?2.90 for More Water and Less Yoghurt!

As good as ordering in! Great with meat or paneer

We love the simplicity and deliciousness of this sauce, as well as the freedom to choose what we cook in it. This sauce creates a restaurant level paneer dish for the non meat eaters in my household. The tips given inside the packaging are also very good enabling you to elevate or just vary the dish slightly each time you make it. Great with chopped green peppers for an extra freshness, and green chillies for added fire.

I normally make my own sauces but it can be time consuming sometimes, so I decided to try this. Marinated my chicken in yogurt and spices for about 4 hours and roasted it and then cooked it with the sauce. Turned out so rich and tasty. I recommend adding fresh cream in the final 2 minutes, it will be heavenly.

Curry kit
17 February 2023

Easy to follow instructions to make tasty curry. Comparable in flavour to a good quality jar but makes you feel like you have cooked! It is expensive so definitely not an every day dinner.Shame about all the plastic, there must be a better way of packaging. Until then, I will stick to recyclable jars.

Fine, thats it

Working our way through ST dhals and sauces. The former are far more successful than the latter. And this one proved that again. This is ok, but given I went to the trouble of marinating, grilling then shredding (as suggested, for extra flavour) free range chicken thighs, I expected more. Not something I would rush to re-buy. Will continue the journey though!

Not great
18 February 2023

There's a distinct contrast between restaurant/ takeaway bought tikka masallas and shop bought products. Restaurants you get a really rich creamy yogurty sauce, but with supermarket ones they all taste very similar and this is amongst one of the worst I've bought. If it wasn't for the spices it would taste exactly like you're typical pasta tomato sauce. At the end, a very strong taste of spice left in my mouth but nothing like I have ever tasted from a takeaway bought tikka masala in terms of sauce.Didn't meet my expectations unfortunately.

I love most of your kits, but why do you add milk powder to asian food ? I'm lactose intolerant and have to take pills when i have most kits. Most asians are lactose intolerant even though they insist they aren't like a badge of honor. They make themselves ill, not just for one night of indigestion, but many serious long term problem happen when you aren't digesting properly.

Too heavy on the cloves!
5 December 2022

Such a disappointment. Had high hopes that this curry kit might, at last, deliver the flavour of the chicken tikka massala I get from my favourite local Indian restaurant, but was very disappointed. The flavour was not balanced but had an extremely high clove flavour ... not something we enjoy. Will not be cooking this again.

Truly incredible.
23 March 2021

I cooked a whole chicken in the oven and then chunked it up. I was looking to recreate the curry house experience at home. What I was not expecting was to actually get the genuine article. The only thing missing was the naan bread. I cannot recommend this sauce highly enough. I've probably worked my way through every jar and ready meal curry in the supermarket and they've never been as good as a restaurant. The Spice Tailor is not only better than all of them, but actually just as good as a takeaway. Can't wait to try what else the range offers. Without an ounce of hyperbole, a true revelation in the supermarket aisles.

Where has the yoghurt gone?

I purchased many of these in the past and I cooked a packet today cooked a packet of this today. All I can say is that I'm very disappointed to find that water is now the second ingredient on the list when in the past it used to be the fifth. I noticed that something was amiss upon opening the larger packet of sauce as it seemed to be very watery (the smaller packet still had the same consistency I was used to). Still, I thought I must be imagining things and continued preparing the meal using the sauce kit. Upon tasting the finished product (to which I had added Everest paneer), I was disappointed in every conceivable way.
