Designed to keep your braking system cool on long, demanding descents, the XTR RT-MT900 Centerlock Disc Rotor rapidly dissipates heat for more consistent braking performance in extreme conditions, as well as longer pad life and reduced brake fade. These rotors are optimized for the XTR M9100 and M9120 brakes, and feature a new design that improves cooling and decreases weight compared to the previous version of the XTR rotor, the RT-99. Employing Shimano's Ice Technologies Freeza construction, these rotors use a 3-layer design consisting of two steel braking surfaces sandwiched over an aluminum core. This allows Shimano to take advantage of the high thermal conductivity of aluminum, whereas most companies simply use steel rotors. And thanks to a new heat dissipating paint on the exposed parts of the aluminum layer, the RT-MT900 rotors see their surface temperature cooled by up to 20-degrees Celsius compared the previous XTR RT-99 rotors. The 140mm and 160mm sizes are optimized for XC and focused on weight reduction, whereas the 180mm and 203mm rotors are made for aggressive trail and enduro with an emphasis on efficient cooling.

The black bits indicate I am spending a lot of money on my bike. This disc works well if you keep it very clean and don’t accidentally bend it

Very solid and light, with excellent cooling due to steel/aluminum/steel sandwich.

I paired this 203mm rotor with a Hope E4 front brake on a gravel bike build for steep descents. I had problems with the Hope rotor generating squeal in some weather conditions. The XTR rotor has been quiet wet or dry and is quite a bit lighter! The modulation is good as well.

I upgraded the rotors on the hardtail trail slayer as we have some long, fast fire trail runs around here that will cook your breaks by the bottom. These XTR rotors definitely stay a lot cooler especially coupled with the ice tech break pads. Nice and consistent all day.🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
These rotors are so good I was thinking about getting the XTs for a lesser price but decided to go with these and I made the right decision. The cooling fins work so well. Before these I had non fin rotors and after only a few laps at the park I could cook and egg on them. Now with these it takes more than double the runs to get them even close to that hot. And even if they are hot they still maintain the same braking power the whole time. Would totally recommend to anyone who is having overheating problems orsqueaky-brakeidis.
Light weight was was drew me to these XTR level rotors. Very happy to be able to shave off a few grams and add some of the better looking rotors on the market to my wheels.
Excellent product as usual with Shimano. These rotors have made a significant improvement with braking efficiency, greatly improved braking over the original rotors that where fitted to the bike. Very satisfied with my purchase.
Great rotors, not much more to say, they replaced some utegra ones on my road bike. I think they look much better and are lighter
I bought a new bike with Ultegra Di2 and just didn’t like how the stock rotors looked so I upgraded to these and couldn’t be happier with them. Performance wise I couldn’t notice much of a difference in braking power between the two but they just complete the look of the bike, and if these rotors are good enough for mountain bikes they’re pretty much overkill for my road bike. I’ve logged about 150 miles so far and the stopping power really is impressive especially after upgrading from a bike with rim brakes, I weigh around 220lbs and have no trouble stopping with 160/140mm sizes. I’ve heard a bit of pad rub after a couple of hard stops at the end of descents but it goes away after a few seconds.
What more can you expect on Shimano XTR, Top of the line MTB Components from Shimano. 5stars. Light weight but can perform at its best.
