The oxidation: I immediately noticed that the foundation was warmer than most foundations I have tried and swatched it on my arm. In order to test whether the foundation would further oxidize, I swatched the foundation every 20 minutes for two hours (left to right) and then put one final swatch immediately before taking a photo to track the oxidation over time versus fresh. The formulation: this foundation has an excellent, smooth, easy to blend texture and sets fairly quickly. The finish gives a really healthy glow to skin and applies beautifully over dry skin and skin with an orange peel texture. It does not sink into pores or highlight imperfections which is really nice. I applied this foundation alone (without primer or finishing spray/powder) and found that it stayed really well against rubbing or splashing water on it. There was minor transfer with rubbing but it did not affect the look of the foundation on my skin. I would recommend this foundation but I would recommend swatching first so you can adjust for oxidation.

I have to say, my first impression of this foundation was truly great and I’m very picky with my foundation. For context my skin is dry to regular. It’s a thinner consistency so you can really build it up for the perfect look and it’s not heavy or cakey at all. The coverage is nice. I applied this with a foundation brush since it is thinner and it blended beautifully into my skin. It seriously looked like my skin but bright and glowy. I applied blush and concealer on top of the foundation easily and it still looked great. I personally did not notice any sort of scent. I knocked off a star for two reasons: the foundation wears well throughout the day but it did start to settle into the pores on my cheeks (I did not use a primer, so maybe consider that) and it did ... MoreI have to say, my first impression of this foundation was truly great and I’m very picky with my foundation. Overall, a really great new foundation and love that is has hyaluronic acid and comes in a strong variety of shades. I received this product free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review!

First of all: YES, I know that the color I chose was NOT a match for my inner arm. I’d used that color on my face, with mixed reviews, and since the reviews I read were primarily about the foundation use on the face, I thought I would provide some insight regarding the performance on the body. As you can see, it doesn’t really cover dark, heavy tattoos, which is not surprising. I imagine if you allowed the formula to dry between the MANY layers you’d need to apply, you might have some luck with full coverage, however, there are products out there that are designed/work superior for tattoo coverage…so the Dior Backstage Foundation misses the mark there. Like I said, I did apply it to my face and AFTER applying primer, as the other reviewers suggested, and wasn’t really pleased with the performance, either. I’m not used to “thin”, watery foundation, but made it “work”. About 2 hours later, I could see where my skin tends to get red (usually in the winter) peek through the foundation. I don’t have sensitive skin, nor do I have rosacea, but the area around my nose and sides of my upper lip tend to get pink in colder months. The formula “settled” too, even though I applied primer before and powder after this foundation. If you have near perfect skin and need something that evens you out/preps skin for color/conturing products, this will likely work well for you! It definitely seems to give a more “natural” look, as one “layer” or application without going back over with more product allows your skin to still show through (ie natural).

This foundation is pretty solid. It does give that second-skin vibe, which is cool. I actually love that it gives a more natural look - it’s not a heavy-duty imperfection cover-up, just a subtle touch to even things out a bit . I appreciate the hydrating elements, like the hyaluronic acid and plant-based squalene. My skin is definitely feeling the love hahaha - the water and heat resistance claim? I mean, it holds up alright, but I’d need a few more rounds to be fully sold on that. One thing though, there’s a bit of fragrance. Surprisingly, it didn’t give me a headache - I’m usually very sensitive to scents, but this one was okay. Still, if I had the choice, I’d prefer makeup with no smell. I received these products for free from Influenster and Dior in exchange for my honest review. I tested and used the Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation in shades 1N and 2N over the course of 3 days. I was shade matched in store to 2N in the Dior Forever Matte Foundation, however I found 2N in Face and Body to be slightly deeper and more peach leaning than 2N in Dior Forever Matte. However, the undertones in Face and Body were flexible enough to work on me, which I contribute to the formulation itself. Apart from undertone variation, I was both surprised and delighted with the finish and longevity of Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation. My go-to foundation has been Bobbi Brown Skin Long Wear Weightless Foundation for its light feel, flexible coverage levels, and natural look and feel on the face. The Dior has equalled, if not outperformed the Bobbi Brown, but I would like to do a side-by-side comparison at some point. I found the Dior Backstage Face and Body really responsive to different SPF formulas I wore underneath it. On Day 1 I wore La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-in Milk, Day 2 I wore Supergoop Unseen, and on Day 3 I wore Supergoop Glow screen. The foundation performed well over each, but I think on my skin type (dry to normal), it wore best over the glow screen. My skin feels soft and the makeup has definitely set, so I don’t worry about longevity, however I do feel a little tightness across my cheeks, so I could probably hydrate my skin a bit more to make up for the dry down of the foundation. What has impressed me most about the Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation is how natural it looks, how seamless is is after 8+ hours of wear (without primer or setting spray) and that it doesn’t crease or settle into fine lines. I prefer using my fingers to apply products and I have found that for this formula, I prefer either fingers or a dense foundation brush. I used the Saie base brush and loved how easily it blended out the foundation. From what I can tell, the formula is extremely flexible and the sign to me that it’s a winning formula is that it didn’t settle into the pores around my t-zone. I’m super impressed!

