Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens - Fujifilm X-Mount
The powerful standard lens SIGMA 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary gives users of mirrorless cameras the fun of taking photos with a maximum aperture F1.4. The beautiful Bokeh, which can only be achieved with a high-intensity lens, and the extraordinarily precise optical performance that distinguishes a top-of-the-range fixed focal length lens, are particularly attractive. The latest technologies and design considerations, which are characteristic for the concept of the Contemporary product line, are well balanced in this new lens. A fixed focal length lens with a focal length of about 50mm and a luminous intensity of F1.4, which provides an angle of view similar to that of the human eye. The shallow depth of field with a fully opened aperture offers photographers ideal conditions for fascinating portraits and still lifes. For landscape shots or snapshots, a smaller aperture with greater depth of field can be selected. Standard lenses offer a wide range of photographic applications and have been part of the basic equipment of photographers for decades. This standard lens offers a 35mm equivalent focal length of 60mm on the Micro-Four-Thirds system and 45mm on the Sony E-Mount system. Sigma lenses called "DC" offer optimum performance on cameras with APS-C image sensors. Using a DC lens on a camera with a full-frame image sensor inevitably leads to vignetting. For optimum results, the active image field of the sensor must be adapted to the image circle of the lens. SIGMA lenses with the designation "DN" offer optimal performance in combination with cameras with a short contact distance.

I bought this for my S5, so I believe it's shooting APSC on a Full Frame, so this looks closer to a 50mm on my camera if I'm correct (???). This is a great little lens. Focus is sharp, great lowlight, and good autofocus for what the S5 can do. Build quality is up to snuff and it's not too heavy. I've only gotten to shoot a few things with it but so far I am very pleased. I've used a lot of different lenses but I've never tried a Sigma, so I was very excited to get this. The only thing stopping me from completing the set is that I'm going for cine lenses. I'm not a huge fan of autofocus/photography lenses but I wanted to try one.If you want a good L-mount lens for a modest price you can't go wrong with these lenses. But if you want something a little more adaptable ... MoreI bought this for my S5, so I believe it's shooting APSC on a Full Frame, so this looks closer to a 50mm on my camera if I'm correct (???). Just about my favourite focal length (45mm-ish), this is fast, quiet, and not as heavy as you would expect. The DOF was wonderful and it's still quite sharp at 1.4 (wide open) with great C/A control and beautiful bokeh. The absence of an aperture ring and full-weather sealing are the only things I dislike, but it's not a deal breaker.I got this on sale and it's worth every penny. I've got pretty much all the other Fujifilm primes, the 16-55 2.8 and this holds its own with all of them.

I bought this lens for my Sony a6000 - I have the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens and it's wonderful sharp lens for wide angle and astrophotography. I'm shooting a wedding in October and needed a good portrait lens so immediately I went to Sigma. I was deciding between this Sigma 30mm and the Sigma 56mm but landed on this as there may be space constraints at the wedding and I may not be able to back up enough to shoot with a fixed 56mm.I have been using this a lot since I got it and I'm really happy with the quality. Gorgeous bokeh and sharp focus. Perfect for low light conditions. Could not be happier with my purchase.Shipping with B&H is so fast and items are always packaged well.

I bought this lense shortly after getting the Sigma DC DN 56mm 1.4 which is a fantastic lens with a 35mm equivalent field of view of 112 mm. I have always loved shooting with 100mm and 135mm prime lenses. This is for the MFT version. I personally find the 50mm focal length a bit boring and prefer shooting with something either a bit wider like 35-40 mm or in this case 60mm. I find this is better for portraits and candids. The lens is very sharp wide open. Pretty large for MFT but not heavy. I am surprised it is a bit bigger than the Sigma 56mm 1.4. I just wish the lens was weathersealed.
Being brand new to photography, I didn't want to spend $1000.00 on a new lens just to find out that it doesn't make me any better. HOWEVER, what I found, is that for me, this prime lens is exactly what I needed! This lens completely changed my thoughts on photography, it is light and airy, as well as being fairly compact on my camera (Fujifilm X-S10). I have been using it for portraits with a great background, have even received quite a few compliments on my recent photography adventures!Moral of the story, I would HIGHLY recommend this lens. I would love to try the fujifilm 35mm F/1.4 to compare!
I am a beginner when it comes to photography and video and i've never owned a high end, sharp, fast aperture glass before and that's exactly what this is. I purchased this and the song zv e10 to upgrade my content creation for social media and man! What a difference. Many are commenting asking what the set up is and I can't point them directly to this lens. I just ordered the 16mm as well because the 30 mm is a little tight for my set up but for portrait and shots outside you can't beat it. My next upgrade is the sigma 56 and I'll then have the trio of all lenses I need! The shipping was super fast as well.
A great little lightweight lens with a wonderful focal length. Excellent image quality but in my experience shooting weddings with an X-T2, it isn't reliable in low light compared with my fuji-brand primes. It struggles to land focus and in my line of work, this makes the difference between moments seen and moments missed. When it does achieve focus though, it's sharp, even at 1.4. If you're a slower shooter than I am and work mostly in daylight, this lens is worth the price (especially with the rebate).
After hours of review videos and forum following I decided to jump on the Sigma 30mm for the EF-M Mount. This lens offers amazing detail on the Canon M50 Mark II with a deliciously creamy bokeh. The prime lens offerings from Sigma produce elite renderings of the world around you at an unbeatable price and I would highly recommend this lens to anyone looking to advance their image quality without breaking the bank. The lens is on the heavier side when mounted on my M50, but still isn't cumbersome for day hiking with the camera. In the future I will definitely be looking to pick up the other Sigma prime lenses for the EF-M mount.
You do have options, Sony's 35mm f1.8 oss, Viltrox 33mm f1.4, and this Sigma. All can be that first general prime lens you get after the kit lens for your Sony APS-C cameras. However, as I have tried them all, you will probably discover for most things the Sigma will be your best bet. The Sony has OSS which can be helpful for video with A6000, 6100, 6300, 6400, ZV-E10 (6500 and 6600 have IBIS). And the Viltrox gives you another option that used to be the cheapest price of the three, though current Sigma price of $264 beats it. The Sigma is built well, has the F1.4 which is awesome for that everyday walkaround lens (45mm FF equivalent - so close to a normal lens). This has a good weight to it and don't find it too heavy for even the ZV-E10 where I use it as a B roll ... MoreYou do have options, Sony's 35mm f1.8 oss, Viltrox 33mm f1.4, and this Sigma. Take this lens and the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 for a lightweight travel kit. As for not having the OSS, for video I use it on the ZV-E10 with Catalyst Browse which works fine.
Hands down one of the best lens values on the market. It performs extremely well, and seeing SHARP images at 1.4 just never gets old. I dont have that capability on my full frame canon, unless your spending thousands. It's not all perfect: edge-only fringing (as opposed to ugly, purple smearing) will make shooting very high contrast highlighted subjects a challenge to clean up. The purple AND green can be troublesome. That said, it is a very particular set of circumstances to trigger it. so depending on your subject matter, you may never even see it. Even better.I rate this highly for M62, and ok/good for m50. My M50 seems to be more finicky with this lens at 1.4 for some reason. The original M doesn't seem to like it at all (@1.4 focusing).this has been such ... MoreHands down one of the best lens values on the market.
