I live in a very rural area where the nearest town with decent shopping is 30 minutes away, so GrillPartsReplacement - Online BBQ Parts Retailer is the way to go for me. I say this because NORMALLY GrillPartsReplacement - Online BBQ Parts Retailer does a great job in packaging products. They completely whiffed on this one! And the fact the grill is cast iron which makes it quite heavy. Hopefully someone with GrillPartsReplacement - Online BBQ Parts Retailer will take note! The Grill itself is amazing with one exception and this is why I take off one star and not giving it 5. The center plate slides off or out of it's grove too easy. When cleaning with wire brush, it will slide off and inside and onto the charcoal. Some have asked about curing the cast iron, no need, as this is ceramic coated. And HEAVY DUTY! This thing should last years!

**Update July 2020**I’ve had this product for about 8 months now and the center piece cracked and broke off. The center piece is not made of the same material as the rest of the grate (seems like it’s made of cheaper material) and my best guess is that it cracked as a result of heat (I’ve never dropped it).**End of Update**I’d had this product for a few months and it’s great! Super heavy duty. I should have upgraded to this sooner then I did. I upgraded because the coating on the original grate started falling off, and I worried about metals and contaminants. The coating on this new grate is still intact with no signs of deterioration so far. A separate review I read, mentioned how the center piece of the grate can come off when scraping/cleaning the grill. This grate is HEAVY! Fits the Weber kettle perfect, along with a vortex - an inverted vortex, which I often use for reverse searing steaks, fits just below the center sear grate fills the hole completely. Grilling on the porcelain is fantastic - nothing sticks to it, like a Teflon pan, don't need a spatula to scrape stuck meat off, tongs will do. Great crosshatch for searing, just as good as my grillgrates but easier - don't need to turn 90 for the cross hatch. Seems like great quality, with care should last for a long many years instead of buying a new plated grate every year due to rust. Cleanup is much easier then uncoated cast iron or any chrome plated or stainless grates. "Great" Idea for a Weber Barbeque "Grate"

This grate is a "great" idea for either adding charcoal to the grill at the beginning of barbecuing or adding more charcoal later. At the beginning of barbecuing it works especially well with Weber's charcoal baskets which allow you to keep the charcoal on one side of the grill and indirect cook on the other. My only complaint is that they could have hinged the grate closer to the middle to provide a bigger opening to add the charcoal--sometimes i miss and a briquet winds up on the table or the grass. I own two of these and will never go back to a grate that's unhinged!

Better model for the way I grill

Does the job it is meant to do. I like the hinged parts to add charcoal as needed. It is lighter weight than the grill with the removable center, which I like. I don't have a need for the accessory piece and always was frustrated by it falling out when the grill was removed. This model works better for me.

Good product

This a replacement grill for a kettle charcoal grill we’ve had for 18 years. The kettle grill is a great product and if they still made them, I’d get a new one. Mine has an ignition starter and flame bar from a small propane tank. My husband adapted a full size tank since the small ones are no longer available (at least in CA).This large replacement size was not available from my local Ace Hardware store so I got it online.Weber needs to simplify and clarify the measuring for the removable grill replacement. I measured the actual grill but was sent the smaller size. I guess the measurement is for the outside dimension of the kettle. Doesn’t need to be so confusing. Just list BOTH dimensions in the Description portion rather than having a video. Silly!

Great Replacement Grates

Very nice grill grates. After 14 good years of grilling, my original grates wore out. I was looking to replace them, and these more than fit the bill. I'm looking forward to using the hinge feature on them.

Hinged grate on Jumbo Joe

The hinged grate is awesome for adding extra smoking wood or charcoal during cooking. In the Jumbo Joe, however, the space between the grates is a bit tight, so addition of more materials is not as smooth as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I added chunk wood (soaked) for smoke and just left the hinged part open on the fuel side. It did what I needed.

Perfect Weber grill replacement

I was very impressed with how the Weber grate was packaged for shipping. The box was sealed with packaging tape and then the box itself was secured with plastic strapping to ensure the box would not split open during transit. The grate is a Weber and it was purchased to replace the grate we did not like that came with our Weber grill. Very well made and is absolutely perfect for our needs.

Very disappointing in quality of replacement grate

Very disappointed in quality of my new webber cooking grate. This grate is significantly lighter in weight than the one I'm replacing. I've had my webber 22" grill for 6 years. I replaced the original cooking grate that came with the webber kettle 2 years ago. I have not used this grill near as much the last 2 years as previous 4 years. They no longer put out a stainless steel grate like the original grate. The 1st grate replacement cost me $20.....This one I just got cost me $40 ....and from what I see it appears it won't last a year.