I used to be in love with the Makeup Forever Reboot in Y405 but they discontinued it. I tried the Dior Backstage Face and Body foundation 4WO and it's even better! Chef's kiss! You don't even need a primer with it and can use the foundation alone. When I tried using primer, the primer took away from the beautiful finish of the foundation so I would suggest not using primer. It's that great and the color is the most perfect shade I have ever used. It's the closest color to my skin and I have Southeast Asian skin so I have the warm yellowish/ golden tones. I used it all summer long and it makes me look flawless. It holds up in heat well when you do your whole makeup routine. The only small , tiny thing I don't like about it is if you put powder over it , it settles into fine lines if you use too much powder. Not sure if that's the powder or the foundation though but it isn't a big deal to me. If you use it without powder, no fine lines are emphasized.

Great, buildable coverage with a beautiful finish

Been wanting to try this for a while and so glad I finally have! I self-matched to 4WO which is a great match for my medium, golden but not overly warm Indian skin. So happy that Dior have olive based undertones, many other high-end brands still only offer neutral, warm, or cool none of which match me. This is so easy to apply, a little goes a long way and it buffs out beautifully. On my skin it leaves a natural semi-matte finish so looks like my skin but better. It's buildable so I use it as a concealer under my eyes. What's great is that it doesn't crease - something that has always tended to happen to me. It also doesn't oxidise on my skin - something that always happens to me too! My Favourite foundation!

This might be the best foundation so far. I finally received my order yesterday, and used the recommended colour while online in my Sephora account. I originally tried a sample in store of 4.5W...it was too dark. So I thought, let's try the recommended shade. I applied it yesterday over a bit of primer I put on my T zone, as I have combination skin, but my nose seems oilier lately. I applied a thin layer, and it really does look "like skin"! It was very hot and humid yesterday, so this was a big test to the make up. I was sweaty as well, but this foundation really did stay on! I couldn't believe it...I didn't have to blot my face, not even my nose!! It feels comfortable on my skin, and I think it has a slightly pleasant scent. I really don't like wearing make up ... MoreThis might be the best foundation so far. I finally received my order yesterday, and used the recommended colour while online in my Sephora account. I really don't like wearing make up often, but this really felt like I wasn't wearing anything. The colour is perfect, and it covered most of my imperfections. I can't wait to build the coverage next time. I will be wearing this to 3 events in the next month, were I will be very busy, moving and working but have to look presentable and fabulous! This is my favourite foundation right now!

Natural look and a bit of fragrance!
15 December 2023

This foundation is pretty solid. It does give that second-skin vibe, which is cool. I actually love that it gives a more natural look - it’s not a heavy-duty imperfection cover-up, just a subtle touch to even things out a bit .The hydrating bits with hyaluronic acid and plant-based squalene are a plus! My skin feels nicely hydrated. The water and heat resistance claim? I mean, it holds up alright, but I’d need a few more rounds to be fully sold on that lolOne thing though, there’s a bit of fragrance. Surprisingly, it didn’t give me a headache - I’m usually very sensitive to scents, but this one was okay.Oh, and the shade range is pretty expansive, which is a win for sure. My tone’s probably something between the 2N and 3N, but that’s probably because it’s winter ... MoreThis foundation is pretty solid. It does give that second-skin vibe, which is cool.
