLEASE sort out your customer care!!! It is beyond awful, so much so that it puts me off of buying your brand!! Train them, reading from a script is just frustrating to your loyal customers who love your products!

I literally just picked this up today so hopefully I’m not speaking too soon LOL but this thing is cool! I can’t believe I never knew how amazing projectors were; or maybe just this one? I have it playing on a large plain textured white wall. No screen or anything and it’s perfect for me. I was looking for something easily hide-able for my minimalist vibe bedroom and this is nicer than I imagined it would be. I’m stupid with setting things up and this was so easy to set up, barely needed to adjust anything luckily. The speaker is amazing quality also. I’m just truly impressed and in love and I don’t think I’ll ever buy a normal tv again. Projector is the way to go!! I hope the quality lasts and doesn’t give me any issues but the quality is so good!!!

Incredible!
5 October 2022

I own a Samsung LSP9T UST Laser TV and I have to admit that it delivers exceptional performance and viewable picture size, especially given the unit’s relatively small foot print! The image is vibrant, crisp and clear. I definitely do not find myself missing the LG OLED “wall paper” TV that I owned previously. My LSP9T unit blows away the performance of my LG OLED TV in all ways with the one exception of black levels (which is to be expected). I highly recommend this unit, as watching TV and movies at home will never be the same again! The Samsung LSP9T definitely delivers a true-to-life home cinema viewing experience, especially if paired with a high quality UST ambient light rejecting screen (I chose a 110” screen and it’s amazing).

I am writing about my brand new Samsung LSP9T projector. I was going to build a movie room in my basement...that is, until I started realizing the overall cost. To put together a pretty great room, all included, it was going to be in the neighborhood of $50,000-$60,000. I say that because if you are also looking in that direction, you can get a quality of the movie room for a fraction of the cost with this ultra short throw projector. now, I'm not saying it's inexpensive (try to get it when it's on sale...by the way, I bought mine at full price, about $6,500, but it went on sale the week after I bought it. IF this happens to you, call their 'price match' hotline or whatever, and they will honor the discount. I was willing to pay $6,500 for it, but wound up getting $1,500 back! Heckuva deal if you ask me! As for performance, several key points - 1) it can operate to the full 130'' screen. Moving from 55'' above a fireplace mantle to the side wall is incredible. 2) You will have to address daytime light in the room...ambient light does affect the contrast/ability to see the screen...but then again, that's why you don't have a window on the side wall of a movie theater room. It performs EXCELLENT at night if you have windows in the room like I do. I will be getting light cancelling curtains eventually. 3) Everywhere I read, they recommend a screen, and that might help with my 2nd point, but just on my regular painted white wall, it seems to work just fine. I will eventually paint the wall using matte gray paint, or screen paint gray, but for right now, i think it does just fine as it is. 4) I paid $200 for the total tech thing they offered, but the way I split up payment (about half on a best buy card, half on my own credit card), they said I can either pay no interest for 24 months on the card, or if I pay the entire amount off in 30 days from purchase, I'll get $200 store credit (so, basically pays for the total tech...and/or I can buy something else, like speakers. Because I heard horror stories of the LSP9T not working out of the box, I wanted to have a) the ability to return it without a restocking fee, b) getting the total tech got me 60 days, not 15 days to return it, so no restocking fee and 60 days to return (I kept the box just in case), c) full Geek support for the 1st year, so if the lamp goes somehow in the 1st year, they will replace the lamp, or entire thing in the 1st year, AND a 2nd year coverage of just parts...for as much as I paid, if it doesn't break down in those 60 days, it better not break down for the life of it (which is on average, 4 hrs per day for 17 yrs!!!. 5) Speaking of speakers, the actual sound bar on the LSP9T itself is very serviceable. It not going to give you surround sound results, but I found it pretty great. 6) operating system - I'm a Samsung guy, so my phone is Samsung. Most of my TV's are samsung...and i promise you, I get paid $0 to say that. the operating system is very easy to manage (2 of my tv's have a very similar system, so already knew how to operate it). I was able to download apple TV+ which was not loaded when I got it. All the apps work just fine. 7) The room I have this in is 9 or 10 ft high...I recommend buying a low-profile table, as the screen will take up most of your wall. If you have a low ceiling, but have a regular tv height stand, you're not going to be able to get the maximum size out of the projector. 8) even though the device has an auto-dimmer if you accidentally pop your head over the top of the lens, just be very careful...the 1st time I went to look at something in the back of the projector with it on, it did delay to turn off, so I almost caught 2,800 lumens right in my eyes...don't do that! You'll see the one picture my dog appears to be close to doing that. I assure you he was far enough away, and I don't let him get anywhere near it.I've only had the projector for about 2 weeks now. But, I must say it has impressed me every step of the way. I need the light cancelling curtains to see if there is an improvement to daytime tv watching, but night time tv watching is pretty incredible. I don't see it as an expensive $5,000 purchase...I see it as paying 1/10th the cost I might have paid if I went forward with building a home movie theater for $50,000! AND, I'm getting the same screen size. And I have $200 towards getting a surround sound system to add to the room...very satisfied...so far!

