This good looking, little adapter causes a short circuit when you connect it to a USB-hub.In my case there was an external USB harddrive connected to the same hub. At the moment I plugged in the Satechi type-A to type-C adapter a short circuit caused the external drive to get disconnected.

The design is great and sinc greatlly with space gray gadgets. As a tool works perfect to use as an Accessory to add a usb-c port from a regular USB port from a computer or other gadgets in wish you have more regular usb and not usb-C.

It does everything as advertised. I have only one complaint about it. I was hoping that it would be fully metallic, however as you can see in the picture the Type-C portion of the adapter is plastic that "looks" like it's metallic. Aside from that it stays plugged in and does the job I bought it for! Would recommend!

At the end of the day this is an essential bit of kit, I wouldn't be using it for data transfer of large files but it does it's job which it is intended to do and that's great,It's not Aluminum though it's definitely plastic, cheap plastic and that's just a fact of life. I think regardless with the many different ports floating around now days we all need one or two of these in our tech kits.
It is small, it is simple, it just works and it does what you need it to do. Super Satechi hubs give you the USB-A ports you need for your USB-C MacBook (Pro, Air, etc.). But now you have USB-C peripherals that exceed the scarce USB-C ports on your device or hubs. Especially for devices that do not really need the speed of a true USB-C connection, this little wonder solves the problem - I use it a lot.
As my (Our) life transforms to USB-C, this is a must have for travel.Airplanes / Hire Cars / Hotels all have USB-A Ports and you will be in charging strife without this adapter. I have 3!
I was looking for this type of adapter for my card reader. Really didn't know what it was called. So I just Googled what I thought it was and found the same type on Amazon. But kept looking and stumbled on Satechi. I checked the reviews and they were pretty good so I decided to give them a try. The shipping was super fast. When I received it, I was so excited to see if it would work. Soon as I attached it on to the type C cable on the end of my card reader, plugged it into my computer USB port, it worked. Device works fine but the company says things are “designed in the us” but fails to mention the items are made in China. Also they won’t stop emailing me about a review.
How do you make a adapter sound like it’s the greatest thing on the planet? You can only say that without it your life would be harder. I keep it in my go bag because you’ll never know when you’ll need one. The looks you get when you can pull it from your pack and they say; “How did you know we were going to need one?” You can smile and give them look that says Satetechi keeps you prepared.
Works well to charge my Apple Watch via an old iPhone wall charger. Would have been nice if I was made aware of this when I bought my watch. A little up selling is also called service.
