SK-II Mid - Day Miracle Essence 50ml

I hadn’t even heard of skin essence until I started reading about new Korean skincare hitting American shelves. I sampled SK-II from Sephora and from that moment on I was HOOKED. Even if I don’t do a whole 7-10 step fav I don’t miss this step. Like, ever. My face is super clear, my pores seem non existent, and my skin looks far more youthful than when I don’t apply essence. The purpose, from my understanding of Korean skincare, is to set the skin up to better absorb treatments, serums and moisturizers. I cleanse (double cleanse when I wear makeup), apply toner, then apply my Essence and apply my serums and moisturizers from there.

This mid day miracle Essence came with my purchase of SK-II products. It’s taken me a while to get used to confidently spray it over the top of my make up but now that I have I find it very easy to use and very refreshing. I probably wouldn’t purchase it as a stand alone product because I’m not a big fan of the scent and can get headaches from certain scents but this it definitely a great product for winter when your skin gets a little dry and needs some moisture during the day.

I have pretty good skin, but was having some dryness and texture during winter months. This essence made my skin baby soft, hydrated, and luminous. I pat a few drops all over my skin before my moisturizer at night (be sure to let it absorb into the skin and dry completely before continuing with any serums or moistruizers). Wake up with dewy soft skin every time I use it. Took off a star as it has a slightly funky smell (it dissipates in time) and obviously the price is just silly. Still... it's definitely makes a positive difference in my skin.

I didn't believe the hype about this product for years and never tried it until I received a bottle as a gift. Within a week of using it twice daily on my neck and face after washing, my neck and jaw eczema had calmed down to a level it hadn't been at for years! Previously, I had to use a prescription immune suppressant and topical steroids to keep it at a manageable level. After starting the facial treatment essence, I was able to skip the steroid entirely and needed the immune suppressant only half as often. This product is definitely worth the price for me just in prescription copay savings, not to mention avoiding medication side effects which include infections, cystic acne, and skin cancer! This stuff is nice but I use it only to set full foundation on my dehydrated skin. I don't carry it in my purse and spritz through the day or on planes like Cate Blanchett because frankly, I don't remember to do so during the day and I rarely am on planes. It is a super-duper-extra fine mist and that is what I like about it. But, I can save $70-some dollars and just use Evian or Avene water instead and be mildly satisfied that with the slightly larger water droplets. Don't get me wrong, I spend money frivolously on beauty items but this simply isn't one I will probably repurchase. Might try the Missha one next if I feel the urge for tiny droplets. And the biggest pain of all is that it isn't refillable. I already consider the FTE a holy grail skincare item and had been sitting on the fence regarding this one due to the size and price point. My mid day essence came a little less than full but since I'd already shelled out the dollars for it I was determined to give it a go. My skin looooooves this. It is perfect for that mid day pick me up or spritzing over my completed makeup to give it a melded look. The most is so fine it doesn't mess up any of your makeup either. It is costly, I'll give it that, but it's the only spray toner/mist/refresher I've found that didn't break me out. I've tried so many over the years I could've bought this one ten times over with the money I've wasted. Just give it a try. You'll be sucked in. It's delightful.

i've been using the SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray for a couple of weeks now. What I've come to find is that it is not just a mid-day spray -- it's great for the morning and evening. As a mother of a toddler, I don't always get to shower first thing in the morning, but I do sometimes need a little refresh. SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray does the trick! And, other days, when it's a last minute decision to take the family out to eat after a long day... SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray also does the trick. I really find that it gives my face, skin and overall mood a little boost. Something a new mom definitely can appreciate from just about anything.

This hydrating spray is a very fine mist that goes on evenly and is refreshing to apply. You can feel it drying on your face after it is applied. There is a minimal scent and it does not linger. Watch out, you will notice if the spray gets in your eyes but it is minimal discomfort. I feel like this spray does hydrate but there is a slight residue feel once it dries as well as a shine that seems more noticeable ( after a couple hours)on my oily skin. I did try this with no makeup, under makeup, and over full makeup and I do not recommend using it under makeup as it causes more oiliness. This product works best over makeup and I feel that it would likely work best for people who are in need of additional moisture after makeup is applied. My normal routine includes a tinted moisturizer so that may be enough for me, other people may need a layer of moisture a couple of hours after their morning routine and this is good for that skin type. Overall, this is a good product but one that I do not feel I would need to add to my daily routine.

Good but don’t like the scent

I use the whole SKII range but this was the only one i didn’t managed to use finish before it expires. However when I do use it, it does refreshes my face but I really don’t like the scent. I’m okay with the essence scent because smelling it during skincare routines feels clean. However, it quite unpleasant for me to have to smell it in the middle of a hot humid day just to refresh my face haha. I dont really needed it too like I can still go about my day without it but i think i should give it a try again. Maybe!

ok product but with nasty smell and overpriced

I like how fine the mist is and how it hydrates my face with a subtle glow and can be used over makeup. But that’s about it. First of all the price tag is insane for such tiny amount of juice. It is similar or exactly same as their miracle essence but way more expensive just because it’s in a spray bottle. Personally I still can’t find myself liking the nasty smell that’s a bit stinky. There are better face mists out there.
