A Little Pricey…But Good Quality

My cats like this food. There are five and two of them can be picky eaters. I also like this Taste of the Wild version because it has unique proteins (quail, etc). One of my cats used to throw up a lot and my vet seemed to think that it might be IBD. One of the treatments is feeding a food with unique proteins. As soon as I started feeding him this food, his vomiting stopped. This food is a little of the expensive side but it’s important that I feed my cats quality food. I recently switched from Taste of the Wild to a cheaper but still good quality food (stupid inflation) and while my cats loved the new food, they ate a great deal more, which leads me to believe that the Taste of the Wild is more filling. We have been feeding our cats this food for about 6 months. The cats were strays that appeared in our yard. One is still feral. We felt that it was important to give these cats a high quality food that would meet their nutritional needs. Using this food, we have been able to entice one of the cats into our home. We're still hoping for the other one to come in too.

My cat loves it and she is very finicky. And because it's grain free, she hasn't coughed on a hairball in two years. I also give her wet food with pumpkin components. Natural Balance and Soulistic, even Soulistic kitten food in a can, which is fattening, since she is a senior and has to eat a good bit to maintain her weight. All no grain food. She's 18 and very healthy according to the vet and her climbing all over everything and playing, healthy coat, muscle mass.

Love that it's good quality for a great price! Both my cats, one of which is incredibly picky, love this. In fact the picky one will specifically ask for this sometimes. It would be great if it came in a ziplock bag or some form of mechanism to keep it closed, particularly the bigger size.

Harry loves it!
26 April 2022

I started feeding my cat Harry Taste of the Wild almost a year ago. I remembered howuch my old dog Gus really enjoyed the brand and thought I would give it a try. Harry really likes the food and took to it right away. He likes Taste of the Wild so much that he didn't even want to try some fancy cat food I got from a friend. We are sticking with Taste of the Wild although I might try the Turkey next time.

Healthy food with nutritional benefits.

I usually buy this brand because of the particular ingredients and the percentages associated with them. I always examine the contents and information on the bags. The company has made it somewhat easier by basically listing "bulletpoints" of the main benefits, associated with the particular product, on the backside of the bags. The higher the protein percentage, the more likely I am steered toward that product. I've been buying this for a while. I buy the other flavors in the line to try to give the cats a variety.

Picky cats with grain sensitivity? Try this!
20 May 2022

Our cats have loved Taste of the Wild since the switch to grain free. However, we usually purchase the gold bag- Canyon River and previously bought the green bag-Rocky Mountain, so we decided trying Lowland Creek couldn’t hurt. I’m so glad we did! Our kitties prefer this food over the others 10:1! They still eat the Canyon River, but come running when they hear the bowl being filled in their bedroom instead of the kitchen. <3 No upset tummies nor skin issues; we’re so thankful that our picky furbabies seem to love the brand no matter the ā€˜flavor’ :)

So far, so good.
8 May 2021

So far, so good. The cat likes it. I approve of the ingredient list, including the fact that it is chicken-free and pea protein-free (though it does contain peas). The cat eats dry food every other day (canned on the alternate day), and was often vomiting his dry food shortly after eating. I started experimenting with different cat foods. As of now, he has not once vomited after eating this quail and duck dry food from Taste of the Wild. Fingers crossed, the cat food experiment is concluded. (His current canned food is Merrick duck variety, but I may see if Taste of the Wild makes a canned food w/o chicken and pea protein when it is time to buy cans again).

Taste of the Wild Quail and Duck Dry Cat Food
21 August 2021

I feed 2 outside cats. The senior cat began having dry, flaky skin, so I began researching online and read that it COULD be from a food allergy. I went to my local Petco and spoke to one of the employees who happened to be stocking cat food at the time. I explained the issue, also mentioning the 4 year old cat to be sure both could eat. He recommended Taste of the Wild grain free roasted quail and roasted duck dry cat food, so I bought the small bag to test it out. Over a few days, I slowly weaned them off of the food they were on and onto this. I was happy to see that both cats ate this food immediately. They still eat it with no hesitation. The bites are small, which I think is easier for the older cat. But best of all, after about 10 days, his skin issue had ...Ā MoreI feed 2 outside cats. I have a cat colony that ranges from 1 year olds to 22 year old cats. It sits well with each one. They love the taste and have grown attached to it.I can’t feed them anything’s else. I tired give them a piece of steak I placed it on the bowl and they just stared at me ! It’s like they were saying ā€œThis isn’t my Taste of the Wild! I want my real food!ā€ My cats are healthy with shiny coats and a great digestive system. I recommend Taste of the Wild to anyone with a Cat!
