Another just ok review.
I'm struggling how anyone would rate this Bravia X75K 65" 4 or 5 star. This is my 4th Bravia that I have purchased over the last 15 years, and this one is just ok (the least favourite of them all). The colour palette is not very accurate and there is always a small amount of blur. On dark backgrounds there is a moderate amount of white light leakage that appears along all the sides. Upscaling from 1080p to 4K is ok, but when in an actual 4K feed, it looks about the same as the 1K feed. The speakers are just passable. The GoogleTV OS that comes with the unit requires that you provide an address that matches a valid postal code and that you need to turn on location services. In the end, disabled Smart TV option. PROS: - Priced very well for 75". It was on sale and ... MoreI'm struggling how anyone would rate this Bravia X75K 65" 4 or 5 star. It was on sale and didnt break the bank. - Comes with Smart TV and if dont mind providing your personal details. - It synched GREAT with the separate Sony Sound Bar and Wireless Woofer, with single switch on/off with my third party TV Remote. - No issues mounting on VESA mount pedestal TV mount that I bought. CONS: - Colours palette is not true - Very soft image (manually cranking on the screen setup parms is no better) - Cant really tell the diff between 1K and 4K feeds (that just aint right) I'm not sure I would recommend to any of my friends. I will likely hand this down to my daughter and look for a new large screen.... Show more

Decent but not great for price
Tv looks good, sleek. Picture out of the box isnt bad, but doesnt seem as crisp even with hd signal from comcast box. Could be the signal, or the tv processing engine. Hard to tell. Turn off all the motion smoothing and similar, and spend some time adjusting other picture quality items for best picture possible. The google home app setup failed multiple times. Had to setup manually directly on the tv. Backlighting is a bit uneven, but this tv is probably best for a bright room and general tv watching where thats not as noticeable. If you play the sales right, you can likely get a comparable picture from other brands for a bit less (samsung crystal uhd) or much less (tcl 4 or 5 insignia). Fantastic value 43" TV
Had to wait until the middle of the year for the release of this 43" from Sony and there's a lot to like about it - especially when it was on sale and I got it for only $799. Likes: Looks great and has the usual Sony high build quality. Very easy to set up. Picture quality is excellent (from outside 6 feet) for a TV at this price point. Main menu easy to navigate and incorporates streaming apps well. Fantastic sound. Remote has a great feel and shape. Dislikes: TV feet only mount at one point, making a wide stand a requirement. I thought multiple mounting points were available. The layout on the remote is frustrating - the numeric keypad is hard to use on the tapered end of the remote. The streaming app shortcut buttons are not required and only take up space, ... I thought multiple mounting points were available. The layout on the remote is frustrating - the numeric keypad is hard to use on the tapered end of the remote. The streaming app shortcut buttons are not required and only take up space, leaving little room for the mute, channel switch and CC buttons which have all been made tiny. Activating closed captions now requires three button presses instead of the previous one press and the captions also automatically switch off every time the channel is changed - very frustrating. Program info is often slow to load or is still showing details of last program watched on that channel. The on screen TV guide is baffling and a real letdown - it's unattractive, clunky, allows you to select shows that have already finished and cannot change pages smoothly when scrolling. Unlike previous models there is no ability to view TV while looking at the guide. The on screen information for the current program is simply too small, hard to read and doesn't include the time. This is my 5th Sony TV and I continue to buy them as they're the best out there for looks and performance. For the price I got it at it was an easy purchase to make. While far from perfect the quality of picture, ease of use, fab remote, sound and mostly great menus make for a excellent TV.... Show more

Fast UI & Feature packed
I purchased it about 2 months ago, as a replacement to my previous TV which unfortunately broke around 3 years of use. I chose Sony because I used to own another Sony TV which last decades, so decided to forgo the latest display tech for downright reliability which Sony is renowned for. Pros: 1. Lot of apps and connection to your favourite streaming service eg. Netflix, Prime and even has a dedicated Youtube/Youtube Music button which I found handy. 2. Built in Chrome cast & Airplay, nice to have 3. Slim bezel surround and simple design. 4. Great mic to capture voice input for youtube Cons 1. Lack of browser app, no Chrome or any browser app 2. Weak speakers, lack of depth and quality compared to rivals 3. Quite a thick form factor, at least 1.5 times thicker than ... Great TV with great feats
I bought this tv a few weeks ago and it only just came in last week. So far so good, I like the Google features on the tv which is compatible with your phone (whether iPhone or Android). The remote feels great and I like the features featured on the remote too. The picture quality is really good also for its size also being a 4K TV. Can use your phone as a remote with the google home feature too which is a nice touch. Works really well with a PS5 or any other PlayStation console you have. Overall great TV for what it is and I’m happy with the purchase. Only downside I can think of is that this TV doesn’t support 4K and HDR on the PS5. Unfortunately if you want to use HDR it’ll downscale to 1080p which is fine, but it would have been nice to have 4K/HDR support, but ... Great value Sony TV
Had this for almost two weeks and for a budget price Sony TV I am impressed. I have an LG OLED so I can compare image/colour/black levels very easily. The X75k 50 inch I purchased is a VA panel I believe and it was super easy to setup out of the box. The panel has a fairly think Bezel although I have seen thinner, Bezel is a matt kind of plastic. The feet I had to put on are again ok, nothing fancy, not like the LG OLED that's for sure but does the job. The Google TV interface works well and something I am very familiar with as we have a couple of Chromecasts, speed is good scrolling through options although I did notice that after turning on TV it took about 5 seconds to load all images for Apps but once loaded it's all good (I have 400Mb/s Wifi). The TV guide is a problem as once you select it you can see details of the first page of channels but if you scroll down to see the next page it can take 30 seconds to load the next page and so on. As it is the Guide is next to useless and in this I am very dissapointed, I hope Sony provides a fix for this, there is no excuse. Streaming works as expected and I have streamed 4k content without issue or delay and quality is as I expect for 4k. Streaming 1080 content, it is what it is and the TV does a good job overall. I am not even going to talk about Australian TV broadcasting, it is pretty shocking quality on any TV. Now to the picture... The blacks are pretty black for a LED TV, not OLED blacks but not too far off even in a dark room, in a brighter room they are even better. I had to fiddle with the options to get the picture I like but got there in the end after doing research although out of the box pic and colour was very decent, this is all very Subjective though. Overall picture quality compared to my OLED is pretty good but it is no OLED. Colours are more realistiv and not overdone like some TV's such as Samsung, I love the skin tone as like I said, more realistic. Would I recommend as primary TV? for me no, my OLED fills that role, the X75k is in my study but if the OLED died I would replace it with this TV and be happy until I could replace it with a new bigger OLED. I paid a very good price for this, a long way short of retail so if you get this on sale it is a no brainer, get it if on a budget, you want a solid name brand and the prospect of good service when needed. I would rather pay a few hundred more for a Sony than get a Hisense any day.... Show more

