Extremely poor image. No zoom function whatsoever so you have to place it exactly where you can see the image and can't move it and inch in any direction. Super short cable so you'll have cables running across the room creating tripping hazard plus they are aesthetically poor. No aux port for sound. Over all not a good buy.

This portable projector is definitely portable - it's literally the size of my hand! It takes a while to fully charge though. And while a portable projector sounds great in theory, finding a surface to project on & setting it up are a notable hassle - but that might be the case with any portable projector. If I had to buy a portable projector again, I'd probably still stick with this one - but in hindsight, it might be better to get a second monitor.

I did a lot of research when looking for a compact projector. I love the versatility of the M1 mini plus. It works great using WIFI and connected through HDMI. My external bluetooth speaker gives me the ability to fill a room with movie like sound. As good as the projector is, the customer service I've received from Viewsonic is even better. I've had to get some assistance 3 times. Your staff was so incredibly friend, patient and helpful every time I spoke to them.

I've had this projector for a little over two months now and I have no issues with it. Before I purchased it, I read a couple of negative reviews, but have not experiences any of the issues. One thing to note is that for some apps, you can't screen mirror because the app itself won't allow you. For example, Netflix doesn't allow screen mirroring. Some apps also requires a mouse to make it easier to navigate. This is not the projector, but the apps themselves. I watch YouTube when I workout and Netflix for movies and shows without any problems.
Really blew me away. I was expecting just a dinky little projector for my kids to use in their room but man, I think I might have to reclaim this as my own! The brightness on this thing is far far better than all of the "easy-bake oven" toy projectors that Home Essentials Direct seems to be selling these days. I've been duped by a few of those ~$80 toy projectors in the hope that they would be good enough for y kids. This is easily 10x better! During the afternoon, we just have to draw the window shades and they get a bright ~60" inch screen from their beds! The sound on this thing is super impressive as well. Reminds me of the little circle UE bluetooth speaker I have; super solid. This is a strong contender for some Xmas gifts this year!
I used this projector for about a month, at most 2hrs watching a movie while plugged into the wall charger. recently I updated the firmware and everything was okay, but the next day I turned on the device and an error popped saying: "Unfortunately Ccast has stopped working" ??? I have not once used chrome mirroring for this device. not only the does the error message pop blinking, its unclickable with the remote. after a minute the scrren turns blue and stays like that. cant do anything about it.
Trying hard to like this projector. Having major issues with remote not working. Picture quality is fair. Can't seem to adjust picture settings since remote is glichy. Very annoying. Also hard to adjust picture settings if there is no picture! Seems like a dumb design for picture settings. How do you know if you have the right brightness or contrast if all you can see is the setting menu,?? Since you watch in darkness not having a backlit remote is also a minus. Sound quality and build is good. Compact Design is nice. Color and contrast not so good. I dunno... Hoped for better. Changed batteries twice. No luck. Even the fire stick remote is off so I suspect it's the device and not the actual remote that has . .device is going back. Too bad.
Viewsonic M1 Mini Plus Ultra-portable Pocket LED Smart Projector w/ 1080p is a great little projector! I recently purchased the small, compact and ultra portable projector. Sometimes I am asked by DJ's to project video at events, this small little projector is perfect for insuring there is an image on the wall that looks good. At $200 this Mini Plus does the job.
We got both the the ViewSonic M1 and the LG PH550 to see which one would meet our needs better. We ended up going with the LG, but I wanted to leave a quick review about the M1 because it was still a good projector. The M1 fits nicely in the hand. It is a very portable size. It has a nice short throw, meaning a big screen even when close to a wall. It has a lot of automatic features, so you don't have to worry about clicking through a ton of menus to do everything. Auto on/off when the stand is opened/closed, auto image adjust as you change the projector orientation, auto input selection, etc. The speakers are one of the standout features on the M1. They have really good sound that fills the room. No need for a separate speaker unless you want to feel the thunder of a powerful system. The stand is well designed and really makes it easy to position the projector how you want it. So why did we go with the LG? In the end, the LG had better brightness and resolution than the M1, although at $100 more it should right?! We figured that we could make up for lower quality speakers with other solutions, but we couldn't make up for the image difference. We needed to be able to make out finer details, like little words and such, so the LG was a better fit, but we were impressed with the M1 so much that we wanted to give it a shout-out as a good projector at a good price. You will just need a darker room to bring out the best in it.
I had problems with initial charging but after I ran it tethered to its power source for a while and updated the firmware, it worked fine. It doesn't indicate it is charging using another non-Viewsonic charger but I have to test to see if it's just an indicator issue or real. It runs Android and the apps seem out of date which means you may need to rely on something else as a source. MP4s worked fine and it has 4Gb of space internally. For a way to throw up a big screen movie in a hotel room or camping it seems to foot the bill. Wish it had on-device controls. You can set HDMI as default input so, if you lose the remote, it isn't bricked. Anyway, if your expectations are in line with what you're paying - it's nifty.
