Very reliable and functional. Powerful and quick in grilling and heating sandwiches. The materials are excellent, the nonstick surface is very strong and durable. I had the same model for nearly 8 years, I purchased it again and I am not disappointed. Same good quality!

This is a fantastic little machine! It only does 2 sandwiches at a time but it’s all I need. Excellent quality, made really well and has a grill plate just on the top. Super easy to clean. Not much more than buying a cheap one, definitely worth the extra $.

Bought this to replace an old one.So much better. Really easy to clean because of the flat side but also has the grill side which gives your toastie that extra crunch.Ideally would like a way of being able to secure the top down when toastie in (ie locking system) but not a major drama.
Deceptively named and completely unsuitable. Sunbeam need to change the word "compact" to "mini", as the marketing for this sounds more like they have maybe just shrunk the chassis of the unit a little, making it a little more trim, rather than the miniature unit that it is. The egg and bacon image are also misleading - obviously a very small egg, and maybe a scissor-trimmed slice of bacon!The unit was bought to replace a full-size Sunbeam model, which had just died, (upper half detached at the right hinge), so this is completely unsuitable, and is being returned once lockdown allows.
This doesn't heat up enough to cook bacon, as illustrated in the advertising. It doesn't grill. It's not hot enough. I attempted to cook minute steak and the butter barely melted and didn't brown. I've returned one thinking it was faulty and this second one indicates that perhaps it's not - this is just all you get. Why bother Sunbeam?It toasts sandwiches - nothing more. I was confused about the positive reviews but all the mention is toasting sandwiches.
Very happy with this item. Reliable brand, excellent deal with Target, lowest price amongst all local competitors by far. Checkout was easy. However, this was the only negative. The lovely young assistant was a little overwhelmed by the number of customers. Perhaps Target should address the issue of staffing? She was however most polite and efficient. Overall, a successful on line purchase.
Positives 1st, it's Quick, Toasts nicely, Melts perfectly, Compact, Fits 2 sandwiches.Negatives, Squashes sandwiches as the top slants down at back heavily & it doesn't matter where you adjust the sandwiches on the plate it does it always. Doesn't fit fully loaded toasty just low sandwiches. No timer (I knew that when buying but previous one had it & husband not happy with No timer!)
Cheap thin materials. Limited height adjustments. Preferred my more solid previous Breville brand which latest 3 years of daily use. I'll be interested to see how long this lasts, or will it be another case of planned obsolescence.
Different model than advertised but does the job. Maybe the latest one allows bigger movement of hinge as this one the articles just slide forward. There is no adjustment as advertised due to short connection at rear and it definitely does not stand up as advertised. Back legs protrude too far out. Could do with a higher edges at sides and front. It works really well apart from design issues and for 49.00 was a great buy. We did not need a 4 slice press.
