Shun Classic Paring Knife

My husband and I put Shun knives on our wedding registry and received three along with the sharpener. They're the nicest knives we've ever used and we love them! They're a little pricier than the knives we've purchased in the past but they're amazing quality and they sharpen easily. I use the Shun paring knife the most because my hands are small! We'll be buying more Shun knives soon. I'd seriously recommend them to anyone who wants to experiment with better quality knives for their kitchen!

Shun are my favorite knives ever. My husband bought then many years ago and they are still great. We have couple of Shun knives. You have to sharpen it time to time and then it’s like new. We use it for fruit, meat, veggies, seafood - literally for everything! I bought it for my dad, too. He loves to cook and he loves the knife 😊 I have nothing to complain about.

A great gift for the home cook in your life

I bought this for my husband to go with the Shun chef's knife he already had. He uses it ALL THE TIME. Good for peeling potatoes, hulling strawberries, and mincing garlic/shallots.

Exceptional paring knife

I found the knife block had a few paring knives but none seemed to be that great. I'd sharpen them and it's work ok but I wasn't impressed. Having recently purchased a 5"" Shun, I knew exactly what to do.This knife works really well for all sorts of small things. The feel is exceptional and the blade stays nice and shape. The bigger knives (for me, at least) have more of a tenancy to chip, but this isn't a problem because of the small size. The things I cut with a small knife have left this blade is really good shape.Always remember: when you buy a good knife, you should take good care of it. It will last a lifetime if you do

Okay knife

This knife is okay. Not as sharp as other knifes we bought from Knifeware. It’s okay, but nothing special.

Perfection

I couldn’t be happier with my Shun purchase. This paring knife isn’t too heavy, it fits my hand perfectly, and the blade is so sharp that I can perform my kitchen tasks quickly with almost no effort at all. I am able to manipulate the blade without wrist or hand fatigue even under prolonged use. I also love the shape of the handle as I have rheumatoid arthritis. Sharp Knives

I guess most people only buy a large top of the range Japanese knife because they are expensive. However I found it frustrating to go from the big sharp knife to a dull paring knife. I bought a sharp paring knife and also a sharp in between knife. I'm glad I did as I use the smaller knives most often.

I purchased this knife about 3 months after I purchased my first piece of Shun cutlery, and I could not be more pleased. I use this knife multiple times daily, it is quick and easy to clean, and it makes the everyday chopping and slicing of fruits and vegetables as easy as it could possibly be. The knife has a pleasant weight and balance in your hand. That, coupled with the extreme sharpness and amazing craftsmanship allows this knife to slice through even the hardest of rinds with minimal force from the user. It is by far the best everyday utility knife that I have ever used, and I recommend it without reservation.
