I moved into a new apartment Last year. There was such a smell, which I really thought it was Musty. I tried everything possible that I read up on. I then recall the commercials for. Damp rid. Bought a few of the individual containers and put them in areas in my apartment. My amazing! It did the trick and I saw the water collect.I was very glad when I saw this refill size! And with warm weather upon us now the need for it comes back!Plus, as far as I know, Home Depot is the only one who carries this size thank you!

The Damprid bags seem to be superior to these little buckets. After purchasing a bag and seeing (and smelling!) it work wonders in a damp and thus mildewy bath, I purchased three of these buckets at Big Lots. There seems to be a design flaw with them. I followed the directions to the letter, but the little white dessicant pellets solidified into a solid brick-like mass without ever depositing liquid into the bottom container. These seemed a good alternative for areas with no place to hang a bag, but certainly not if they are ineffective. I now plan simply to use command strips in the kitchen to hang a Damprid bag near the fridge where heat from the fridge coils and the wet from the water line for the ice maker are leading to mold and mildew. Living in the south east coast, it is extremely humid. Spring time is perfect weather to have fans on and windows open. However, it leaves my house being very muggy. I have recently discovered that there is a type of mold growing in the closets and under the beds. I threw one of these in each bedroom and within a couple days I’ve had zero issues. Absolutely satisfied with this purchase!

Love, use and highly recommend DampRid--it works!
20 March 2024

I got a good deal on this 2-pak, I got a few 2-paks and I really like using these after a wet winter to keep my small home from getting dampness into walls or even into furniture that I can't move often or even able to clean often due to age and infirmaties, so this comes in really handy and I've used it for years and never had mold or mildew and I even was able to rid my back bedroom of the mildew that was present when I bought this place from previous owner dying and not cleaning well, it took weeks, but I cleaned and put this DampRid in all areas in the back even in the drawers and top of closets and I was able to get rid of the odor and the marks that I could see and now it's all clean and fresh with NO odors or marks--the dampness is GONE thanks to DampRid! DampRid did it for me!

Not My Best Experience With Damp Rid
29 October 2023

Thought the idea of ā€œdecorative containersā€ a plus when ordering. However content is priority. First one I opened the basket that you pour the pellets into was cracked so automatically figured on returning it. The next one I opened the pellets were not pourable but I managed to break the lump down to fit in the basket and hope they will still absorb moisture in our safe. I poked at the third container and found the Pellets to be harden as well so decided to return it along with the first container. In the past I have had better experiences with Damp Rid

The product is small enough to be discreet if necessary, but it really does a fantastic job. I have been using this brand for 9 years. I am new to the scented version. The scent is not strong, but pleasantly there. I use it in our finished basement. We have a large furnished den area, bar area, full bath, bedroom and walk in closet. It is a basement but definitely an area that is used daily. Damp Rid has been eliminating any potential of moisture or a musty scent for the 9 years we have lived here. Every time I empty the container, I am shocked at the amount of water pulled out of the air by this little container. It is a very dry basement, but it is a basement. Personally, I prefer the unscented version, but I am sensitive to perfume type products. I feel everyone has a use for this product. You can put it a covered stored boat. We use it in our classic car when we cover it and store it for the winter. All in all, the product does what it claims, and worth every penney!

This product has handled my appartments mold problem and musty smells
13 August 2020

I bought this product after being recommended by several Reddit users of my mold issue. I started noticing that my south FL apartment, which was built in the '70s, started getting a VERY musty, moldy smell to it. The rooms felt very humid and muggy. I noticed that all of my leather goods and clothing which were stored for about 5 months in my closets were completely covered with green mold, unable to be saved. So, back to the product. I bought two of these containers and placed them in the rooms/ AC closet, and noticed that the moisture was coming mainly from the AC unit. In two weeks both of these filled up to capacity with dirty water, my rooms smelled fresh and crisp for once. I haven't followed up on the mold problem from the closets as I stopped storing things ...Ā MoreI bought this product after being recommended by several Reddit users of my mold issue. I haven't followed up on the mold problem from the closets as I stopped storing things in there out of fear that my clothing will be ruined again, but I'm most certainly positive that this has reduced the moisture in the air SO effectively that there wouldn't be much humidity for mold to grow. I have gone and bought the 7.5lbs refill as well and cant wait to continue using it and recommending it to anyone.

Tired of that "musty" smell? Use DampRid products!

Tired of Clean clothes getting "musty" smelling just hanging in your closet? The Linen Closet? Under your Bath and/or Kitchen sinks? The Guest Room you always keep closed (so pets, kitchen odors, etc don't get in)? USE DampRid! We no longer have ANY "musty" smells, thanks to this amazing, affordable product. Buy a Refill bag too, you'll be amazed at how quickly this pulls all moisture and there's nothing but liquid in the container. The Charcoal one is great too, use it in the worst areas; the regular product melts away but the charcoal doesn't - just add more "crystals" from the Refill bag and mix it in. The Lavender Vanilla scent is not overpowering. You can smell both the Lavender and the Vanilla. Some fragrance candles and scent products such as oils are overpowering, but this is scent barely noticeable. We like Lavender more than any other scent. The active ingredient is calcium chloride (a salt). This is non-toxic in small quantities, but can irritate the skin since it removes most moisture from your skin.We have been using this product for many years. It works better than silica get which is used in closed containers such as vitamins. Damp rid products are designed to collect the liquid which is good. The only downside we have found to this product, is that if you spill the liquid on carpet is is hard to remove.
