Vornado VFAN Vintage Whole Room Air Circulator Green

I am thrilled with my Vornado 7" floor fan. Easy and quick delivery and no assembly necessary! I live in a beachy area and the green color is reminiscent of a seafoam green. It has a bronze-colored wire screen over the blades and there are five sturdy blades. This fan is a joy. If you are wondering whether to buy something cheaper or this quality fan, buy this one!

A big Fan

I have lived with an older Vornado, perhaps 40 years old, and have resisted swapping it out for another brand because of the fan's staying power and continued service. I changed the switch, serviced the motor and it has kept going. Only until recently did I finally choose to replace it with another Vornado of the same style, but slightly smaller in size. I couldn't be happier. For someone that enjoys the breeze and hum of swooshing air and not the sounds of a turning motor while sleeping, the retro style circulator is the perfect companion. Its air circulation seems effortless and clean. I only kick myself for waiting so long to swap out the older Vornado for a new one. No reason to look at any other brands in my opinion.

Beautiful vintage fan

I’ll be honest, I bought this fan not because of the brand or reviews- I chose it for it’s look alone. I just received it today and I’m very happy with the look and feel. It’s heavy duty, feels like 10lbs easily and the paint and chrome are gorgeous. That being said- the fan blade is not metal, it’s black plastic. The fan blade diameter is about 7” so when purchasing this fan, you can’t expect it to put out the same amount of air that a fan with a larger fan blade like a box fan for example. It moves air but, doesn’t blast my hair back or anything. I did read a lot of reviews on a bunch of different websites before purchasing. Anyhoo, I bought this fan to circulate air in a small laundry room in the sweltering summer months and for when the power goes out and we need some air flow in the bedroom that won’t draw too much power from our generator. So the medium size meets our needs so far and looks beautiful while doing it. I’m giving it 4 stars solely because I have a slight fear that there may be problems with it working in the future from all the reviews on the web.

Fan Noise Within Week of Use

This fan is not what I expected. I bought the medium 3 speed. For a fan of this size at that price, I expected much better quality and performance. Within a week, it was making a clicking noise, from within the fan chamber. It was much reduced if I pointed the fan straight up at the ceiling, but that's obviously not a permanent solution.Right out of the box, though, I could tell this did not have the power or sound quality I was wanting. I was wanting it as much for white noise while sleeping as for air circulation. yet, its sound pitch trends high. You don't get the low frequencies as much. I'm a FAN of this FAN

I apologize.Anyway, great fan. Good solid build quality. Looks great and blends in with home decor. It has three fan speeds that cover a lot of range. The lowest setting is very quiet but still moves a lot of air around, while the highest setting is a turbine, though the noise is an even hum and not off-putting. Totally recommend this fan.

Looks Cool, but Doesn't Cool

Looks cool, but just doesn’t cut it as a useful fan. The highest setting is the only one where you can actually feel the air blowing, but the sound has such a terrible frequency that it cannot be used for sleeping. The difference between the high and medium is so drastic, and low is like me trying to cool down my hot food.

Love it, but not to be

I loved this fan, but unfortunately, it just wasn't meant to be. It is very cute, a little darker than the photos suggested, and the perfect look for my vintage styled room, but the reason I wanted a Vornado was because two of my friends had regular ones that I fell in love with. Unfortunately, I had to return it for two reasons.1) The white noise wasn't quite like the other Vornado fans I liked. Its a little quieter, and on the highest setting, there is an underlying frequency that MOST people will not catch but I do. Not at all bothersome during the day while I'm working, but I do catch it at night while I'm trying to sleep. I can assure you that if you're not an audio engineer like me, you will not notice it. I originally bought the VFAN for my great room to augment the central air. I figured the highest speed would provide enough circulation without drowning out the TV and people's conversations. It did the trick, but I found myself wanting just a bit more air and a bit less noise. So I purchased the VFAN Sr. and moved the smaller model to my bedroom. Much better fit! The bigger Sr. Model gave more circulation on the second speed and less noise while the smaller model gives me more than enough breeze and "white noise" for sleeping.I love the retro look and the heavy duty feel of these circulators. Our house is done up in the Arts and Crafts style and these fans, while not being truly "period" pieces, blend in nicely. Sturdy metal construction with Vornado Quality

The fan is solid metal construction looking exactly as it appears in the pictures. It is the same size as the normal plastic Vornado fan construction. I know this because I have a same sized Vornado plastic version of this fan. This metal version puts out the same power and air movement with 3 speed settings.In short, its the exact same fan with the same performance simply in a vintage metal finish.Of note, Vornado fans claim to move air up 50, 100, 150 feet depending on the size of the fan. I have multiple Vornado fans, all medium or large sized.
