SVS Prime Pinnacle Floorstanding Speakers - Gloss Black

Holy cow, y’all. I wasn’t sure what to expect for just under two grand, but these Prime Pinnacles, paired with a new Denon 105 watt per channel receiver, just blew me away. Incredibly warm, clear and loud, they never distort. The bass is visceral and even at low volumes will have your dogs barking thinking there’s an alien invasion underway outside. A friend of mine recently bought Klipsch in the same price range. He heard my Primes and now has buyer’s remorse! If you’re on the fence for buying the competition, pull the trigger on these Prime Pinnacles. You will not regret it.

Brilliant Speaker for the Money

I became interested in the Prime Pinnacle after reading a number of excellent professional reviews. I had bought a subwoofer from SVS years ago and it continues to perform well. Actually I am not into home theater anymore and listen only to two channel audio. The reviews indicated that the Prime Pinnacle was an excellent speaker for music reproduction. I have been into audio for years and own many speakers including models from Golden Ear, Magnepan, KEF, PSB and Eminent Technology. I recently moved to a new house with a much larger listening room and one of my favorite speakers, the Eminent Technology LFT 8B's, were having a difficult time producing music to scale in the new setting. I ordered the Prime Pinnacles a few weeks ago and feel they are a very accomplished speaker for the money. Imaging is holographic with almost pinpoint accuracy, top to bottom coherence is excellent, fine detail is well reproduced, and the bass is incredibly tight and fast. There is minimal interaction with the floor and the speakers are not fussy about placement, although proper placement will improve the sound. The sound quality improved significantly after 30 to 50 hours of break-in. These speakers are almost too good for home theater and I would recommend that audiophiles consider them. They clearly showed the differences between three amplifiers I tried them with and I chose the Parasound Halo A21's as the most natural with the Prime Pinnacles. SVS has done an excellent job voicing this speaker and I hope they will continue to develop products that will work well in two channel systems.

Excellent sounding speakers - no compromise

These are fantastic speakers. I listened to multiple high-end speakers before buying the Prime Pinnacles, and the sound easily rivals and even surpasses speakers costing hundreds, or even a couple thousand dollars more - no exaggeration. I'm using them solely for stereo music, connected to a good CD player, turntable and integrated amplifier. The imaging is outstanding, with a wide and deep soundstage. It sounds like you're in the room with the performers.I like an even response across the board, preferring a more laid back sound than something really bright. These speakers are great for achieving that. The highs are clear, but not fatiguing. The mids come through very well. You can hear sounds in the music that you wouldn't with other speakers. I have the speakers placed fairly far apart in the room and less than a foot from the wall, and the bass is not boomy.Lastly, I really like that these speakers are compactly constructed, so I get outstanding sound without having two huge monoliths that take over the room. My wife was very pleased with the size and the piano black cabinets.

Bought a pair of the Prime Pinnacle and an SB1000 pro to go with them. These towers sound better than other speakers I have heard at nearly twice the price. The SB1000 pro truly punches well above its price point. I would challenge anyone to find a better performing sub anywhere near the price. The inclusion of the app to control and adjust the sub is awesome and truly brings home audio into the 21st century. I am also using the Sound Base for an integrated amp solution and other than the normal "needs a remote" and "PlayFi is a bit clunky" complaints I have loved it. I can barely get to 20% gain on it before the volume gets out of hand. I am really hoping SVS releases a new revision of the Sound Base with those issues resolved. Originally I had purchased a $1200 Marantz receiver and it made the speakers sound horrible. Once I got the Sound Base hooked up, it was night and day. The towers came to life and had the middle and low end as well as the dynamics I was expecting. Less than half the price of the Marantz and it stomped all over it.With all that being said, I think the best part of the experience has been in dealing with the support crew at SVS. From some questions on the initial setup to getting me squared away with licensing for the PlayFi MS Windows program they have been outstanding. Always helpful and friendly, never rushed to move on to the next call. Just a class act group of people on the support team. They have still proven it over the last week when due to my error in misplacing one of the rubber feet that were included with the speakers, they shipped me out new ones free of charge. When I realized I had not been specific about needing the rubber ones and had said carpet spikes, They again have shipped me out what I needed (again, the fault lies with me) once again free of charge.I am not typically one to be a brand loyalist but in the case of SVS, as long as they continue to produce amazing products at very reasonable prices, I am an SVS customer for life. I just need to decide what loud speakers I want to setup in my office to go along with the second SB1000 pro I am currently using with another set of towers. What I can tell you is that whatever I choose, it will certainly have an SVS badge on it.

