So now I am waiting in frustration...By the way, my friend's unit is fine.I did ask the staff for a replacement but based on the policy it has to be sent to repair first. And also, when I bought the unit, the box seemed to be a refurbished unit. I they should mention it to the customer if it is a refurbish or not. That way it will be the customers liability if they accept it.

I love this portable smart speaker. I tested new versions of competing models, including the tribit max+, the earfun uboom, and the soundcore motion+. For my taste, the sound is much better than the first two and better than the third; the 360 sound is nice and I really love the ability to chromecast music and podcasts. It is much smaller than I thought, about the same size as the motion+. and super portable for indoor use. Even used, the battery life was good and connecting it to the bose music app was a breeze (I was not sure if it would connect easily as a used model; no problems at all). I think it justifies the higher price tag compared to those other models as I wanted to cast and connect devices to bluetooth.
I purchased two of the Bose Portable Smart Speaker, even though I read the poor reviews about Bose Music web app. Out of the box the speakers connected easily and sounded great. Then it happened, the two speakers that I had grouped/connected together either had no sound or the speakers stopped communicating with each other. I had to bring both speakers back to factory setting and go through the process again. This time it worked longer but still an issue. What fixed my issue was I have Fios as my internet provider who use eero as WiFi extenders. Under the eero app I connected the eero account to my regular Amazon account. Donāt understand why but since it has been working nicely.

I use it in my kitchen (well mostly plan to keep this indoor) and it sounds great. When customers spend so much for a portable speaker, premium quality material should be the name of the game :)

The only way to connect this speaker is via Bluetooth as there is no aux jack to plug in with a 3.5mm aux cable. It was fine when initially using it for listening to music. I noticed a 1/2 second delay before my music started playing, but wasn't too bothered by that. I will say that the speakers work great with my iPod Touch Gen 7 and no issues arose. I would recommend this speaker for anyone using a mobile device such as a phone or tablet. The speakers sound top notch to my ears and have quite a bit of bass to it which will shake your desk. I would have kept them if not for the latency issues as I loved everything else about the speakers. If not using it with a Mac computer, I say buy it!

Connectivity issues can be worked around, but a short lasting battery that takes 5+ hours to charge is a pretty big detractor and keeps me from being able to highly recommend this speaker.
When I first took this speaker out of its box, I felt mildly alarmed that it was so compact.
