This was recommended to me by a friend, but I was a bit sceptical because of how cheaply priced it was compared to other well known brands. How wrong I was; It is excellent!I thought my old vacuum was doing a reasonable job - I had used it two days prior to receiving my Shark and my carpet looked ok. I mistakenly bought the TruePet version, as I have no pets, but the special brush has turned out to be useful for other purposes, and there is hair shedding in my household. There are lots of good ideas in the machine which I like like the led lights up front, and the ability to separate the sucking bit from the frame and carry it around for stairs etc.It is light and sucks well. However the lightness is a bit of an own goal, as the machine falls over easily with the sucking wand removed. Not a problem with older heavier machines. I like being able to suck on carpets, rugs and hard floors without altering much. The first time I used this I thought it was great. My carpets came up really well.But I’ve been using it a couple of weeks now and I don’t think it’s fit for purpose, I’m really regretting buying this as I feel I need to replace it, yet I can’t return this as there isn’t any thing actually wrong with it.On hard floors it seems to move the dirt around, and not suck it up. When i switch off the hoover, loads of dirt falls out and I have to use my cordless Dyson to suck it up.The wand is almost useless too. Even with the attachments it’s hard to angle it correctly to actually suck anything up even though if I put my hand over it, it feels powerful suction.But when I put it over and dirt it hardly sucks it up. The power cord is a little bit shorter than we would have liked but the stretch hose is longer than our previous model so that was a big plus. The attachments are also really good for a variety of surfaces. The Shark works well on both carpet and hardwood floor and we like that the air vent to increase/decrease suction sits right by your thumb. The roller does well to pull up debris from carpet but it does 'skip' a bit when pulling back, which may be because there is still too much suction even with the vent open. I was hard up at the time and bought a 17 pound vac did half a job obviously and belted me with a bad electric shock luckily had my wellies on ! From plugging this beast in the unbelievable amount of crud it suck’s off all my floors is incredible after blitzing my home very easily also! as I’m disabled I sit down to vac sometimes , it’s so lightweight for a powerful cleaner and thorough job done !I need to rave about the shark shampoo machine spot cleaner it is the most incredible little thing ! An idiot can use it such as myself I’ve done mattresses with it also they are renewed and transformed like my carpets ! The suction on this hoover is above and beyond . We used to hoover twice daily beforehand and when we used this on our first run the bin was full . My husband felt sick we hoovered 3 times in succession and the bin was full the second time too . We thought our old hoover was doing ok ! Obviously not . I havent found a better solution for that yet .All in all i love it . The suction is unparalleled and the ease of use is great . I would like the car detailing kit i think that would be a great addition.