Great Speakers

They do give a 45 day trial so if you don't like what you hear you can send it back free.I honestly love these speakers. They don't have massive bass but, don't lack it either. It's a speaker where I can say its very neutral and calm to listen to.I find myself listening to these speakers with out any fatigue. I own Focal speakers in my bar room/man room and got these SVS Pinnacle for my living room.These Pinnacles are very outstanding where ever you place them. I found them to be very easy to hide because they sound great anywhere in my room. It was outstanding the sound was crystal clear even at low volumes. After purchasing the Ultra Center found out the Polk s55s could no longer keep up with center and subwoofer. Sold the speakers on eBay and had my eyes set on the Ultra Towers, but my wife disliked the size and shape, so I bought the Prime Pinnacles. Over the last two weeks owning these speakers, while listening to music and watching movies there’s details the Polks couldn’t produce not the mention how ear fatiguing they were. This is my first set of Hi-Fi quality speakers and extremely pleased with the sound and bass. Eight months of research lead me here and the reviews on the product where outstanding.

Great sound from a narrow tower - great for stereo use

I was a bit skeptical when purchasing a narrow tower speaker set for my stereo, but this set has out-performed my expectations. It seems especially good in the higher bass completely through the mid-range and into the high frequencies.Lower bass (under 80 Hz) is decent especially compared to other modern tower speakers I have listened to. Then the speaker just excels on up through the rest of the frequencies. This speaker had the best sounding bass of any tower speakers I compared it to, excepting an old vintage set of speakers from the 1970's which can produce a lower-end bass, but cannot compare in the mid-range.Vocals are clear and crisp, not harsh. There are only two input terminals so this speaker cannot be driven with an outside crossover or bi-amped. I have been using some Canton’s with vintage gear (nothing over the top) for years. It’s sounded good, but I really wanted a full 3 way speaker setup and I’m not a fan of my stereo system having a sub. I’m too old school, 2 channels and out. These are the highest end speakers I’ve ever purchased myself, but I’ve worked in the industry helped a company get online who sold Marantz, Denon, Canton, AR and entry level hi-fi gear. Also being a musician, I appreciate good, full sound. A soundstage that feels three dimensional but also real, balanced. But I emailed the company and they gave me immediate, great responses and with their return policy I decided to order them.First off, the speakers finish looks amazing. They did a great job. But sound wise, at first I had a 100wpc vintage amp driving them and it worked pretty well. The sound was good, but all accounts, better for sure than my old cantons. But it still felt a little flat for me. So I swapped out with a 250wpc amp and boy did that fill it out. Gotta say, I’m incredibly happy with my purchase, especially for the money. These are great speakers with a nice design and fantastic sound. I’ve been listening to them every day since I got them and super happy. I only use them for stereo audio, so not sure how they are in a home theater, but that’s not their role for me. I’ll definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a speaker in this price point.

When I decided it was time to upgrade my 20 year old Infinity Entra speakers, I searched the offerings from multiple speaker manufacturers, ultimately landing on SVS. I watched endless Youtube videos, listened in store, read countless reviews and, due to space constraints in my family room chose the Prime Pinnacles. I probably would have gotten the Ultras, but where the Pinnacles ended up is a bit snug for the needs of the Ultra. As it turns out, it was a perfect choice! They sound fantastic, and I am hearing subtle areas in songs I have never heard before, as well as having a beautiful bottom end to the sound.
