Makes the UniFi system work easily. Small, lightweight for small spaces. Nice mounting plate instead of just slots for screw heads. Only four of the ports support PoE.
This is a great Unifi product, a simple 8 port switch with 4 poe ports. Also has a nice mounting solution.
Unifi switch works well when you just need a simple PoE switch for the Unifi network.
Picked this up to run three APs and play with the port authentication settings on the unifi controller. If this proves reliable it will compliment my unifi gear well.

Works like any other 8-port gigabit switch with 4 PoE ports. It's the UniFi OS console that really makes this switch powerful, giving you control over each individual port. If you've got a UniFi console on your network, this is one of Ubiquiti's lower-cost switches and would go well in home applications where you'll be primarily using WiFi via wired access points.
