This is my second Vornado fan. It was purchased to augment the floor model Vornado that I’ve already got placed in my garage. The temps in our garage have a tendency to go over 100 degrees F without the fan(s), as our garage is without windows and has only the lift door for an opening. That tends not to work well in Florida Panhandle summer temps, without having added circulation. The Vornado fans are good quality, actually move the air nicely, and run quietly. They’re worth the investment.

Unfortunately, this fan does not put out the powerful circulating air that the same full size Vornado I have had for years does. These fans last for years. They are awesome. Just wish Vornado made the full size with more air circulating power like it used to have.

I bought this fan for 'parts' and got it running like new. Worth the time and effort because these fans are: 1. EXPENSIVE and 2. AWESOME. My whole house is full of Vornado fans of various models. They are the best fans you can get for your home and their warranty is even better!!! This is one of their larger fans, and it MOVES air. It's great. It allows me to operate only one window AC instead of two in summer, and moves the warmer air that gathers at ceiling level evenly throughout the apartment.

Sorry but I have the same problems with it being TOP HEAVY and Falling over all the time.******Defiantly NOT SAFE in a home with small children since ti topples over so easily **********I purchased this model specifically for the Height option . Only a TINY SCREW secures it in the higher position. It is NOT easy to switch from the Lower position to the Higher one! You have to take the fan apart to do this. They should have designed this with a Push Button type of pole ... It is difficult to move it from one place to another because of this.You MUST Hold the support pole with one hand when adjusting the angel of the fan because is is to unstable and falls over. I bought a Vornado Model CR1-0035 Type 285 'awhile back some'... I believe it to be very near the same specification as the, "783 Circulator B". They look identical. I bought it for it's intended purpose, to circulate air in my home. Now I don't live in a large house so it's rarely on full blast however, it's on ALL the time year round. Yes, we turn it off when we go on vacation but otherwise it is running 24/7 and only gets noticed if someone un plugged it when they vacuumed around it. This year the motor has finally started to sound a bit tired and like most things today, it's probably cheaper to replace than find a new set of motor brushes to fix it. I bought my 1st 783 2 months ago. I just ordered 2 more the other day. The way the fan circulates air around the room is amazing and it's not loud at all. It's extremely powerful and the air is noticeably cooler. It's perfect for the bedroom, the hum of the fan on high drowns out most of the outside noises and makes for some good long uninterrupted sleep. Sleep is so good I bought a total of 3 of these, one for each bedroom. I highly recommend this fan.
I already had an earlier model of this fan and knew what I was getting up front. I enjoyed the easy assembly of the frame which is much improved over the model I already had. The machine circulates air like no other fan I've ever owned. I place one on a side of the house and it moves the air through my entire house. The other ventilates an add-on room which no longer has the HVAC deficit I once endured. These fans are second to none in the market and I've bought many models prior to finding them spending hundreds of dollars for nothing. They're quiet, they're powerful, they're industrial grade environmental workhorses.
I received one of these from Vornado with a discount after my 2002 model died. This unit is a three speed instead of a variable speed like the original. It works well, but it self-destructed when it fell backwards onto the switch. The switch should be protected, so that the unit doesn't land on it. Vornado replaced that unit, but said that they would not again.
Purchased this fan to replace a Lasko Tower Fan in our 2 car garage. Focused on this fan because it is made in the USA. A bit pricey, but well worth it. We assembled it at the lower level (28") and it really does an excellent job of moving air in a hot garage. I tried using the 12" pole extension to the 40" height, but found that the fan seemed a bit top heavy. So, we settled at 28" height. Only have the fan 24 hours and it lowered the garage temps by 5-7 degrees during the hot Florida weather. Keeps the car cool and me when I am working in the garage. You cannot go wrong buying this one!