Pro Tip: Switch your HDMI settings to get 4K!!
We chose this Sony Bravia 55X75K without seeing one turned on as there were none on display in our local Best Buy... The salesman's comment was, "It's a Sony. You really can't go wrong." And, he was correct. NO regrets here! The Sony 55X75K has an incredible picture, the sound is good (but we've since switched to a soundbar), and, being a Google TV, basic set up was a breeze. But there are so many fine-tuning adjustments available that help make the TV amazing. (Take the time to figure out what makes the TV better for you!) Although we were thrilled with the picture from the beginning, we've come to find out we have been watching the TV in 1080 HD rather than 4K. I finally hooked up our Roku Ultra and got the warning that suggested adjusting the TV's HDMI settings to view in 4K. A little confused that my beautiful 4K TV wouldn't be displaying 4K, but okay. So, how? After searching through the settings and not finding how to accomplish this, I contacted Sony Live Chat. Two minutes later, I was in business... and WOW!! Sony has outdone themselves with this TV! Pro Tip: Settings > Channels & Inputs > External Inputs > HDMI Signal Format Here you can switch any/all HDMIs from Standard Format to Enhanced Format... including the HDMI for ARC. Hello 4K!!... Sony is the best.....
Just bought this Sony TV tonight. I agonized over making the purchase for the past few days because I've had some bad misfortune with TVs over the past few years. I'll never buy a Samsung again. When the motherboard goes out after 90 days from purchase, as it did with my current Samsung TV, you know the future for it likely isn't looking good.... Anyway, I bought this Sony TV simply because it's a Sony. I expected it to work and to work well because that's what you expect from a Sony. When I unpacked it tonight I was pleasantly surprised to see how intuitive the interface is. It's awesome. I hated the interface on my Samsung TV from day one but unless you're able to test drive it in the store before purchase you're kind of stuck with whatever interface you find on ... So high marks to Sony there. If you're a Google fan and save all your passwords you'll be pleasantly surprised to see all your apps auto-login on this Sony TV. It also very quickly picked up my Wi-Fi and immediately allowed me to bluetooth the TV sound to my sound bar. These may seem like small things but they're basic things my Samsung failed at over and over. When I was growing up, Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic ruled the day. Other newer brands have come along since then .... but now I see clearly that Sony has been, and continues to be, the best all along. Take it from someone who would've rather got another root canal than try to decide which TV to buy next ...... Show more

Sony Makes Good TV's
Sony doesn't cater to gamers, sports fans, or movie lovers. Sony just makes good TV's. If you're looking for a TV to watch sports, TV shows, the news, weather channel, watch the occasional movie or stream apps you should consider this TV. I think most people will be happy with this TV. Though, it has 3 inputs and doesn't include Dolby vision, you're still getting your money's worth. The delivery by pilot went as planned. The box the TV came in is as flawless as the panel. You're getting a clear picture via an IPS panel. This means it has a lower contrast ratio, which means dark scenes in movies could look better. Using the cinema picture settings and adjusting the brightness to your liking can help with this. If you have a YouTube account Google TV makes it easier ... If you have a YouTube account Google TV makes it easier to use the app. Google tv has most of the popular apps people use. Though, I've noticed a few glitches, my Vudu app closed while watching a movie and the home screen loaded. Not sure if that's a common problem or the app malfunctioned. Overall, I like this 55 inch TV and think most people will. It's a more simple 4K led TV. Changing the picture and sound settings is pretty straight forward as is connecting a sound bar.... Show more

The TV is great. Going through settings is going to be torturous, especially when I discover I don't have the right HDMI cable (HDMI 2.1, anyone?), but I'm looking forward to it. I'm writing this review more to say how much I appreciate the Best Buy employees who loaded up the TV into my car. You see, I made the questionable decision to transport this 65 inch TV by laying it flat. The ride was brief, and there was enough contradictory advice on the Internet to convince me the outcome would probably be OK. Nevertheless, I freely admit my decision to lay the TV flat was not a wise one, especially since there are a number of reasonable alternatives.
