Woolworths Tuna Chilli 95g

Pleasantly suprised. So I was a bit sceptical as I only buy the more expensive tuna plus I can’t tolerate too much chilli but I had some left over Asian salad and added this tin to it for a tasty lunch. i was happy enough. Tuna tasted great, not too much heat. I was impressed actually. lost a star only because packed in Thailand but from multiple origins so what does that actually mean?? I want to know where this tuna is coming from. like that it is dolphin safe and they reduce ocean byproducts.

Tunapalooza. Distinctive packaging - black and red can. Readily available in the store - it was not difficult to find. Made from skipjack tuna - which according to the FDA contains lower amounts of mercury than yellowfin or albacore. According to the can the tuna has been responsibly caught without the use of aggregating devices. Has a nice chilli flavouring. The flesh/meat is chunkier than other brands of tuna. Four star health rating makes it a good choice for salads or a sandwich and at $1. 05, quite economical. I would buy this product again.

Mildly zingy, handy n well priced. I don’t normally buy little tins of tuna so not too familiar with flavored ones. This product was easily found on the shelves w good colours ti differentiate between flavours. The pull ring makes this a super convenient n affordable lunch/snack while out n about. It opens easily n cleanly with just a pull, n using the removed top, I pressed it down against the tuna to press out excess oil/water. I found it a little heavy on oil/water as there was barely half a tin left of tuna afterwards. The flavour was really lovely. Lightly spicy with a good balanced savory/sweet/zingy combination. Nice change from plain tuna. I hadn't tried this flavour previously, but have had others in the Woolies tuna range. I found the taste and texture very good, the chilli gave the tuna a depth of flavour missing in some of the other flavoured varieties. It's also healthy. I note this product is tinned in Thailand "from multiple origins". This is a little too vague for me; as a consumer, I like to know where my food is sourced.

Spicy tuna. This can of chilli flavoured tuna cost $1. 10. Good size can for a snack. The tuna is all flakes which I think is fine if you are going to spread on crackers or a sandwich. Didn’t look like there was much red chilli pieces dotted through the tuna but I could taste the chilli. For someone who doesn’t like spicy I thought it was acceptable and not that bad when you have with mayonnaise or salad. I like other tuna flavours more so wouldn’t get this flavour again but that’s my personal preference

Woolworths Tuna Chilli. Packaging is the same with the other brand. Comparing to other brand, I prefer to find chunks of tuna rather than flakes/floss/shredded (not sure what the right word is) tuna swimming in oil. By the time I drain out the oil, there wasn't much left in the can. Most likely if the tuna content is chunkier, it may not be as oily. I didn't get much hit of chilli. It was relatively mild. I will stick with my usual brand.

Not my fav. I do like tuna and will often have it in a mornay or with Mayo and sweetcorn, or even in fish cakes. This tuna has travelled a long way (not Australian) & I don’t like that it has vegetable oil in it. Chilli wasn’t too hot, which is good for me. Overall, not my favourite way to have tuna and I probably wouldn’t buy it again. These are convenient sized tins for work lunches but it’s more effective to buy a big tin & mix in your favourite flavourings & that would literally last for a week of tuna lunches…. or if you don’t want the same lunch all week, use some of it for a couple of lunches and use the rest of the tuna to make a different dinner dish.
