Among my favorite standbys for clothes to keep and pass down

I made this Rainy Day Mood pullover for my daughter, for example, and I love to make all kinds of things with this yarn. I think it's a reliable standby in great colors, and I love
that if I run out (like I always do) I can get more and I won't blow my design. I know the quality is excellent and it will turn out soft and beautiful, and it won't get ruined in the
wash by whoever gets the final product.

So I bought this yarn since it was a great price and a pretty good color selection. Knitting is my full time job so I use a lot of yarn and love a good deal. Overall I'd use this yarn
again now that I know what to expect but I did have a few notes that may deter some people from wanting to use it.- it does have several small slubs and joins throughout
each ball (this doesn't bother me but I know it irritates a lot of people)- it stretches more than any other superwash wool I have ever used (I'd compare it to the stretch you get
with alpaca and I highly suggest you swatch and wet block before starting any project)-it is slightly on the thin side (it's more of a light DK and doesn't plump up ... Show more

The Valley Superwash, in Misty Lilac, is very comfortable to work with and the color is exactly as pictured on the website. In addition, my compliments to Webs on their
service. I decided I needed two more balls of the yarn about three weeks after I started working on my sweater. I called and was told that they would have to search for the
same dye lot. I was a bit worried by that but within a week's time I received what I had ordered. I was impressed by the service and will definitely order from them again.

It's a nice yarn however.....

Nice yarn. I'm making a temperature afghan out of it with a shell stitch. However, I gave it a 4 because there is some inconsistencies in the thickness of the yarn-sometimes in a strand, sometimes in the whole skein-ie. the white was thinner than the other colors. For my purposes it makes no difference. For a garment it might make a big difference (if you have a whole section of white it will look different than another color). It has a nice feel in the finished product.... Show more

Love this!!
18 October 2014
I have used this yarn for sweaters, vests, long scarves and hats for sensitive adults and tender babies. The merino is fabulous next to skin, even for those who cannot wear wool without feeling itchy. I love the feel of this yarn in my hands while I'm working. It's springy and holds its shape much better than most merinos.. It has great body, and stands up well to show off cables and patterns. My only complaint is that the skeins are short, which means planning for joining. I have used the knotting technique shown on the WEBS video for joining ends of yarn, and it works very well. The ends of this yarn weave in easily, so joining isn't a particular problem with this yarn, just a nuisance.I really love the color selection in this line, and it's become my go-to yarn ... MoreI have used this yarn for sweaters, vests, long scarves and hats for sensitive adults and tender babies. Being washable is almost too good to be true, but it surely seems to be so.This yarn also blocks well, which makes it quite forgiving for the little bleeps and blips that a novice knitter such as I might otherwise have to live with. I used Eucalon, soak for 15 min, blot, then shape and dry flat for blocking. It looks great after drying!!... Show more

Smooth and soft

Knit as the main color for a baby sweater. Smooth, soft, nice to work with. More drape than most wool. A little splittier than expected when frogging is needed, but not a problem.... Show more

Soft, but small
11 January 2023
This is a really soft yarn. I used it to do some color work hats. They turned out so nice. The only problem is that these balls of yarn are so small. I guess I didn't read the information carefully, but it took twice the number I expected, so I had to order more to complete they projects.... Show more

Valley Superwash is a great product
16 March 2021
I am using this product to make a rainbow start for my 7-year-old granddaughter. I wanted the scarf to match the hat I made for her earlier in the season so it was important to get the right yarn and colors for my project. I was very happy to find what I needed at yarn.com. The yarns were delivered promptly and are working up beautiful. I hope granddaughter will be thrilled with the finished product.... Show more

I'm using this in a crochet blanket. Love the yarn and that it's machine washable. super soft! I would love a larger color selection. Mix this with other superwash yarns of similar weight to get all of the colors I want/need.... Show more

Yes, I will be buying this yarn again for future projects.
28 November 2017
I used this yarn as a substitute for a much more expensive brand. I needed something that would work well for a very specific pattern where the yarn needed to be soft but defined enough to make and hold a crisp and delineated pattern. I am very happy with this yarn as it is doing great with this special pattern. It is available in many lovely colors which I appreciate as this sweater includes a colorful yoke with 5 extra colors in addition to base color. Highly recommend and will use again!... Show more
