This small easy to move around unit is the best! We use it in our bedroom to move the air around and for that fan noise at night that everyone seems to love no matter how hot or cold it is! This beast moves up to 100 feet of air all around the room. It might look small but it packs a punch though the air! It came already put together all you have to do is plug in the cord! Great fan with amazing build quality. No complaints except a few things.1) Power adapter connecter to fan is not fairly secured. A slight disconnect from the fan turns the fan off. Needs to be tightly inserted.2) Wish it didn't have a power brick.3) Make user serviceable to clean areas where dust builds up.Finally, wish Vornado sell parts to replace items that break like the fan grill/ clips. My first Vornado clips have broken from cycle of removing and installing when cleaning.

Love Vornado products. This model is not as loud as the older models that I have. I love the adjustable speed. The cord is odd, you must be careful as you can't stretch it all the way as with a thicker cord, or it will disconnect from the fan itself. The stand is very sturdy. I just wish that the fan would be about 6" higher to blow over furniture better. #sweetpstakes

I put these fans in the rooms that do not have a ceiling fan to help keep the house cool. I initially put this in the living room, but placed it in the adjacent dining room instead, as the thermostat is in the dining room. With the fan keeping the hot air from the thermostat, I have been able to keep the temperature at 76 with the A/C working less and it feels like 73 inside. Obviously, I have to purchase another air circulator for the living room, which will allow us to have either a Vornado or ceiling fan in every room. This is my 2nd unit -- not because the 1st one (4 years old) is broken (it's still going strong, with a LOT of mostly low and medium speed use every Summer), but to have another for a different location in the house. I love the smooth and quiet sound (not as quiet at max speed), durability, made-in-USA, energy efficiency, and speed adjustability.The main floor of our home has a circular layout of rooms. We have some window a/c units upstairs, so a fair amount of cool air wafts down the staircase to the main floor. We use 1 or 2 (depending on how hot it is) Vornado fans on the main floor to circulate that cooler air around the entire floor...and to provide a mild (or stronger) breeze in every room of the main floor.

With the 733DC I can run the fan as low as 5 watts and still get a small, silent breeze, all the way to ~70 watts at full power. A similarly-sized AC fan might only have 3 speeds, with the min at 60 watts and max at 80 watts.That said, while Vornado put together a nice motor and fan housing, they really cheaped out on the stand and power port. The stand is a very flimsy plastic that flexes easily. The rubber "feet" are just tiny strips of rubber with adhesive on the back that you install yourself, and they all fall off eventually. Go back to black please! Don't know who thought changing the color to white was a good idea but, it wasn't! I fell in love with Vornado back in the 90's thanks to my brother. I followed him and purchased one after seeing and feeling his in action and it kept me cool and comfortable for about 10 years. Bonus, it also kept the mosquitos off of me while sleeping. It darn near killed me when it died. None of stores were carrying the variable model that year and I have no idea why I didn't think to look online to try to order one back then. I wound up buying the three speed model and have hated on it the entire time that I have owned it. You can't go backwards after having had the variable speed! (It would be great if we could order replacement front grills. I can't be the only one in need of one.) Unlike the one I purchased in the 90's, this one is audible at the lowest levels. Someone else's review likened it to white noise and once you get to it, it's just that. It would be nice if this was fixed going forward. This one is also too dayum short. I believe the one I had back in the 90's was 48 inches. I have this one sitting on top of those little hard plastic file folder storage cases to give some height though it still isn't as high as I would like it. Today's beds are much higher so, these need to go back to their original height. Stop the shrink!!! I would purchase a Vornado for every room if they went back to the original color, height and quality!!!
It's fall time when I purchased so haven't used on a regular basis. I do like the fan but it's not as powerful as the Vernado full size flat panel. That flat panel in my opinion is the best fan they make. The flat panel actually feels like the room is being air-conditioned. But back to this fan. It's okay so far , will know more when summer comes and it's really put to the test. Meanwhile I am buying another flat panel.
After having bought an earlier model Vornado fan and being happy with it we purchased the 733DC Energy Smart Air Circulator really for our aging lab. With the increased warm temps this year our log home is without air conditioning and needs some good air circulation. This little machine does the trick and does it well. As stated on their web site, it runs really quite on the low mode and that is sufficient for our dog. We have noticed in the last couple of nights that there seems to be a slight sound now. Still quiet but wondering if we are putting it to the test as upon arrival it has been running with the exception of maybe a week nonstop.We would definitely buy another one and the big added plus for us is that it is made in the USA! We already have several non-energy-smart models (the black color), but chose this one for the continuous speed adjustment, and because the white color matches the room. Fast shipping, arrived in perfect condition. Super easy to assemble, just a couple bolts to attach the stand. We've had it running continuously since then, with no problems. Good looking too.Compared to our old non-energy-smart Vornados, it moves air just as efficiently, but much quieter, and the continuous speed adjustment is much better than the low-medium-high options on the old fans. However the "adapter" part of the cord is annoying, prefer the simple cord and plug on our old fans.
