F18 Varta Silver Dynamic M/Free Battery - 42 Month Warranty

Bought this as a replacement for the original Ford battery that had died in our 17 plate Transit Custom. We had originally looked at buying the new battery from a well known 'Euro' car parts place locally, but decided on using Tanya batteries because:1. Tanya identified that there was more than one type of battery for the vehicle - the other place suggested a battery that was too small even though we supplied the registration number. 2. This top of the range Varta battery was cheaper from Tanya than the cheapest unknown make from the other place. 3. This battery and 24 hour postage saved my trip back home. Once replaced the car started first time, in icy conditions with some faulty injectors too! I can not explain how fast the postage was. The fact the battery came fully charged helped me immensely. The Varta battery is highly recommended and its worth getting this model for the extra Amp hours for the extra £5 it cost.

After 13 years of ownership from new I was faced with the need to replace the cars original battery. I wanted to replace the excellent original Varta battery with another unit from the same manufacturer. I had to look hard to find the right size battery but the team at Tanya were excellent in helping me get the right rated battery and the correct physical sized battery for my Audi A6 Allroad 2.5 TDI. If you own one of these cars make sure you know the battery size you need, the fit. The battery seems to be performing as well as the original, it was fitted just ahead of a skiing trip so it will be interesting to see how it copes with cold craning after two weeks sitting in minus 2 to 5 degrees. I have no concerns.

Good price. Took the £1 Saturday delivery but they called to say that my area was not included. Apparently Falkirk in the central belt of Scotland, midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh, was not included. Although the add said only Scottish Highlands and Islands were excluded. I went ahead with the order and the battery arrived the following day ... Saturday. They recognised their geographical mistake. Very impressed with the packaging. Good sized and strong box well padded with polystyrene sheets so the battery couldn't move. The battery was vaccuum packed in one of those vaccuum bags that is normally used to hold clothes and is attached to a vaccuum cleaner hose to extrart the air.Overall, very impressed, and would use again and recommend to others.

So far so good but too early to tell regarding reliability as only fitted 10 days ago. Should be okay with the battery carrying a 5 year warranty. Service from Tayna was excellent. This is the second battery I have bought from Tayna and will shortly need a third one for my classic car. Some loyalty discount would be good.

Just a couple of observations: (1) I wish you would use some other packaging material, instead of the really dreadfully environmentally unfriendly expanded polystyrene foam (EPF) boards you use to pack the battery inside its cardboard box. EPF is terrible stuff to dispose of cleanly and tidily (it breaks into crumbly pieces that fly all over the place, stick electro-statically to everything in sight, and never organically decompose) Maybe you could look into using, instead of EPF, very-high-density, 5-8 cm thick, corrugated cardboard, to hold and protect the batteries in their packing-boxes. Luckily no sulphuric acid leaked out but I think you really need to ram home to your couriers the need to keep the package upright at all times. Nonetheless, having made these observations, I am still delighted to be able to buy a battery online with such rapid delivery and at such a good price -- thank you for that.

Yes 2 stars because the battery failed and the returns process is almost impossible as nearly no one takes car batteries from Joe Public. If you buy factor in an extra £25 for a return (if you can find someone - I ended using UPS as they collected) this will pretty much negate any savings. Oh and even if the battery is faulty you won't get your shipping costs back. Buy locally you'll get a better customer experience.

Battery arrived the next day as advertised well packaged and protected. After a bit of mucking around removing the old one, it fitted where it was meant to be. Reconnected the cables and tried the ignition. Engine fired up on the first try so the battery did exactly what it was meant to do.Worth paying for the correct size and power to do the job properly.

Nobody cares about the battery in their car until it fails and then youre all over like a rash. I couldnt believe that the previous owner had allowed such an ugly lump into such a beautiful car. Sounds like Im loosing it? Perhaps, however its undeniable that if something looks smart and fits easy then its usually a sign of quality and its no surprise when it performs flawlessly. My new Varta battery - looks great, fits easy , works superbly. Of course this is only possible when Tanya brings this to your door through easy ordering, great pricing, superb delivery. Thanks again.
