The camera works fine, but, if you setup the camera to its best potential you get an excellent image quality yet the system itself cannot handle the resources. It may handle two or three then you have to start making compromises or loose the image altogether. The other annoying thing is the switching of the spotlights. They are very effective but unfortunately activated on a time schedule rather than light intensity like the IR switch. Hence they activate during daylight in the summer. As I said, this camera, and the other five I have on this potentially 8 camera NVR system work fine, however the NVR8-8580 requires some serious upgrade to handle the exceptional cameras.

Pros: Daytime images extremely good.Night images very good, but only if the NVR has the latest software included. I have two NVR-8580 recorders. The first had the latest software on arrival. The second had 2018 software. The 'defog' feature is not present on the 2018 software and night images poor. After upgrade installed 'defog' images very good.Cons: Microphone picks up excessive background noise. When night images are perfect the faces of anyone near to the camera are burnt out (just a white featureless blob). I selected manual shutter speed, set a higher shutter speed, and reselected 'auto'. That improves close-up of faces a lot, but it is trial and error. The overall night image will be darker.
Good Points: Sensor light is very good. Great to light up a door when coming in after dark.Improvement Points: Sensor light does come on in daylight sometimes but not a huge thing
Good Points: Alarm is loudImprovement Points: Once connected to a nvr system the app swann you use is useless you get no notifications no alerts so totally pointless. Then the whole camera system disappears on the app so you have to restart it all again. Swann are awfull they not interested in sorting issues. Check reviews off app that goes with camera before buying had I done that never would have bought this. Awfull !!!! Also when it did work for a few min at a time the false alarms where just unbelievable.
Improvement Points: The main issue is the change in software which has caused us massive problems.Nobody told us about this.Very annoying.
Good Points: I already had a Swann system so this was as simple a plug and play to set up and the PIR light and siren are great deterants.Improvement Points: The PIR LED is ok, but don't expect it to be as good as a proper PIR floodlight.
Pros: Easy system to set up and lots of features, 4K is ok, till you zoom in.Cons: 4K quality is still very poor considering it’s better than my 1900x1080 npr but my one is still more clear after 6 years older.
