There is no image quality shift when this filter is in use. Clear optics, strong construction and the Tiffen brand name are the highlights of this product. I use this filter when shooting video with my Canon 5D and the Lensbaby composer. Cutting the amount of light that penetrates the lens helps keep the shutter speed low to avoid unwanted strobing.

ND filters cut light without affecting color. They are equally useful for still photography and video. In bright light use it to get slow shutter speeds for beautiful waterfalls. Or if you have smaller sensors like Micro Four Thirds, use it to get wider apertures which create better bokeh (shallower depth of field). I have always used Tiffen filters; they offer quality and affordability. Remember though, ND filters are not polarizers.

Have always found Tiffen filters to be a great value and well made.
Excellent Quality
My camcorder has a built in 0.6 ND filter, but that's not always enough. The 0.9 ND provides just enough to provide less depth of field and tame the bright light.
