Tastes far better than the Coles one. While I missed out on claiming the sample, I thought I had to share my opinion about Woolworths Madeira cake. It's soft, and well aerated, making it delectably spongy. The flavour is far more delicious than the Coles branded one, which I unfortunately had to purchase when Woolies were encountering a shortage of their Madeira cakes last year. Best accompanied with a tall cup of tea! It's a regular item in my grocery basket.

Perfectly delicious. When you are craving something not too sweet this cake is the perfect choice. A simple old fashioned style cake. Delicate fresh crumb, easy to slice and freezes well. Wrap in glad wrap and add to lunch boxes for a surprise treat. Makes a quick dessert - warm a thick slice of cake in the microwave. Only takes 10-15 seconds depending on thickness, top with your favourite jam and serve with custard, icecream or whipped cream for a cheats jammy pudding. You won't be disappointed with this gem.

Yummy. I loved this cake. It was soft and moist. Great flavour with that hint of orange which you can smell when you open it.. Took me back to my younger years when my mum would buy this cake for us. Great price. Didn't disappoint. Will definitely buy again although can only have small pieces due to the high sugar content, but that is with any cake for me really. Highly recommend.

I used it in a trifle and it held its form beautifully. I made a Trifle from Recipe Tin Eats (fabulous recipe making your own jelly using cranberry juice - you'll never go back to bought jelly again!). The recipe recommends that if you're going to short cut anything, make it the cake and use a bought madeira/pound cake which is exactly what I did! This is the 2nd time I've made the trifle and used a Woolworths madeira both times. Whilst I know this review seems more about the trifle than the cake, I would encourage you to use this cake in many ways as it's so versatile.

Nice with a coffee. This cake was easy to find in-store. It’s not a product I’d usually buy so thanks Bunch for the sample. It’s a square cake cut in half which I thought was a bit strange. Why not just use a loaf tin?The cake has been frozen and thawed. There is a clear Best before date of 14th November. Given today is 25th October, and the product has been thawed, that’s a long use by date……. 1 1/2 star rating so not great nutritional value. The cake is soft and fluffy as described but we thought it was a bit dry and definitely tasted better wth a coffee. Mild orange flavour. $3. 30 for 450grams. It’s probably not a cake I’d buy again but thanks for the sample.

Best budget priced cake. This is the best budget priced cake in store. Soft, moist and a subtle sweet citrus flavour. It has a long use by date and also freezes well for "sweet emergencies". Great with a cup of tea or in a trifle with custard, fruit and jelly. It is good for entertaining for those people who don't want anything "too sweet or too rich". Once you have tried it you will put it on your repeat purchase list.

Surprise packet. This was a first, have never tried or bought Madeira cake before. I could smell the orange as soon as I opened the packet. Family hesitant to try but served with berries verdict was this very nice, moist and delicious orange flavour. I can definitely see how handy or versatile this Woolies Madeira cake could be. Served warm with a berry or lemon butter sauce, or as suggested by family member with icing. would I buy ? yes, great price thanks Woolies for this product test, great chance to try a new product.

Best Woolies Cake. This is a staple in our house. We have purchased it numerous times. It is so versatile - on it's own with tea, grilled with ice cream, in a trifle, crumb for fried ice-cream. We absolutely love it in all is froms. The orange flavour is not overwhelming, the texture is perfect, it melts in your mouth and is soft but still holds it shape. The updated packaging is nice too. The only critisim is the price - it used to be perfectly affordable $2. 50 but has now gone up to $3. 30

Great for any time you have a cake craving. Woolworths Madeira Cake is pure delight for the taste buds. This cake is a perfect balance of sweetness and buttery goodness. The soft, moist texture and rich, buttery flavour make every bite a heavenly experience. Whether enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee or on its own, it's a true indulgence. The convenient size is great for sharing, but you might not want to! Woolworths has truly nailed the recipe for this Madeira cake, and it's a delicious treat that I can't resist.

Delicious. This cake is good value. $3. 30 for 450g cake. Made in Australia from at least 88% Australian ingredients. A lovely orange taste, soft & fluffy & moist & no icing which for me is a bonus. I decided to wrap individual slices & pop them in the freezer. I didn't want it to go stale sitting in the cupboard. Then I read on the wrapper that the product has been frozen from fresh and then thawed for your convenience. Too bad I'll pop it in the freezer anyway. Would I buy it again ? Most definitely. Thanks bunch.
