As a beginner it is suiting like a glove. Maybe is too much but I am really loving it. It has a good range of stitches and the body is strong and I am sure it will last long.... Show more

I have a singer one plus which I absolutely love and it can handle most thing but as I make a lot of curtains swags etc wanted to have something with more power I looked at a lot of other machines and reviews but I gave always loved my singers the machines is smaller than my plus one and noisier but goes thru several layers of fabric without any issues. The instruction book I down loaded but it is quite hard to follow so would not recommend to a beginner and one improvement would be to have the lcd screen with a back light I know singer have done this on the 6800 model but would expect to have that on all models besides this the machine seems to be exceptional and expect to have this machine for many years to come... Amazing investment
I'm a professional artist working with textiles in a variety of ways, so it was important for me to have a heavy duty, portable and versatile machine capable of doing multiple things. I'm so far really impressed by it. I think the thread cutter, knot button and needle up/down button have seriously sped up my process. I love being able to control the speed with the lever. I've been able to carry this sewing machine quite easily too (my previous one was far heavier). I'm sure I won't use all of the decorative stitches, but have tried them out and they are appealing. Stitching is even, and most importantly: this machine isn't particularly noisy either, which is a joy. The storage box is finally made intelligently: it's easy to access and practical. Does what it says
Not the prettiest sewing machine but I bought it as my Brother sewing machine couldn`t cope with the specialist knickers I`m sewing for my business. It has the automatic stop/start I requested so no need for the foot pedal. It has a thread cutter but it wasn`t the automatic one I was expecting. Perhaps the sales person doesn`t realise this is an option on other machines. I received the extras I was offered. The transaction was speedy and I got free postage which was an absolute bonus. Often, living in Scotland, we`re charged punitive postal rates, so well done Singer.... Show more

Fantastic machine so far
I'm a textile artist & I really put machines through they're paces, so it's fairly early days but I'm loving the machine so far.The speed is incredible & there's no shaking or movement. I was surprised, as its not a heavy machine. The assortment of stitches is perfect for what I need too.If there was 1 thing I could suggest, it would be to supply a free motion sewing foot. It's becoming very popular & I think would definitely steer more buyers to this machine... Show more

Heavy duty machine
Bought heavy duty machine to replace my Janome machine as I need something more robust. Two features I miss though. The Janome let’s me set the needle position to up or down, rather than to have to do it manually each time I need the needle down in order to pivot the material. Second thing, which wastes loads of thread, although the singer knots off the thread it doesn’t cut it at the same time, which the Janome does. When piecing scraps and sewing short runs, the latter requires removing the material, picking up the scissors, pulling the fabric away, cutting the threads, replacing scissors before I can start on the next piece. Please consider these features for future models. Otherwise the machine is good... Show more

I’m very happy with Singer Outlet
I made a few large purchases with singer recently and I’m so impressed with not only my purchase’s but the whole process of ordering and delivery. It’s so easy there hasn’t been a problem at all. You’re kept well informed throughout the process and it’s really simple. And on top of it all you make great saving’s.I know Singer is a big brand but it’s more than that for me. My mother always had a Singer sewing machine in our home. She even had a manual treadle machine which she taught me to sew on, which was passed down to me even though she and I had electric machines, which was a beautiful piece of furniture, which I kept in my soft furnishing and upholstery work shop. And in all those years it never broke down once. So for me Singer is an institution in the sewing ... Such a step up in quality from my old machine!
I’d previously had a more basic sewing machine (having to do button holes in 4 steps, for example), and it was starting to struggle with the more advanced projects I was attempting. No such problems with the heavy duty. Once I’d got it all set up correctly, it’s so intuitive, and SO fast. I’m loving the step up in features including the knot tying the thread cutting function. Very smooth, and so much quieter than my previous machine, much to my partners delight! Comes with a great selection of sewing feet, including a walking foot. I’d been looking at this machine for ages, and I’m kicking myself I didn’t take the plunge sooner.... Show more
