Too bland for snacking more suitable for baking or roasting. This 120gm packet of macadamias were priced at $5. After looking elsewhere in the store I found them in the baking aisle. Whilst I do occasionally bake with macadamias we just snacked on them from the packet. Whilst they tasted fresh and had a nice crunchy texture we found them to be a bit bland. There were a few odd ones that didn’t taste quite right. I definitely think these macadamias are more suitable for baking than snacking on straight from the pack. They are also suitable for roasting to bring out the flavour. I like and prefer that they are unsalted and healthier. I would suggest that the packaging include a resealable top, to help keep the nuts fresh, as you wouldn’t want to consume too many nuts at one time. I would also recommend that the packet advise customers to keep the macadamias once opened in the fridge or freezer, to extend their shelf life, as they can go rancid and bitter quite quickly due to their high fat content. The big positives for these nuts are that they are Australian and contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and have a 3. 5. Star health rating.

Delicious in muffins. Thank you so much for these quality macadamia nuts to sample!I put them to good use, making white chocolate and macadamia GF muffins. They were definitely a delicious treat These nuts are $5 for a 120g bag, $ 41. 67 per kg, please keep in mind all nuts are quite expensive. These valuable little morsels are found in the baking aisle, roughly eye level in a small pale blue sturdy plastic bag. It has a clear window so you can see the fresh nuts inside. A resealable packet would be good but you could always transfer the leftovers to an airtight container. I tasted one from the packet after opening it, and the flavour was classic macadamia, fresh, raw, crunchy, slightly waxy & heavy, with a hint of buttery note. A really tasty change. This is something I have been eyeing off for a while. My nut of choice is often Virginia Nuts but a change is nice. The packaging is robust (scissors required) and I found after taking out my snack handful that the packet folded over well. I then changed my mind and put the remainder into a “baggie” sealing the bag 90% closed and squishing out as much air as possible then closing the bag. I have put them into the freezer to stop myself eating the whole lot. They were crunchy and obviously fresh and although part of me wished they were lightly salted, they were satisfactory as is. I know I often mention chocolate but the nuts are absolutely wonderful covered in white chocolate. Price-wise the $5 cost is not onerous for such a product. It was ... MoreA really tasty change. Quality Australian nut with multi uses. Easy to locate in the nuts aisle. Clear window on packaging is great as you can see the size and quality of the nuts. Can be used in recipes to substitute nuts with similar flavour and texture like Candlenuts and Brazil nuts. Inspired to buy more just to try different ways of using them!Higher fat content so watch the portion size. Tear pack and resealable packaging will be more convenient and easier to store.

Nut-ritious. Woolies, thank you so much for my marvellous macadamia sample. We loved the mild and creamy flavour - it had a delicate hint of sweetness. The nuts were also deliciously fresh and crunchy. I really like the calming pastel blue colours of the plastic packaging. The clear window lets you see the nut-ritious contents inside. Disappointingly, an icon of a garbage bin destines the bag straight for landfill. There is no mention of RED-cyclability. I enjoyed a portion of my macadamia sample with some caramelised pineapple yogurt and fresh strawberries. My afternoon snack was berry nice!My plan was to use the remaining portion of these yummy nuts in a beautiful banana & macadamia bread. Well, that was before I started munching on them - and couldn't stop! The marvellous macadamias make a hugely addictive snack, so I'm starting to think the 120g bag isn't quite big enough! The lovely macadamia nuts would be very tasty in baking recipes such as a batch of decadent chocolate brownies, or some magnificent muffins. You could crush the macadamias to decorate a sundae, or add some nut-ritious crunch to your breakfast cereal. They would also be wonderful in a healthy salad, or a stir fry. The nuts were just right in size. My bag contained a mix of whole nuts, as well as some macadamia halves. These moreish macadamias are Australian. I'll definitely buy them again, but will choose the larger 300g bag, as the per kilo price is marginally cheaper. Definitely give these magnificent macadamias a try, let's all do our bit to support the struggling Aussie farmer. It'll make you feel good. With a 3. 5 star health rating, and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, munching on these marvellous macadamias is simply nut-ritious!

