Amazing product. Extensive features. Recommended product for HIGH SPEED INTERNET (100 Mbps NBN)

Here's a detailed review of this router. Before setting up wifi directly, please ensure you connect only your router(powered on) to your machine (using the LAN cable) without connecting to your modem. Pros: ==== 1. Exactly suitable for 100 Mbps+ connections. Especially for NBN in Australia. 2. Product designed well. Extensive options for setup. 3. The 5GHz band works like a charm. My internet is always at max speed on the 5GHz band. 4. Even when the signal is a little lesser for the 5 GHz band, the connection is very strong. 5. No drop outs whatsoever. 6. Perfect for large apartments. 7. Lots of documentation available on the internet to setup. 8. Great packaging. Looks really good. 9. Amazing quality for the price. 10. Can only really offer up to 100 Mbps

This router is extremely misleading and frankly, bizarre! While the router can provide up to 750 Mbps over its dual-band WiFi, you will never likely see such speeds for your internet because all its ethernet ports (WAN and LAN) are 10/100Mbps only ( source: official specifications page: https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-c20/#specifications ).Meaning, even on my 400Mbps internet connection, it can never give me more than 100Mbps, because that's the fastest it can communicate with the modem..I don't understand the absurd design of providing 750 Mbps over WiFi if it can't do the same over Ethernet. Maybe you can use it as an access point, but if you're looking for a router to connect directly to your modem, don't buy this.

Initially I couldn't set up router following written instructions. I was instructed to enter 8 digit pin number from bottom of router. and the number was not accepted. The option was given to then enter the security number. Lots of numbers none said Security number. There is a web address to go to for help but I couldn't get on line. So I called toll free number which is available 24-7, fairly short wait, maybe 5 min. A nice young man in the Philippines (English speaking) talked me through my set up. Now router works fine. This is an inexpensive router but works great for my studio apartment. Definitely recommend this company because if you do have a problem customer is easy to access and very helpful. For reference the requested security number is the same number ... MoreInitially I couldn't set up router following written instructions. Great little router at an even better price!
20 February 2020

I think this is the 5th or 6th one of these routers I've installed over the last few months for different customers. It's a breeze to set up, and for most home/soho network environments, it offers great value and performance. The only "downside" to this router, is that the LAN ports are only 100Mbps. Meaning if your "download" speed coming from your internet provider is in excess of 100 Mbps, all you're going to get out of the LAN ports is 100 Mbps. Again, for most home/"small office/home office" applications, this isn't a problem at all. If, on the other hand your "incoming" internet speed is above 100 Mbps, you'll need to look at another model in order to take advantage of the speed offered by your internet provider. Great multi-use features, great for extending wifi
29 July 2021

The Archer C20 is my second router. I use it to provide ethernet internet to my smart tv and printer, both located too far from my main router. The Archer C20 gets wifi internet from my main router, then passes it to my devices by ethernet. It works great! I assigned a "static IP" to my old non-wifi printer and converted it to a network printer, so now my family can print on wifi. Definitely glad that I got this instead of a tiny "wifi extender" that cost the same and only had 1 ethernet port. This is better than a wifi extender, costs similar, has 4 ethernet ports and many more features!

My old router finally died after 7 years. (Asus n65u) I was told routers should be replaced every 4 years at most so I got my money’s worth on that one. Deciding on the new router wasn’t a difficult task, it was either between a $200+ router or the cheapest I can get. The geek in me wanted the best and most expensive thing I could find at first, but then I thought about the actual necessities. Like “Why would I need a 1000+ mpbs router when my ISP won’t barely touch 100?” (That’s what they claim to give) And I would say in my townhome, that range is more sought after than a gigabit bandwidth. That’s what led me to purchase this $40 router. Installation was too easy. Seriously, my little sister could set this up and she’s 10. That’s what led me to purchase this $40 router. Installation was too easy. Seriously, my little sister could set this up and she’s 10. No issues whatsoever and the app is helpful for seeing all the clients connected to your network. The reviews that mention issues with this, must be doing something wrong. I even adjusted some settings on my own afterwards with a breeze (forwarding ports etc). I’ll give the range and stability a 3/4 because the speed (not signal) drops significantly as you increase distance but this is expected from wifi. Example: with my laptop next to the router I was downloading at approximately 80 mbps and as I walked away you can see it drop. It got as low as 40 mbps but I was in a far corner upstairs with the router on the floor below with several obstacles between. So for $40 I cannot complain, but if you live in a larger home (I'm in a 2 bed town) I would not recommend this router due to it's limited range and speed.

Nice consistent router
3 December 2018

I wanted to use this router for a full two weeks before writing a review. Setup was trouble free and it gives you Technical Support info right in the box. I can say that after 2 weeks, it has kept consistent speed and I have had no issues. Be sure before you replace your router check that it is compatible with your internet service provider. I would like to point out that the picture on the box gives you the impression this router is black with silver stripes, it is not. The surface is very very shiny and what appears to be silver is just light reflecting. I did not like the super shiny finish, every time it is touched it shows fingerprints and dusts particles show constantly. I would recommend a more powerful router for a large home or office. Solid Performance, Great Price Point
28 May 2021

Bought this router to replace a suspected failing router. Found this router and figured for the price we couldn't go wrong. The router works great and we are able to achieve better speeds than expected. We're not gamers or heavy streamers so we didn't need a gigabit router. We've had great experience with TP-Link phones so this was an easy decision. If you need rock solid WiFi (and e-net) connections from your MODEM and are not serving a large square footage area, the TP-Line Archer 802.11ac router is a great option for a great price.

For HFC, THIS is the real deal. I found it hard to find, but it is a little gem of a router. It is probably a 3 or 4 star in terms of setup, quality of support documentation, particularly when it comes to NBN HFC. I was hesitant to buy a router for less than $30 as this seemed too good to be true. However I saw the reviews from other people and have had good luck with TP Link products before so I decided to go for it. So glad I did. Has all the features I needed. AC speed, dual band network broadcast. I live in a small bi-level apartment and for a home this size the range is more than adequate. Speed is great. I couldn't tell the difference in page load speed between the 5GHz wifi with this compared to a wired ethernet connection on my laptop. There are a lot of other routers out there that are a lot more expensive. And I'm sure for a larger home this might be a little underpowered.
