Best gas can ever!

This is an amazing gas can. It holds gas beautifully. It's probably the best gas can for holding gas ever. When it's full, you can use it to fill up your various small engine equipment, like a lawn mower or snow blower, etc. If you're a gym rat, you can also do a couple farmers carry reps. It's really quite versatile. The red really stands out and pops with most outfits and the yellow spout is just a wonderful accent. You'll look fine with this gas can for sure. Totally recommend!

I can't say enough about this gas can! It completely encapsulates my fuel! I know crazy right? Once the fuel goes in, it won't come out until you want it to. I have never such a wonderful combination of magic and physics, simply reverse the spout and tilt the can.... BAM gas floes back out. From my experience I have not found a limit on how many times you can refill and empty this can. I can't wait to see the next joint effort of Merlin and Isaac Newton

Scepter has really improved their designs and I am very happy with this 25L can. The 25 litre design doesn't take up a lot more space than the 20 litre model. The older designs had a tendency to warp when stored in locations that got hot (ie a shed). I've had a couple of the newer designs and find they resist these much better. Not perfect but still a much improved design. The spout is great and allows for a good flow. A word of warning, make sure you're strong enough to hold it up to whatever vehicle you're going to refuel. The extra 5 litres (vs a normal 25 litre design) can make it quite challenging. Especially if you're holding it up in colder temperatures.

Jerry can is robust
5 June 2023

Purchased two additional jerry cans for the trip from Ontario to Alberta (a total of 5) to reduce the costs of driving through Northern areas of Ontario where gas prices were significantly higher. Best investment for carrying extra fuel whenever and wherever you need.

Leaky Gas Container
1 March 2022

Good with the exception of the vent cap. I bought four of these and to close or open requires a lot of force on the cap in order for it to engage the threads which is annoying and time consuming, especially in cold weather. I suspect most people give up before getting a seal and then risk spillage in their vehicle during transportation from the gas station.A slight design modification by the manufacturer could easily correct this.

Remember to take off that little yellow safety cap...
23 February 2020

Renovations/confusion as to where this item was because Canadian tire moved it and it's not were its supposed to be... but then the more frustrating part.I read all the English I could find readable and followed all the directions I could decipher. I tried for atleast a half hour playing with different parts, (air vent/ black safety ring etc) trying to figure out why this stupid thing wasnt letting the gas out into the car. Well.... theres a very sneaky yellow cap thing between the nossel and the can that I missed. Probably because its yellow like the nozzle and I thought it was part of the nozzle. But after I reevaluated this stupid device I realized that was the problem. Took it out and replaced it after I filled the car.

So far so good
14 August 2023

It does its job and for a reasonable price. The nozzle on the last jerrycan (a smaller one) snapped off after a couple of years (and that makes it much more difficult to use and to transport). This one seems durable but I am withholding a star to see how long it lasts.

Total Garbage!! Do.Not.Buy...
4 November 2015

This is pure junk - Do Not Buy!!It is made of the cheapest plastic possible. It will inflate and get so round in the summer heat (stored in a vented, insulated shed, out of the sun, on the floor at the coolest place) that it will not sit flat and it looks like it will explode.Since there is no vent cap, when you open the main nozzle, fuel is forced up the nozzle because it can't be depressurized before opening. Even when the can is only half full, it will send fuel spewing everywhere because the nozzle goes down quite a way in the tank. Of course, a half empty tank contains more air which needs to be vented. In this case, it not air, but fuel that is vented in large quantities to whatever is within 5 feet of the can. Then there is the cheap, ultra thin plastic ... MoreThis is pure junk - Do Not Buy!!It is made of the cheapest plastic possible. Of course, a half empty tank contains more air which needs to be vented. In this case, it not air, but fuel that is vented in large quantities to whatever is within 5 feet of the can. Then there is the cheap, ultra thin plastic nozzle - it is so thin that it cannot maintain a proper seal between the cap and can while pouring, as the nozzle base distorts with the slightest pressure. It is so bad that the nozzle actually pulled right out of the cap while I was pouring and trying to shift the can for a better grip (it is incredibly slow to pour, and I didn't let the full weight of the can rest on the nozzle). This caused fuel to spill everywhere on my shoes, in the lake, in the boat... See pic of base distortion and partially pulled out nozzle - note that I pulled it out from a tight cap, without much effort, for this review. The cheap, ultra thin nozzle - It will crack in the cold resulting in fuel everywhere again.Did I mention the cheap, ultra thin nozzle? - it will also kink (it is supposed to be able to flex slightly, which is why it has the accordion shape) at the slightest movement, which cuts of the fuel and air flow to an already painfully slow pour rate. See pics of kink and ultra small air vent.If you want to protect the environment, save your clothing, your driveway, whatever and where ever you put gas in really, plus save yourself a bundle in fuel bills, Do Not Buy This Garbage!!p.s. all the plastic gas, diesel and kerosene cans sold at CT are of the same cheap design. Buyer beware.p.p.s. This is not a "lemon" or unlucky buy - I have friends with the same gas cans and they all have the same problems. This is not a revenge review because I'm upset at having bought garbage, it is honest and I have put considerable effort into this review to help you

Vent-astic
1 March 2018

So far, no leaks, no issues with this can.The cans without vents are a pain in the butt, but this has a vent, so it flows quickly. The vent cap is a two-piece design and you have to press it in and turn it to open or close the vent. If you don't press, nothing happens when you turn and you'll likely have a leaky vent until you close it properly. These cans hold up just fine if you don't abuse them. You have to be able to support the weight of the full container while pouring it into a gas tank, otherwise you'll eventually mangle the spout. The fast flow helps. CT carries replacement spouts. When storing fuel, you should periodically check for excess pressure and vent it off. Don't overfill; that's how you end up with a bloated can.

What's old is new again, but still leaks vapours.
19 February 2019

Latest redesign with the old capped-vent added back onto the vent-tube molded into the spout design; prior redesign with ratchet "locking" vented spout and no capped vent; original design with capped vent and no vent-tube molded spout: ALL will leak fuel vapours.I know how to fill the containers to the fill-line; how to align vent tube when pouring so it doesn't chug; how to tighten the ratchet so the seals are not pinched or stripped; how the containers expand and contract during hot and cold spells.Emptied my Scepters: gas smells went away.