Extremely Moreish. I loved these Australian grown Unsalted Macadamia Nuts and found them to be fresh, crunchy and tasty. Once the pack was opened it was tempting to keep munching on them as they were extremely moreish. I ate the majority of them just as they were but I did throw a handful into a Chicken Stir fry which gave it additional flavour and texture. These are very versatile and would be perfect to include when baking Slices, Biscuits, Cakes and Brownies or into Cereal, Salads, Fruit or Vegetable dishes. The 120gm pack is only $5 and great to see that it is available in a larger size of 300gm for $12. The QLD nut. I love Macadamias. They're native to my part of the world, and they're very attractive trees. The nuts are also amazing and I love them in all forms, including raw, roasted, coated, oil and milk!I have high standards when it comes to macadamia nuts, and these did not disappoint. They were fresh and crisp without any trace of rancidity. One of my favourite recipes is chocolate macadamia cake, and this packet was the perfect size for the recipe. However, in general I prefer to buy larger packs of nuts for value reasons and to minimise packaging. Macadamias can go off, but I go through them fast enough that it isn't an issue. This size pack would also be suitable for one recipe's worth of macadamia pesto, or for a small quantity of homemade chocolate ... MoreThe QLD nut. I love Macadamias. It was relatively easy to find the pack on the shelf (labelled Macadamia in large letters), though as all of the nut packets are the same colour they do all blend into a oneness. It was easy to open with scissors but not fingers. Given that it contains one recipe's worth there is no need to worry about storage. Please consider less resource intensive packaging in future if possible - or just go back to bulk bins so people can bring their own container?

This bag had whole nuts and half nuts, some firm, some soft, some had a nice crunch, some were tasty, some were tasteless. I would imagine as they were in the baking aisle that the quality is more directed at placing the nuts in recipes. Perhaps the quality would have been a little more on the ball, if they were in the snacking nut aisle? I seem to be making lots of assumptions about these nuts, so I should get back to 'facts'. For $5 I think they are a little too pricey, especially as the quality was inconsistent. When I tipped the nuts out of the packet into a bowl, I was surprised to see a strangely shaped 'blob' fall out with the nuts. It was about half the size of a whole macadamia and quite dark in colour compared to the nuts. When I placed it into my palm to investigate what it was, it suddenly crumbled into a dark powder. It smelt like macadamia and was a little greasy in texture. I decided it was compacted macadamia powder. Perhaps it had dislodged from the sorting machine during packing? Anyway, it should NOT have been in the packet but I decided it was 'safe' and hadn't tainted the nuts. Put me off enjoying them though!Overall: I would buy these macadamias again if they were on special and I needed some for baking. Love that they are Australian. Okay for cooking with or combining with other foods, but not 'premium' enough just to snack on them by themselves

Mmmmm..... Macadamias. I could eat macadamias every day if only they weren’t so pricey so when this little bag landed in my inbox - woohoo! They were crunchy and most importantly, fresh (the slightest rancidity is a no-no for me), with a light and pleasant taste. I have had macadamias with a much richer, buttery depth of flavour but I had to pay a lot more. Macadamias are expensive nuts so anyone who wants a small treat without spending too much could go for this bag, which is the smallest one sold by Woolies at $5 for 120g ($41. 67/kg). It is cheaper than the loose macadamias ($45/kg) but a bit more expensive per kg than the 300g size (which at $12 or $40/kg, is the cheapest at Woolies). I was surprised these raw macadamias only earned a 3. 5 health star rating but ... MoreMmmmm..... Macadamias. I was surprised these raw macadamias only earned a 3. 5 health star rating but it has presumably been dragged down by the saturated fat content of 10. 3g per 100g. However, this won't deter me from eating my favourite nut as I think it is balanced by the high proportion of unsaturated fats and other healthy nutrients also present. The nuts are produced in Australia, as you’d expect, given that they are native and are in fact the only native plant food that has become mainstream.

Best of the Best I'm Nuts over Them! Finally found some time to enjoy this superb product. Can't fault this product in any way. My husband and I enjoyed these macadamia nuts whilst watching Telly. I have tasted the salted macadamia's before, but they do not compare to the unsalted ones and have the added benefit for ones health. I would have never thought to look in the baking section for this product and only found them with the help of staff. They have a unique taste, great crunch and flavour and are ideally packaged, not to mention, how delicious they are for just nibbling. Product of Australia, Yep, that's GREAT!. We finished them in one serving and will be coming back for more now that I know just where to located them in the store. Which brings to mind memories of my dad. As a young child my dad brought a bag of macadamia nut home still in their shells. He worked out in the open for the waterboard and his colleagues noticed a lot of macadamia nut had fallen to the ground from the tree. So everyone took a break from work to collect as many nuts as they could to take home. When dad brought these unknowns home, my mum asked 'What are they?' as she had never seen these type of nuts before in their home country 'Poland'. She asked, 'How do you break the hard shells?'. 'With a hammer or a rock' dad answered. So that's what he proceeded to do, followed by a taste test. He then offered one to mum all nicely shelled. Would she try one? No way. She bluntly refused stating 'these could be poisonous'. But, not dad, he'll try anything, and so he did. His feedback to mum, 'You don't know what you're missing, these are delicious'. But mum stood her grounds and wouldn't have a bar of them.
