Wusthof Classic White Utility Knife 16 cm
The Classic White Series embraces all the favourite features that food lovers and professional chefs have come to rely on from the Classic series, but now with a refined white handle. The White series combines superior performance with a modern simplistic design for timeless knives that offer everything you need for preparing and plating fresh food. The Classic White 6” Utility knife is smaller than a cook’s knife, but larger than a paring knife, making it extremely versatile for a wide range of tasks. Use it for all types of food preparation including mincing onions or herbs to slicing tomatoes and charcuterie meat. The hand-honed high-carbon steel blade maintains a razor-sharp edge, and the handle perfectly balances the knife to mitigate fatigue. Features a full tang that is triple riveted to the handle for added stability and precise control. Classic White series handles are made of a highly durable synthetic material – Polyoxymethylene (POM) – which has a tighter molecular structure to resist fading and discoloration. Each Classic White Knife is forged from a single piece of High Carbon Stainless Steel and tempered to 58-degree HRC for lasting edge retention, integral blade strength, and ease of maintenance. The Precision Edge Technology (PEtec) yields a blade that is 20% sharper with twice the edge retention. Family owned for seven generations, Wüsthof was founded in Solingen, Germany over 200 years ago. As a premium manufacturer, Wüsthof’s cutlery holds the Solingen Decree, a designation reserved for products that meet the strictest quality standards.

I discovered this knife a few years ago and it is now my 'go to' knife! It is well balanced and comfortable to use on most tasks including cutting tomatoes. I prefer it over the paring knife and larger knife styles. It has become a preferred gift for all my friends.

I have a high quality knife set from a competitor brand. I bought the set twenty years ago. After the handle on my utility knife broke, I bought a replacement from the competitor brand. I was immediately disappointed that the quality and craftsmanship was not as good as my existing set. Then, I saw that the knife was made in Spain (not Germany like the rest of my set). I will admit that I looked at the competitor brand offerings first. I noticed another set at a higher price that was made in Germany (not Solingen). Since I'd never been enamored of my existing knife set, specifically the handle, I decided to purchase another utility knife from Wusthof. I had seen the brand in high-end stores for years and admired the quality and craftsmanship. I just never owned one ... MoreI have a high quality knife set from a competitor brand. It functions way better than my other knife and feels better in the hand too! When I finish my kitchen renovation, I will be buying a full set of Wusthof knives. Thank you for not succumbing to "shareholder value" like the competitor brand.

This is my second Wusthof Classic knife (I have the next size down, which is still going strong after close to 25 years). This one is comfortable to use, lightweight but not wobbly, and seems to be holding its edge really well. In terms of size, this size best chops a pretty good size onion, but probably not an acorn squash. It’s worth paying a little more upfront for these knives (if you can); they hold up really well. May be upgrading all my knives to Wusthof!

First of all, let me speak to the excellent customer service & warranty with Wusthof knives. I sent back a knife that was probably 20 years old & functioning well until the handle cracked. I was promptly issued a credit and bought this knife which I really like. It feels great in my hand. The blade is flawless. It’s nicely balanced. Would highly recommend.
I got my knife, started using it and I noticed there were nicks in the blade and on the tip it had a burr. I contacted your customer service. They told me since I had used it I would have to send it back under a warranty clam. I sent it back and it was covered under warranty and you gave me a credit to replace it. So far no problems. I love my WÜSTHOF knives!
It was too big of a blade. I was trying to replace a broken knife that I sent in to be replaced and instead of receiving a knee comparable knife I received a credit to purchase one online. Unfortunately, I didn’t measure the knife or take a picture of it so I wasn’t sure what length the knife was so I guessed and was wrong. I didn’t need or want one this big/long, I wanted a smaller one. I currently have the smallest size paring knife and was trying to replace the next size up, but this was too big. I would have preferred the company choose a comparable knife to the one I had previously purchased and mail it to me. My actual knife wasn’t even on the website so I had to guess what size and what type.
I purchased this for my daughter and son in law to add to the Classic collection we started for them years ago. The knife lives up to its name; they are using it more than any of their other knives.
I’m so impressed with Wusthof company and their products. All my knives are Wüsthof knives. I’ve had them for over 30 years. This particular knife was damaged, but was covered under their warranty policy.I sent it back and it was replaced.I was very pleased with customer service, and the quick turnaround time for me to receive the new knife.
Best Product and Company ever. They stand behind their product.PS: I cut my thumb today with the bread knife. My Fault. It was a smooth cut, easy cut, with the best bread knife ever
This knife was a warranty replacement on a broken knife. Warranty process was great. I mailed the broken one in and received the email with the replacement value code within a couple weeks. Ordered the same knife, nothing out of pocket, and received it within a week. Awesome customer service and great knives. THANk YOU!!
