We did not want a giant grill (just the wife & I) but I wanted something well made, portable, and with a large enough grilling surface that I could cook for a small group if needed. The Weber Traveler is perfect!I have used the grill for about a month and it’s perfect for our needs. The grill gets super hot (maxes out around 550-600 degrees), but if you want the temp under 300 degrees, even at the lowest setting, you will have to leave the top open. I have cooked many dinners including pizza (with a pizza stone) and everything has come out perfect so far.The grill is also easy to season (because of the high max temp) and easy clean after each use. I love the pull out and disposable grease pan. I also bought a griddle for it and that gets nice and hot as ... This is a fantastic grill. The surface area is big enough for most uses and most important the temperature gets hot enough to grill properly. The portable design is great. I had to return the first one I bought because I bent the hydraulic mechanism when closing it on grass. The wheels couldn’t move freely causing me to push too hard to close it. When I opened it again the metal on the side of the grill where the mechanism is attached bent and the paint cracked. In my opinion this is a design flaw. This is a stress point and should be much stronger. Regardless, that didn’t prevent me from getting another one. I’d highly recommend this grill especially if you are tight on space or want to take it with you.

So far I've had it for 6 months and I've grilled just about everything. Chicken legs, salmon, shrimp, ribeyes, burgers, sausages, vegetables, etc. I asked my grandfather, who grilled steak for 8 people on it this past Christmas, what he thought and he said "It's excellent!"It seems to be economical on gas when compared to it's size, especially after getting used to using it. I can easily cook 20 chicken legs on the grill if needed by just being sure to rotate legs to the hottest parts of the grill. Using it for 45 minutes to cook the chicken takes maybe about 1/3 of a 1 lb propane cylinder. Its built well, but as a result is a little heavy. I still manage to carry up and down the stairs alone, but it is a lot easier with 2 people. The weight is a tradeoff I was ... The weight is a tradeoff I was willing to make for my use case, especially since it folds up so well and has solid carrying handles. The grates and lid get locked into place when it is folded up. Cleaning grease out of it is extremely easy, which I appreciate when I'm lifting it into my car. I'm extremely satisfied with the grill.

My wife and I spent three months as snowbirds and the Airbnb only had an oversized charcoal grill. So I gambled on the Traveler. Great choice. Easily assembled. Small propane cannisters readily available. Perfect for the two of us and company of another three to four. Lights perfectly. Cooks perfectly. Two observations. The small propane cannisters are not easily installed and I would opt for the optional hose adapter to use with standard propane cannisters. They also quickly empty and are not refillable or easily disposed of. After cleaning the inside of grill, it became clear that the one piece burner was defective and needed to be replaced. Weber gave me the part but I am stuck fixing a brand new grill. Haven't got around to it yet but not thrilled with this ... When using one pound gas cylinder, it's impossible to get it screwed on without the threads cross threading. I have been using propane cylinders for over 30 years and have never had an issue with screwing them on. This unit, first time trying, cross threaded and was unable to remove without damaging. Since the unit has a safety catch which prevents lowing with canister installed, I could not fit it into my car and HAD to remove the cylinder. This is a poorly designed unit where you have to crawl underneath, push the cylinder against the safety latch and somehow keep it aligned to avoid cross threading on these very soft (aluminum) threads on the regulator. I have two other Weber grills and they work great. This one is poorly designed. Almost ruined our Memorial Day ... Submitted a warranty claim to Weber. Let's see how they stand behind their products.
Weber needs to do a recall on this grill. I bought in April with the intent on using it with a large propane tank. The grill has a faulty regulator and will not allow for operation with a Weber hose and large propane tank. Here it is in July and still have not been able to use the grill, I have been told by Weber that a replacement part was being shipped to me and I still have not got the part. After multiple emails back and forth to Weber I was told the part would NOT be available until the end of August or September. I went back to the local dealer and we opened two more Traveler grills out the of the boxes and both had faulty regulators and would not work. I bought the weber traveller after reading lots of reviews on it. It worked for one month then after a month the regulator started leaking from the seal between the housing and faceplate. I used the grill with both the 1lb green propane tanks and with he official weber adapter hose with a 20lb propane tank. I contacted weber support and support said they would warranty the part and send a new regulator within 7-10 days. They never sent a new regulator. I emailed back after 10 days asking aboutthe replacement part and at that point they told me they don't have any parts and don't know when parts will come back in stock. So at this point, my brand new grill worked for one month and hasn't worked for nearly two months now. Very disappointed in the customer service ... MoreI bought the weber traveller after reading lots of reviews on it. Very disappointed in the customer service and quality of the grill parts. Everything I have heard and read about weber has said the service and parts should be excellent but I haven't had that experience. After some more research on the traveler, it seems the regulator is a common issue with the grill and can often fail within the first three years of use.As a side note, while the grill worked it was a great grill. Cooked very evenly, heats up quick and the grill is easily portable for those days when you want to bring it away from home.
Excellent grill for connecting to your RV's Quick Connect port. It is very sturdy and opens and shuts easily. I strongly suggest buying the cargo cover to keep your storage area clean; drips on the inside of the cover easily clean up with soapy water. I had done a great deal of research about the Traveler and its competition so I was fully aware of its single adjustable burner tube. It still pre-heats easily to 600º and can then be adjusted down to your desired cooking temperature. The cover's thermometer is quite accurate. We used to travel with both a grill AND a griddle but a Weber Traveler with the optional griddle plate allows me to cook pancakes and sausage together. Absolutely top quality and engineering in a compact and portable gas grill/griddle!
I absolutely love weber! Years ago I had a Weber grill and would download pdf grill guided for my gas grill and the grill times were always on point as long as your grill was operating well. Reason I say that is because after 10 years of abuse and not cleaning the grill like i should, the burner would burn hotter at different areas in the grill due to age and bad upkeep of the actual burners and the fire shields. This lack of proper cleaning and maintenance caused the burner parts to deteriorate and not allow for an even temp across the grill. Fast forward till today, i bought the weber travel gas grill and put it to the test while RV ing full time. One out perfectly cooked without even having to check them with a digital thermometer. Im so happy that I chose Weber and not risking being let down with some of these cheaper grills.
This grill is super. I downsized to this grill because my old one was too large for just two people and took up too much patio space. The old one also had a tendency to overheat without being able to control it. This one is easily controlled and has performed well so far using it 2 or 3 times a week. I like the feature of being able to fold it up and store it between uses. The grates clean easily and I purchased one griddle insert that works well for searing and keeping basting sauces warm. It was a bit difficult to connect this to a larger propane tank since it is geared for the small gas tank, but quick disconnect adapters were located and are working well. The nice feature too is its portability if needed, and being able to connect the small propane cylinder if I ... MoreThis grill is super. Cleaning is easy—be sure to buy Weber brand if you add a grill plate. They are enamel coated and clean easily, but cheaper brands are not coated and are difficult to clean.
