Again, that would have been useful if it wasn't only compatible with a USB-C ports that're only on mobile computing devices which have bluetooth anyway. Most people would use a USB port, power bank or wall charger to charge these and the majority of those still come with a USB-A connection, so the C to C connection doesn't really make the most sense. At least if it was standard USB-A on one end you'd be able to use it wired, but oh well. This is clearly aimed at Mac users first, Android second and Windows very last, as such the "Windows" key and ALT keys are swapped around if you are used to Windows keyboards which can cause some annoyance when first transitioning over. Not the keyboard's fault as it's clearly shown in the photos, just something to be aware of if you use multiple keyboards in your day. You may be able to switch these over in software somehow. Overall a nice keyboard with some quirks. Would be nice if there was a dedicated Windows version but it's manageable, seems to be the only real decent aluminium keyboard on the market at this price so I'm happy.

This keyboard is amazing! It's exactly what I was looking for, but at half the cost of the Apple version. It's a well-built, sturdy, and premium keyboard. I think my only complaints (very small) are that the Bluetooth switch rattles a little bit, but I don't notice at all when I'm typing because it's a pretty hefty keyboard. This leads me to the other thing I noticed – this is definitely a work-from-home keyboard. If you're looking for something lighter, I'd recommend Satechi's smaller version (I think the X2). Lastly, the keys take a bit of getting used to. They have a softer click than Apple's Magic Keyboard. Overall – great keyboard. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend!

This hits all the right buttons, pun intended. It's comfortable to use, feels like a Mac Keyboard, it's wireless and it's backlit. One issue: I'm running OS Monterey, and on start-up, the keyboard can't connect to Bluetooth, so at first I had to plug in the keyboard, which worked fine, but was a bit of a bother. I tried finding out if Satechi had any similar complaints, or maybe even a solution. Their problem is they never pick up their phone or return messages. Zero stars for them, and one star off for the keyboard. Other than that, it's an excellent reliable keyboard. So far I've gone a week without charging it, so battery life is very good.

I purchased the Satechi - Slim X3 Full-Size Bluetooth Scissor Keyboard Backlit Keys - Space Gray because I needed a backlit keyboard. At the time I purchased, I had been using the Mac Magic Keyboard. I have fairly good typing skills, but in dark environments, I was constantly trying to type with my hands misplaced on the keyboard, as the Magic Keyboard does not have a very pronounced home key slot for the index fingers and Mac doesn't make a backlit version. I have only had the Satechi keyboard for 1 day, but it has fixed my problems with hand placement (especially in the dark due to backlit capability of the Satechi). It's auto-off function is useful because if I'm not actively typing, it will conserve the battery and then quickly (maybe 2 seconds?) reconnect to my MacBook Air at the touch of a key. I haven't had any issues with battery life, although I am pretty thorough about my charging every two weeks overnight. That being said, the charging port is located in a super convenient spot so you can charge while you use it. (Apple's isn't.) 4) Has a wide Ctrl key. (Lots of similar third-party keyboards have a square control key to make room for a Fn key. I don't want to fight my muscle memory to use basic shortcuts.) Using this keyboard at work gives me more space than the old keyboard I was using. I have it paired to a Windows PC and have not had any issues navigating with this made-for-Mac keyboard, The sound of the keys is not as defined/tight as the wireless Magic Keyboard, but again, it is second to that keyboard. Battery life significantly decreases when using backlighting, which for me is fine because I easily leave the keyboard charging when I end my shift, ready with a full batter the next day. I am very pleased with the Slim X3 Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard and it's features! I like the stylish and minimalist look, the build quality is really good, and the backlighting is nice! It feels sturdy and reliable unlike any keyboard I've owned! Every keyboard I've tried until now we're plastic in feel, light, and felt like they could break easily from constant use. Even in the same or double the price range as the Slim X3 keyboard. I haven't had to charge the battery yet either, so the battery life must be good. All in all I'd say this was a great purchase and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product to others!!
It gets 3 stars because I'm always misspelling things due to it falling asleep. I wish it could wake up when I move my mouse because I always mess up my password because the first 4 letters get lost. I have to calmly press space bar... wait a beat... then type in my password. it would be amazing if it had some internal memory for remembering the keys that were typed and then just buffering them. anyway the multi devices are nice. I also wish this one had a spaces button.

Although the product descriptions steers people away for some reason, there is absolutely no reason to avoid this if you are using a windows machine. all media keys/function keys default and work, etc. ) Here is my one design complaint ...and many backlit chiclets suffer from this: because the key cap edges do not extend down below past the bed they rest in, we have much light coming from around and underneath the keys, thus illuminating everything BUT the letter or number. : ( The light leakage is very bright compared to the key character, which appears dim by comparison. This is at every angle, other than looking straight down at the keyboard.... which no one would ever do. Yeah of course I can see the keys I need but the keyboard would be legit if it controlled the light leakage, IMO. I'm interested ONLY in finding the key I need in no light situations... not the bling. The Logitech version of this set-up I had to return for this guy as the Logitech's motion sensors were not able to function in no-light situations to turn the lighting back on after timing out and there was no way to disable that feature. With the Satechi I can control when I need backlighting. Just remember to turn it off if you will be using it all day unplugged and don't need the backlighting. good keyboard! but it has a tiny battery. Minimal battery ageing will hamstring the device. Really I feel like Satechi owes me a new battery. But it can't be replaced........
