Sea to Summit Comfort Light Insulated Sleeping Mat Women's -Regular
Part of the Sea to Summit Comfort Light range, this sleeping mat comes with a double layer of cells in the torso for added comfort and a single layer in the head and feet to reduce bulk when carrying on longer trips. Air Sprung Cells are the core award-winning technology behind this air mat range, instead of using a baffle construction, these mats use a dot-weld pattern which feels more comfortable when lying down as each cell conforms to the shape of your body. Exkin Platinum is a lightweight, quiet non-woven fabric that has a thin metalised layer that reflects radiant heat back to the user to increase thermal efficiency at night. Thermolite insulation is a featherless down alternative that performs well in the wet and is durable for use after use. The 30/40D nylon face fabric offers a great balance between weight and performance, strong enough to tackle abrasive terrain and the puncture repair kits included mean you can mend on the go. This mat comes with a women's specific shape that is wider at the hips and narrower at the shoulder.

I loved the features of this pad when testing it at home. I personally found the valve system very easy to work with. The stuff sack doubles as an air pump.Ultimately I have to return this pad due to the inaccurate listing. The current MEC listing says the large is 685g while S2S listed 715g on their own website. I measured 788g at home, a 15% difference from MEC's listing. Also, for whatever reason MEC currently lists this as a self-inflated mat, be warned it's air inflated! All of S2S's self-inflated pads have "SI" in the product name. Hope this helps!

Getting to this mat has been a process for me. After years of sleeping on the ground I finally stepped up to some egg-crate foam. After scolding myself for not having made that move years ago, I stepped up to a "self-inflating" pad that made things even better. However, I would often wake up with pain or stiffness in my hip. I assumed that was just a consequence of an aging body spending the night in a tent. Then I discovered this mat. What a difference! It is lighter than what I had been carrying and far more comfortable. Blowing it up (one of my concerns) is not a problem. Absolutely recommended!

I love this sleeping pad. I have had a few over the last 20 years, mostly ThermoLIte ones. This pad was so easy to inflate and the cushioning is outstanding (as I am a side sleeper and have problems with my hips bottoming out, but not with this one). Easy to deflate and pack back into its compression sack. The only downside is that this sleeping pad is very loud when you move around. Very loud! On the Appalachian trail, I think the other thru-hikers could hear every time I moved around. The rustling noise it makes is very noticeable. So, If you are with your loved one and looking for a zesty night, everyone will be hearing it! LOL!

Having never used a Sea to Summit pad before, I took FOREVER to decide. I'm a hunter that does count ounces, EXCEPT when it comes to my sleep system. I don't mind adding 10 ounces here or a 6 ounces there if it means that I am going to sleep cozy and get a better night's rest, especially on an extended hunt. I honed in on this pad or the Comfort Plus, but went with the Comfort Lite Sleeping Pad because it offered the dual layers on the core or torso of the pad (the Comfort Plus has dual layers throughout the entire pad) in a little lighter package. With the insulation, this pad has served me well on backpacking trips and high country mule deer hunts in CO. One of the best parts of it is how good the valve system is and how quickly it blows up and empties almost ... MoreHaving never used a Sea to Summit pad before, I took FOREVER to decide. With the insulation, this pad has served me well on backpacking trips and high country mule deer hunts in CO. One of the best parts of it is how good the valve system is and how quickly it blows up and empties almost instantly when it's go time. I've used a lot of brands, and this is by far the most comfortable night's sleep. If you're an ounce counter, this may not be for you, but if you are looking for comfort and warmth, this pad goes in my pack almost every time! One thing to note, if you're tall as I am, the long is 25" wide so it may not fit in some bags that have sleeves (Big Agnes Zirkel for example) so that's why there are a few occasions that this pad may stay at home.
I've used this on one four-day car camping trip so far and had a great experience. In the past I've had uncomfortable nights on inflatable mats (I don't like air beds either, I prefer the feel of foam over the feel of air). However, I slept suuuper comfortably on this mat, really great. Also pretty darn easy to inflate and deflate, and packs up light and small. I plan to use it for both backpacking and car camping and would definitely recommend it. My one qualm is that is has a low R rating, although I've heard from some gear heads that those are meaningless in practice (no clue if that's true). I haven't had a chance to try it out on cold ground yet, but am nervous to. Just something to consider.
Upgraded my 10+ year old self inflating mat with this Sea to Summit insulated mat. Primary reason for my upgrade was as a side sleeper, my old mat just wasn't thick enough and I would end up with hip pain. After using this a few time in cool conditions (0-5 overnight), I was very impressed. No more hip pain! Was toasty warm as an added bonus, didn't slide around all night and I was able to use the Pillow Loc function to keep my pillow where I wanted it.Not a problem for me, but can be a little noisy if you are a fidgety sleeper.Easy to set up and pack away. Very happy with this purchase
I absolutely love this sleeping pad. I have used a few others from big names in the outdoor industry and I always had the same two problems; a loud mat and an uncomfortable mat when I was on my side. I sleep on my side most of the time and this mat keeps me comfortable, not only that, it's QUIET, which I absolutely love. The insulation is an added bonus. While I'm not a cold sleeper, I do tend to get cold while camping, and I have not had this problem with this mat. This mat also has enough room in the hips to keep my entire body on the mat while on my side. I would recommend this mat to pretty much anyone looking to actually sleep comfortably outside.
I was super excited for this pad, as it is very lightweight and easy to inflate and has good insulating qualities. However, I slept on it 3 nights and had terrible back pain each time. The first night, I thought there was a rock or bump under my pad that was causing the issue but that was not the case. Second night, horrible back pain so I decided to deflate the pad slightly. Third night, horrible back pain again (kept tossing and turning from left side to back to right side). The 4th night I deflated it completely and slept on the ground. 4th night was the best night of sleep I had with only the deflated pad underneath me.
Took this bad boy out on some recent backpacking in the Grand Tetons (Wyoming) and Maroon Bells (Colorado). Major upgrade from my previous MEC pad (that's Canadian REI fyi). Very decent weight given how insanely comfy it is (my bf has the ultralight insulated which is also great, a little lighter). Night temps were around 40 degrees, and I was so toasty (paired with the REI Joule sleeping bag). Super comfy even on uneven surfaces. I sleep on my side/back/front etc. and it was all comfy. So nice to wake up without aches and pains when you are putting your body through grueling hikes! My only suggestion is to add a feature that would allow two Sea to Summit mats to attach/secure lengthwise to one another (velcro tabs? IDK). Especially if you already got bags that zip ... MoreTook this bad boy out on some recent backpacking in the Grand Tetons (Wyoming) and Maroon Bells (Colorado). such a comfortable sleeping pad. easy to inflate. lightweight. packs down pretty small. suuper glad i chose this for my backpacking. it makes some noise but not so much that people i've shared a tent with have ever had any problems. I move a lot in my sleep too. and the people i shared a tent with would tell me if i were being too loud ha. i would definitely buy this again