In general, I had expected more of this quite expensive product. There is a lot to be said about its good features elsewhere but I want to list here the things that stop me from giving this product 5 stars:- when watching 4k video, any fast eye movement can trigger DLP Rainbow Effect. I definitely did not expect that from a laser system- when playing streams from a harddrive, the system regularly tells me that certain codecs are not supported, most annoying one is DTSHD audio support missing.- the provided internet browser is not able to stream web videos - playing something from an alternative source like odysee is not supported.- the close distance projection requires a seriously flat projection surface. My previous CRT projector (for long distance) has some 40 screen adjustment points and it is a Sony from the mid 90's that is better to adjust than this one.- because of angle, for a 130" wide screen in a normal high room (ca. 2.4m to the ceiling) the projector is standing on the floor for me, which is making it prone to be kicked or scratched during room cleaning and other activities.- the horizontal alignment is done using screw feet like with the cheapest projectors you can find in Aliexpress. In this price category I'd have expected something able to adjust itself automatically or with a remote that does not require me to lie on the floor.- Samsungs "smart" OS is very limiting on the applications you can run on it. I feel tempted to root this thing and install a plain Linux on it to make it fit my needs.

It's bright, very user friendly UI, speakers are LOUD, colors and contrast are great. Turns on and off fast. Quiet. No bugs, glitches, crashes so far. Casting with ease from both Apple and Microsoft laptops and Chromecast and iPhone. Chromecast can be bossy about what you can and can't cast like unsanctioned streams so it is nice to have the other options. Had to use Samsung support to troubleshoot the Microsoft cast at first, and support was great, but while they were escalating it, it turned out my computer just had to be restarted so was probably the problem to begin with. Didn't hear back from the escalation I no longer needed when they said I would, though, FWIW.Haven't tried gaming yet. Trying different configurations on wall before I decide if I want to get a screen, how big, etc. Currently casting directly on one whole wall of my bedroom at 180" (!!!) for funsies. Wall is textured (sanded off the bumpier parts) so would bug the connoisseurs out, but I'm still tripping re: movie theater size, actors being bigger than I am, seeing my coworkers in weirdly large detail during Zooms ?? . It's specced at 130" tops, but working great and focused at 180" too, including top corners. I didn't think I'd use the TV tuner, but I keep turning it on without any purpose in mind and getting sucked into random programming.Drawbacks:- Yeah I can see the rainbow effect but it is not large, and I only really notice it with subtitles (coz glancing). - No direct brightness control as far as I've seen and red, which is annoying. The different general video settings accomplish that purpose well enough for me though. Have to wonder if this would be more problematic if I got a screen which would increase the brightness, might be blinding at night.-Box is indeed white. Make of that what you will.

Just pure joy! Excellent vibrant colors, very bright projector with excellent contrast. It just exceeded my expectations, I never expected these vivid colors from projector, from TV yes - but not from projector. It has this WOW effect first time you turn it on and start looking at hdr youtube videos, it's very clear and vivid colors. Before that I had 5040 Epson, Sony vpl-hw45es, and still have 65 OLED CX by LG, which were all great products and I thought I was spoiled by them. It works, and you can watch youtube, netflix, disney - anything, but feels a bit slow. After some time I just connected my desktop to it and this is where I truly started enjoy this projector, played some games, browse internet - it's just a pure joy.

Spectacular, just blown away!
7 September 2021

I had a chance to try this projector for month. One of my friends lent it to me while he was away!First of all whoever think getting a projector is not a good idea over any kind of TV because of the image quality,is very wrong. The LSP9T easily matching the 2019 QLEDs in any aspect of quality for images, motion etc. even performing better and it gives a huuuuuge image on your screen, yes screen you will want one.Samsung says these could work on white walls very well,I dont really agree with that one.So the picture while watching Sky TV,Netflix,PC,XBOX is just from an other universe, though you will need a half dark room at least.I wish Samsung would concentrate to cut it’s short throw projector’s RRP because this is the future of home cinema experience not the ... MoreI had a chance to try this projector for month. One of my friends lent it to me while he was away!First of all whoever think getting a projector is not a good idea over any kind of TV because of the image quality,is very wrong. The LSP9T easily matching the 2019 QLEDs in any aspect of quality for images, motion etc. even performing better and it gives a huuuuuge image on your screen, yes screen you will want one.Samsung says these could work on white walls very well,I dont really agree with that one.So the picture while watching Sky TV,Netflix,PC,XBOX is just from an other universe, though you will need a half dark room at least.I wish Samsung would concentrate to cut it’s short throw projector’s RRP because this is the future of home cinema experience not the TV!Samsung is way better manufacturing in this segment than the TVs where, well LG and Sony are just on another level with their OLED range!Have some negatives though: the operating system could do a redesign, maybe they should allow a double booting option for android TV access. Also for this price you would expect a screen to come with and at least a 5/6 years of warranty.I really wish they just give up making TVs and concentrate only short throw projectors.I think if Samsung could produce a product like the LSP9T for less than £2K,that would be the best selling product Samsung might have ever done.So I enjoyed my short time with this projector, but for now that was it.Buying this product is a no brainer if you can afford it,many of us just cant :(((

UST Project with Class!
5 October 2022

My Premiere UST has a fantastic screen size 130" that fills my movie room for hours of enjoyment for my family. The color, contrast and brightness are all great and more importantly realistic. We use this for streaming services via 5 different providers via a fiber optic internet link. The set up was pretty straight forwarded but it take some trial and error on my part. I had to call in for support one time but the support group was very helpful. The only thing that I am trying to work around is a small amount of screen motion judder issues on some action movies. I am still trying to understand the picture advanced settings (and understand the streaming service limitations or the impact of the type of movie for example FPS content). Otherwise I am very happy.
