This is the first time I've tried a Schick razor or the Hydro Skin Comfort cartridges. I have been using another brand with seven blades for years until their quality dropped off. I have a coarse beard and I love the comfort and closeness of the shaves these cartridges give, however, the gel pools on the cartridge tend to get stringy and comes off after a few shaves. The cartridges continue to give a close shave for well over a week before I have to change them. The razor handle is made in China and I've had a cartridge come off the handle three times in a weeks time so I think the handle design could be improved.

I have been shaving with these blades for years . They are way better that the Gillette products and it probably has a lot to do with the coconut oil lubrication from the hydro blades. I change the blade every 2 months . That's 60 shaves and it works fine at the end . DISCLAIMER: I am an old guy and my beard is not as testosterone driven thick and fast growing as when I was young. No more "5 O'clock shadow" like I can see in old photos when I was in my 20s.

I've been buying blades for my Schick Hydro 5 razor for a while now, so, I can tell the difference between the real deal and a cheap version of a product. These blades, unfortunately, seem to be the second option. After the second shave, they start feeling a little rough, whereas the ones I usually get, they tend to really last me for almost month (I don't shave daily, but I would say I tend to do it every other day). The gel doesn't last for more than a week, but the blades usually remain sharp after it's gone. In the case of these latest blades I bought, the gel it's still there, but they're started to loose it's edge too soon. I usually buy in bundles and have no problem whatsoever with the product. Unfortunately, there's always a first time. I don't believe these are original but rather knockoffs. The blade I am using is okay but the blades are visually not all evenly spaced. I have 2 Schick Hydro razors - one for traveling and one for home. I just replaced my travel one with my last new blade from the store. I then got these blades and replaced my home blade, so it is interesting to compare these pretty much side by side. Besides the visual difference, the blade from the store is a much smoother shave. I was getting multiple nicks shaving with this blade from EBay the first 3 or 4 times. It's not doing that now. I guess you get what you pay for. Don't think I will likely order these again.
I needed more razors so instead of buying them in a store again I decided to look online and found these sold in groups of 40. It is the best price per razor I could find both online and stores. My facial hair isn't very thick so I only have to shave every 2 to 3 days and change the razor every two months. This lot of 40 will last me about 6.5 years! If you're someone that needs to shave every day or even twice a day this still a screamin' deal cause you can't beat the price per razor. The only thing I don't like about the hydro 5 is the fold up thing at the end with the white dots, they come in blue and the sensative razors are green. I the razors were perfect before they started adding that flip up bar thing. The only thing I don't like about the hydro 5 is the fold up thing at the end with the white dots, they come in blue and the sensative razors are green. I the razors were perfect before they started adding that flip up bar thing. When I shave I do 2 maybe 3 passes per area to get all the stubble. Having that bar with dots on end removes the remaining moisture of the shaving gel from my face and when I make a 2nd or 3 pass my skin is dry and more sensative to the razor and will leave red rashy looking patches. I put the razor on the handle and pull the green thing back until it pops out of the hinge points and throw it away. It doesn't break though because it is made of a flexible plastic. That's just one man's opinion, maybe other guys like it.
I have tried many other blades over the years and have found the Schick Hydro Skin Comfort blades to be a great value because the blades stay sharp over several weeks and I have a coarse beard that dulls other blades. The razor itself could use some improvements because several times my razor cartridge has come off while shaving. Other than that I highly recommend these blades.
I have used disposable razors for years because I couldn't find anything better that justified the higher cost, and was against the "mega-blade" razors because of my past experience with the. If 2 or 3 blade razors pulled and caused skin irritation then more blades would be worse. That has now changed and I'll never go back. . Not only do these blades glide across the skin so much smoother than 2, 3, 4 blade systems, they shave closer with far less irritation and last longer. Store prices are high so buying online is really the way to go. At the rate I was going through disposables I expect my shaving expense with this blade will be the same or less. Better, closer, more comfortable and long lasting. What's not to like?
I believe this product might be a fake or v old stock, in which case the gel pods would be not effective. I believe it is the former. It is advertised as Hydro Sense, but when i received it the packaging, it did NOT have the word 'Sense' on it...the front design is v similar to the actual product.First use was not bad , but subsequent shaves the blade didnt seem as sharp, leading me to believe the quality is very poor. I wont be re-purchasing this item, unlike many others on iHerb site.
These blades do not work. They do not cut facial hair or thin leg hair. They do irritate skin and they did give me and my husband rashes.I have been using the Hydro 5 blades in various dry skin/sensitive skin for over four years and have progressively noticed the declining quality in a clean easy shave. Causing rashes and leaving patches of hair were not an issue until my last purchase.I am so disappointed and, sadly, I cannot recommend Schick products. (Nor can I recommend Gillette or Harry's or Dollar Shave Club - all of these products have failed my Husband and I).I do want to say that customer service reps were very empathetic, but I'm afraid this is still a large company who is vastly removed from their customers.
I HATE SHAVING! Nuff said. I have tried every razor, soap, cream, and lather known to man in order to mitigate the scourge of scraping off facial hair. The Schick Hydro Razor and Hydro Cream combo are about as nothing as you can get...and by nothing I mean good. You use the cream, get out the razor, and you feel...well, nothing! The save is that smooth. I have no stock in Schick and I do not care if you buy or not. Personally, I think the price of each cartridge is a little high, but I can get 10-12 shaves per cartridge which works out to about $0.25 per shave. I now tolerate shaving and my face feels as smooth as a baby's bottom every time.
