Sea to Summit Comfort Light Insulated Mat - Regular
Sleeping well when you're backpacking goes hand-in-hand with sleeping comfortably. The Comfort Light Insulated Sleeping Mat uses Air Sprung Cell technology and a hybrid matrix of offset cells to provide amazing stability and comfort. A double layer of cells in the torso increases warmth, while a single layer of cells in the head and legs reduces weight. Thermolite and Exkin Platinum are used to optimize heat retention and the multi-function valve enables simple inflation, deflation and the ability to fine-tune your personal comfort level. What's more, the uprated 30D/40D face fabric is quiet and durable, while the lamination technology continues Sea to Summit’s class-leading reliability. Features 3.7 R-Value is warm enough for all but the coldest ground. Exkin Platinum insulation reflects radiant heat, while Thermolite insulation prevents convective heat loss. Hybrid-Layer Air Sprung Cells provide more support, insulation and comfort in the torso. Quick and easy inflation, deflation and adjustment is made possible by our multi-function valve and supplied Airstream Pump/stuff sack. Lighter, quieter and durable 30D/40D face fabric with Sea to Summit’s liquid-extruded lamination is extremely reliable. Anti-microbial treatment added to the TPU lamination formula prevents internal mold growth. PillowLock system prevents your Sea to Summit Aeros Pillow from slipping. Comes with a stuff sack which doubles as a pump, a repair kit with six self-adhesive patches and a spare valve insert. Airstream Pump/Stuff Sack can be used to inflate Aeros Pillows – turn the inflator bag inside out; the nozzle will fit the mini pillow valve.

Have used this on multiple overnight hikes. It's lightweight, packs down well and good build quality. Insulation level is fine for winter in SA, I haven't felt cold from the ground coming through the mat. Comfort wise I still get slightly sore hips as a side sleeper ( but I'm 190cm and 94kgs). I'd imagine it wouldn't be an issue for anyone a bit lighter. I wasn't remotely bothered by any 'noise' issue. I'll probably try a thicker mat but overall I'd say this is a great product. Both my late teen sons use it with no issues....but they weigh a lot less than me...

I went from a $30 amazon mat to this. It checks all the boxes: it's comfortable, it's quiet, it stays inflated all through the night, and it's really easy to inflate/deflate. With the stuff sack, inflating only takes me three breaths. I am 5'10 and 170lbs, back and side sleeper. With a size Regular, I have room at the head and foot and have no issue staying on the pad. I've paired this with the Sea to Summit Ascent 25-degree bag and been warm in 35 degree nights no problem. Haven't tested colder. My only complaint is, I honestly thought it was going to be a bit smaller than it is. I'm a bikepacker and it's definitely light enough, but I haven't found a convenient spot for it on my bike so I still need to keep it in a backpack. If you're going for an ultralight, ... If you're going for an ultralight, small bikepacking pad, there are probably pads that pack a little smaller for a little more money—but this one definitely does the trick for sleeping.

I bought this mattress 3 years ago and sadly it punctured twice on the first outing. Some sharp grass seeds got into my tent and punctured the mattress. Since it came with a patch kit I decided to patch it and the pad has been flawless ever since. The patch it worked well and was easy to use.The mattress is warm and I never feel cold coming from the ground. After 40 years of trying just about every Thermarest that comes on the market all of which started leaking in the first few uses it is remarkable to finally have an air mattress that works. Hopefully it will continue to hold air and work. The mattress is so good I am thinking of buying another model just because I like things that work like they are supposed to. :)

