The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque - 100ml

One of the best things about this brand is that it’s so affordable! I have been able to repurchase this mask several times and always have it on hand. You have to be extremely careful when using it though and make sure you follow the directions EXACTLY. I find that this doesn’t bother my skin and my skin always feels super soft and smooth after I wash it off. Beyond that, I’m not 100% sure if it’s doing anything else but I really enjoy it an how my skin looks afterwards. The packaging is really hard to get product out though.

Didn't really do anything

I've only used this product one time. I have horrible cystic and hormonal acne, so I was hoping for this to help. I used it as instructed, the exact time on the box, washed it off, and boom. No difference. Yes I am aware that I will not immediately achieve clear skin after using this, but a day or two later, my skin was the exact same. The texture was gross too, Masks like this are not good for your skin. Stop buying harsh face masks. Just get a treatment or serum or something. All this will do for you is absolutely nothing.

GOOD AS A MASK, AMAZING AS A SPOT TREATMENT

The first few times I used this mask as directed I wasn’t that impressed. But then one time I put it on just the areas where I had breakouts, and I accidentally fell asleep with it on for about 4 hours, and in that time it significantly improved my breakout! I’m talking the pimples shrunk like half their size! Now, instead of putting it on my entire face for 10 minutes, I put it on just the areas I need, like a spot treatment, and leave it on for 4-5 hours during the day while I do chores around the house. It works like magic and that way it doesn’t dry the rest of my skin out. I just finished the mini I had originally bought and I’ve already ordered the larger size!

Good Product

I got this for Christmas and I have been using it for about a month and a half now. I use it about once a week and it has definitely improved the appearance of my clogged pores around the nose area. I usually extract the pores first then use it. I find that I don’t have to extract as often and there is significantly less oil/ clogged up gunk when I do. I am happy this mask has worked so well, this is the key to less clogged pores. My only complaint is barely any product comes out when you squeeze the bottle. I have to push so hard to get just a little out. Other than that, I am impressed.

Good for acne and oily skin

I have acne prone and oily skin. I use this mask twice a week and it helps with clearing the congestion on my nose and chin. I notice my skin is not as smooth if I do not use this mask at least once a week. It is not 100% acne prevention but it keeps my pores cleaner. I won’t rebuy bc I see faster better results with leave on products. The consistency is like dried out toothpaste and you have to really squeeze it to get it out. The consistency is fine and has not separated on me. I do not recommend it for those with dry skin.

My sebum-busting holy grail

I've been using this product for 2 years, sometimes 3x a week, sometimes 1x a month depending on where my skin's at and it's the only product that makes a difference for my sebum problem. I produce excess sebum, get a little greasy, and often have bumps around my mouth and chin and some hormonal acne. Sometimes the sebum bumps are hard for me to deal with because they just sit in my face until I pick them out or maybe after months they finally dissipate. As a picker trying to break the habit this mask helps me to reduce the sebum, prevent it from building up, and as an emergency mask to immediately dial back the redness and damage after a pick session. Bought this in June 2022, so been using it for a while now regularly once a week. I feel that face masks are more of a weekend thing, it allows the product to work and have its effect on skin throughout the week.Anyway, have not felt much of a difference in regard to pore size, blackhead reduction, or general texture irregularities. Maybe if I had not been using it my skin issues would worsen but no improvement felt either. Will continue using until I finish the product, does not seem to hurt. One thing is certain, I've had better and faster results with supermarket-bought clay facial masks for 1/4 of this price.The product has a funky smell, kind of sulfuric and mud, so hope you don't mind that. So close to 5.00 EUR increase in less than a year... Decided to give it a try for the price it was back then, but definitely not worth it now, and definitely will not be buying it again.

Refreshing and effective

The best exfoliator for my skin

First of all: I have combination and sensitive skin, with a lot of blemishes (never had acne), black heads, and redness.I tried chemical exfoliators for the first time 2 years ago. The Ordinary AHA + BHA Peeling Solution gave me irritation and redness, even when I used it carefully. It was just not the right one for my skin. But this one...this one is really my thing! Helped me a lot with my stubborn black heads and uneven tone. The skin feels smooth and soft the next day. I used it with the niacinamide serum and the natural moisturising factors cream, as the guideline suggested. The results were amazing, I never felt a skincare regimen more suitable for me. the best affordable mask for acne

This mask is honestly so amazing if you have oily acne prone skin. I apply this mask usually once a week on any areas of my skin that might acne, blackheads or acne marks. I have found it to be very helpful in keeping my skin clear. I definitely wouldn’t recommend using this all over your face if you have dry or sensitive skin; but… you could 100% use it as a spot treatment (which I also do). Make sure to moisturize after using as it is pretty strong and drying. For the price.. this product is definitely worth grabbing!