Bought this for use with my treck 3 sleeping bag.Not quite as warm as I expected but it was on very moist ground and 6-8 degrees at night. The included pump sack was amazing. First one I’ve used that really works.Regarding noise that others have noted, I honestly didn’t have that experience. Yes, you can hear the pad when you move, but it’s definitely nothing like a bag of chips.I felt it was well built and durable. Packs down to a 1.5l coke bottle.Make sure you match your sleeping pad to your conditions as it’s almost half of your warmth of your sleep system!
I always like to wait until I've used items like this multiple times before I write a review so I can be sure to really road test it. When I first received these sleeping pads, I was leery about how thin and lightweight the material was and was concerned they would puncture easily or otherwise be fragile, and I was also concerned they wouldn't be as comfortable as my older (and more bulky) pads. I have now used them on several backpacking and car camping trips and have found they are totally durable and are without a doubt the most comfortable pads I have ever slept on. It is amazing how light they are and how small they are when stowed and I am absolutely amazed with how comfortable they are - I'm in my late 50's and have used lots of pads over the years and these ... It is amazing how light they are and how small they are when stowed and I am absolutely amazed with how comfortable they are - I'm in my late 50's and have used lots of pads over the years and these are the best. I couldn't be more pleased. I really like how the pillow attaches to the pad and I like how I can fill them up with the stuff sack, although it is a bit challenging to get the stuff sack to open up fully so it is full of air for filling purposes...only a minor thing but the one aspect I'd suggest they work on improving for those times it's really cold or otherwise you want to fill up the pad quickly. Thanks again - I'm thoroughly impressed and pleased and my back thanks you.
I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this particular item has so aroused my ire that I feel it necessary. The stuff sack has this weird inner bladder that you are supposed to inflate with air and then roll up to squeeze the air into the pad. This thing just irritates me. The fitting on the bladder does not stay securely in the pad, so much of the air escapes while trying to breathe into it. You also have to use several breaths to inflate the bladder which means you have to awkwardly try to close the top part off while you inhale. If you aren't super careful, the fitting on the bottom will disconnect. As I was fiddling with it, I thought "why not just blow into the mattress and skip this weird bladder thing?" Then I cut the inflation part out of the ... MoreI don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this particular item has so aroused my ire that I feel it necessary. Then I cut the inflation part out of the stuff sack and tried to figure out what I could do with it. It is a singularly useless piece of equipment. The pad is pretty dope though. I am sticking with the pad. I'll just blow it up with my kisser.
This sleeping mat by Seatosummit is a really great mat. It is comfortable, warm and easy to inflate. My issues are not with this product specifically but with all mats in general. It is Very noisy to sleep on when turning in your sleep. So much so I try not to move so not to wake up people in other tents. Another issue with mats in general is they are very slick and slide out from underneath you while your sleeping or if your tent isnt perfectly level the mat and you included will slide down the slightest bit of decline imaginable. I would like to see Seatosummit address these issues that were unexpected in a high end sleeping mat.
Bought this to fit in a small place while moto touring hut still need a comfortable sleep. Took a chance at $150 and it turned out superb. Very easy to inflate and very comfortable. Slept great. Read a bit here about them being a bit noisy and yeah I get that now but it didn’t disturb my sleep and wasn’t a bother at all. Have recommended to others and they’ve purchased two more for bicycle touring. Great product. Delivery as always from Snowys is super efficient.
I used this mat for a week camping in Victoria. Its an excellent Mat, very comfortable. I also own a sea to summit comfort plus which is even more comfortable. I purchased this one for 2 reasons - my daughter would not go camping without a comfortable sleeping mat and so she uses the comfort plus. Second, i wanted something lighter for trekking. So if your car camping and don't have to worry about weight go for the comfort plus. Its amazingly comfortable. The comfort light is also very good, but not quite as comfortable as the comfort plus. Regarding noise - yes it is noisy. It doesn't wake me up but my daughter is a light sleeper. She was so comfortable on the comfort plus that she didn't wake up from the noise. If your a really light sleeper take ear plugs. The pump sack is awesome and makes it really easy to pump. Deflation valves are excellent and deflation time is very quick. I slept down to 3 degrees in Victoria on the comfort light with no issues. I have slept on the comfort plus to 1 degree without issues. I use a sea to summit down sleeping bag and thermal liner - I am a cold sleeper. Bottom line is I highly recommend the sea to summit sleeping mats. If comfort and weight are your considerations you can't go past this the comfort light it's an awesome mat. If you don't have to worry about weight then go for something in the sea to summit range that's heaver and more comfortable. Value for money is excellent - you cannot put a price on a good nights sleep.
This is the second S2S Comfort Light Insulated pad I had had-- the first one began to leak air after ~1 year of use, so after patching I sent it in for repair. I was told that the pad had a (rare) manufacturing defect that couldn't be fixed and was promptly sent a new one. This one holds air fine so far (I've had it and used it consistently for ~3 months). It's a comfortable pad, quiet, and feels like a soft mattress. I think it's the most comfortable for back sleepers and those who prefer a plusher mattress in "frontcountry" life. My partner has a backpacking pad from another company that feels firmer and would maybe be preferable to a side sleeper, but this one is warm, comfortable, and at least this one appears to be fairly durable. I like the inflation using the air sac-- it is so much quicker than mattresses that need to be inflated by mouth. It does tend to slide around a little bit on the bottom of the tent compared to other mattresses-- I wonder if future versions of this mat could have a slightly grippier material on the bottom to prevent that from happening.
